Janani immediately calms down. She seems a bit emotionally distaught. Perhaps it was what she'd mentioned of Cora a bit earlier, and a fear creeping in now. She smiles, somewhat weakly, as she nods.
No. I'm fine.
She takes a quick, calming breath.
Uhm...? Can I ask you something?

Well...
She pauses. She's not sure how to proceed, really. She knows adultry is a sin. She knows adultry is commiting...something outside of wedlock, but that 'something' is what she doesn't know. At the same time...Luana and Kal seemed friendly...

Now she's confused. Luana's avoiding the subject? There was just something there for Janani to sense. Without the restrictions of the Brink, her Celest senses are quite perceptive. Even if she doesn't fully understand it.
I don't know... I've only talked to him...once. I mean... He seemed nice.
...and Janani is concerned for her friend.

The curious look on her face doesn't disappear.
Oh...
He looks like a few other people in the Brink. She just doesn't bring it up. Who knows what kind of genetics might have conglomerated? One cannot assume anything, especially within the Brink.
I'd really like to know... I mean... We're friends, right? Is it...? Is it okay to...share stuff like this?
The strange mix of wisdom of true age and maturity of child-age. Interesting to behold.

"If we're really friends, then I don't see why it wouldn't be." Luana chewed on her tongue. She sure didn't treat people like friends. In the past she would just move on when she got bored, now she lied to them. It made her sick in her heart.

Janani nods as she tries to smile.
I don't know... You're nervous, frustrated, and anxious.
She says it as if it's the most natural thing in the world. Then she realizes something. She gasps as she covers her mouth.
Oh! I'm sorry. You aren't used to me having my powers, with the Brink restricting them. I can...sense emotions and such. I think humans call it emphatics.
She wanted to be polited and civil, and she figured this was such.

How to best explain...?
It's called Binding. It's like...drawing energy around an object to make it do something. I can do other things with the energy, but I think what I'm going to show you would be easiest to understand.
