Garrat closed the gap and Nathan's cheeks turned hot and his breath grew short as a tingly warm sensation melted through hips and body. "Mm-!" he gasped underneath his knight and his weak arms didn't want to push him away, but he needed answers! He pulled away from the moist hot lips and blushed feverishly, "What are you doing?" he gasped, his heart thundering in his chest. "You just told me to stop being like how I was? You just said!" his tears dripped out of his eyes and he licked his lips, shaking.

Right, he did say that. Not even a few minutes ago. "I was scared, Nathaniel. Your affectionate actions caused temptations that were becoming even more difficult to resist. I didn't want to end up doing unspeakable things to you; I didn't want to hurt you," he explained with such relief in his voice. He didn't have to hide anything from the prince anymore, though Nathaniel might be a bit irked for a while.

Garrat was saying all of these things and his heart fluttered in his chest. For years Nathaniel held back tears and more frequently had kept quiet about these past events. "So I was ... I was right then..? you do have feelings for me..?" he asked in a state of disbelief and joy combined. "What could you ever do to hurt me?... I love you... " his breathing grew stronger but he tried to remain calm.
Nathaniel sat up brushed a strand of hair out of his knight's face and behind his ear and he found himself face to face with the man, just inches from his lips. " How could you think I wouldn't love you..? You've been the only one to look at me like I was ... like I wasn't a waste of time.." Nathaniel gave the kiss to his knight this time. It was a chaste kiss but it was sweet and warm. Nathan's lips were moist and hot from his blushing face but his fingers were cold.
He broke the kiss once again and covered the soldier's eyes with his cold fingers,"So.. what do you want for your birthday then?" he asked with a bit of a pouting grin. Smirking, and making sure he wouldn't take no for an answer..

"Well, I did say I want your heart, but I already have it," Garrat answered with a smile. "Perhaps something a bit more intimate." One step at a time. They had just begun to become a couple. There was no need to rush things just like that. "But that can wait." Garrat had lasted this long. He could wait a little more.

As the sun finally set and the moon began to rise. Nathan's heart was thumping loudly and he found himself wrapping his arms around the knight's neck, not wanting to let go. He nuzzled the man's neck and eventually noticed sleep taking over his tired eyelids, only to cling tighter to Garrat, not wanting to let go.

Garrat smiled and kissed Nathaniel once more. "Sleep now. Today has been very strange," the knight said, brushing some of the prince's hair out of his face. He may have to get off the bed before Nathaniel's nana saw them, though they could possibly make up an excuse for them sleeping together.

The morning came and the sun broke through the damp gray clouds. Nathaniel wasn't quite awake yet, but he could feel his small frail body wrapped in Garrat's. So as the knocking on a door continued, he remained in a deep sleep, waiting for the knocking to go away.

Woken up by the knocking, Garrat tried to untangle himself from Nathaniel's hold. It wasn't as if he couldn't, but the knight didn't want to disturb his prince. Nathaniel just looked so peaceful when he slept that Garrat was unwilling to wake him, even though the nana needs to give him his medicine.

Nana eventually did leave and Nathan did wake up, sooner or later. He cuddled up to Garrat and looked and studied his face. "Good morning..." whispered sleepily and playfully hid under the covers again, The day already felt wonderful and his heart felt like it was being filled with Garrat. But now, things were to change. Garrat wasn't supposed to be by his side any more and Nathan was supposed to be locked inside in his room while Garrat was away... but that'd be okay now... well supposedly it would. The prince had someone's hand to hold... and it didn't matter how far they were.. right?
"Well... how did sleeping in a bed feel? After all this time... why didn't you ever just go to your room?.. Or sleep in my bed? A chair can't be very comfortable." he asked from underneath the covers. The warm darkness felt good. Even more so as Nathaniel rest his head over Garrat's torso, crawling on top of him.

Today, Garrat would have to report to the captain. If there were no missions, he could possibly return to Nathaniel and begin training. Ah, that's right, he never told him the good news. Well, it will be a surprise, then.
"The bed is strange, but I could get used to it," Garrat admitted. "My job is to protect you, so I hardly use my own room anymore. As for why I didn't sleep in your bed, well, it is strange for two unrelated people to sleep together unless they're lovers. I didn't know about your feelings before."

"Hmm.. " he sighed and laid on top of Garrat, poking his head out of the covers and onto to rest on Garrat's chest. " I never thought it was that strange. We used to do it all the time as kids... " his cheeks blushed a bit as he reached and intertwined his fingers in the knight's hair, gently playing with the locks.
"Say.... I don't really understand though... Why do you love me?"

"You don't seem to have grown out of being a kid," Garrat joked. That may explain why Nathaniel didn't find sleeping together strange. Children often didn't know better.
Why did Garrat love Nathaniel? It was a difficult thing to explain. There could have been anyone else who acted just like Nathaniel, and yet the prince would be the only one the knight loved. Love was a very confusing thing. "I''m afraid I don't know the answer."

The young Prince frowned a bit and then pushed himself up to a position where he was straddling over Garrat now. His heart quickened again as he smiled, "well as for me, I think I fell in love with you while you training. I loved as a friend in the beginning but I saw hard you worked, and you did all that to become a wonderful soldier..." Nathan sort of rested on Garrat's waist, looking out the window," and you're my soldier..." He giggled and then slightly coughed.

"Well, I was training for you," Garrat commented. "I saw you watching a few times. Must have been quite a show up there." He patted the prince's back to help him as he coughed. They stayed like this for a while, and then Garrat became aware of the time. "I should report to the captain."

Nathan sighed and nodded, getting off of his friend he scooped up and played with his little kitten. "Okay... The captain seems pretty worried ever since the festival incident" he mumbled as the kitten mew.
