Soi blinked at the sudden turn of events. Her surprise was evident in that the rain faded to little more than a drizzle. Could it possibly be that these two boys were Seiryu Seishi too?

"What did you say?" she asked not quite ready to drop her guard but her voice had clearly lost it's edge. If they were seishi then they could be trusted...couldn't they? After all they were practically on the same side right? "Forgive my hesitation, but I'm going to have to ask for some proof, this has been a...hectic day."

Despite all the questions, one thing became starkingly clear. If they were seishi she couldn't kill them, Nakago needed them in his purpose and moreover the act of killing one of her own now felt...very wrong. Slowly, she sheathed her sword and called off the rain.

Genrou's head pounded and as he moved little lights flashed across his vision but apart from that he was fine. 'Yeah right,' he thought. It was obvious that he was some kind of carriage. He struggled to move his body but his awkward. Eventually though he managed to turn slightly and two people entered part of vision. "Who the Hell are you?" he demanded loudly and angrily. 'And where the Hell is my tessen?' he wondered. 'I really hope it's still on me.'

Nakago chuckled quietly...though loud enough to be heard by anyone in the carraige.

"Is that any way to address the Shogun of Kutou?"

He said towards Tasuki.

"We shall have to teach him some manners."

He said, leaning over towards Tomo, but keeping his eyes on Tasuki, a smirk forming.

He shifted his position again, clearly displaying the tessen now at his waist..though pretendinbg he was not aware it was in sight, his Ki still focused around it.

"Your tessen is safe...though i believe it was the cause of this whole mess...and is part of why you are here now."

He did not yet know the details...but the more he pulled over on this bandit, the more they could learn and the more fun the trip could be.

Suboshi's heart was beating fast, even as the adrenaline died down. He let go of the ryuuseisui, but kept them spinning in the air, just in case. He grinned as he yanked up the left sleeve of his shirt, showing off the symbol kaku on his shoulder.

"I'm Suboshi," he said, "This is my aniki, Amiboshi." He let go of his sleeve and crossed his arms comfortably. "So," he said, looking up at the sky, "Is that your power?"

"What's for lunch?" she asked in an attempt to make conversation.

"Lunch? A little late for that. The sun will be going down soon...I say it is about dinner time!"

"I do not want dinner...I want to play!"

They continued on down the dirt road, a small quaint village fast approaching.

"Too bad...we need to check in and get something to eat at least for our new friend!"

The village was quiet...not much going on...most houses wer being settled into for the night...dinner was going to be late for these kids, but therir parentswould still be watiting for them.

Tomo studied the bandit. He would only act on Nakago's command, and so was content to watch. He was pleased to know he had calculated the poison and antidote amounts perfectly. It pleased him even more that he gotten to use the technique at all. He rarely needed it. Normally, traveling with the troupe, he did not wear his crown and feathers. But he found that they expressed him quite well, and choose to wear them in the public eye. He had begun dipping the feathers in poison several years ago. He had come to the conclusion that being able to wound someone physically would be the capstone to his fighting ability. He could detroy a person's life and never lift a finger. Perfection.

But it had not been a flawless victory over this bandit. He had had trouble taking down his prey, and that intrigued him. But this was Nakago's show now, and he would sit back and wait.

Unlike his brother, Amiboshi was quite disappointed when he saw that the woman turned out to be a seishi as well. He still did not want to reveal who they were, knowing that they would have to fight for whatever reason with this woman and whoever else. And if their enemies were around as powerful as Soi, then there was a risk that something could happen to his brother. If he lost Suboshi, his whole world was lost.

So he was not so anxious to reveal his character mark. In fact, he shielded it instinctly, placing a hand on his shoulder and gripping at the clothing. But his eyes went wide as he saw Suboshi revealed his, biting his lower lip in a nervous state. Now it was too late...

'Shogun?! Ah crap,' Genrou thought. "Safe?" he queried mockingly. "I wouldn't call it safe!" His eyes spotted it and he glared at the shogun though it was difficult since he still couldn't get into a suitable enough position. "What the Hell do you want huh? I was using my tessen to defend myself, that's hardly a crime! You're kidnapping now that's a crime!"

Miaka glanced up at the sky, blinking and blushing in embarrassment. "Oh, you're right... funny, it seemed a lot earlier when I first got here. I guess that's because where I came from, it was mid-afternoon." She glanced up at the nearby town, mouth dropping in surprise. Wow! she cried inwardly. It looks just like an ancient village! Did I fall into some kind of theme park or something?

The charge in the atmosphere was too great to simply be dispersed by her will, so Soi indulged in a little demonstration.

"My power? Well not exactly..." she smiled feeling a bit playful. With a few calculated bursts of ki she directed a stream of electity towards a clump of old weathered trees not too far from where they stood.

The skies crackled and thunder boomed as nine streaks of lighining fused into three and struck the ancient wood. Smoke and fire sprouted from the broken remains and licked up the deep puddles in their surroundings.

"THAT is my power," she grinned. The attack had acted as an exhaust valve to use up the ions in the atmosphere. It was a useful burst of energy since holding back too much electricity gave the woman a migraine.

"My name is Soi," she continued as if she had done no more that shoo away a fly. She adopted a more relaxed stance and removed the dark hood revealing her dark red hair. Out of the corner of her eye she studied the one called Amiboshi. While Suboshi seemed thrilled to meet another seishi, his twin seemed hesitant and almost nervous.

"As for my behaviour earlier," she smirked wryly in a way that was everything but apologetic, "Kutou can be very dangerous place. I think you'll agree that two armed strangers running up to a woman is something that could be easily misread."

Suboshi was suddenly very glad they had not fought. He whistled in appreciation of the destructive power.

As he got his first real look at Soi, he gained a new appreciation for idea of never underestimating a pretty face. Despite her previous attitude and unapologetic manner, Suboshi liked her. They had a lot in common already.

"Well," he responded in kind, "Aniki and I are hardly menacing, and not exactly armed. At least, not in the typical sense of the word."

He glanced back at his brother for some sort of confirmation, and his stomach dropped. Amiboshi looked very uneasy, and Suboshi was not exactly sure why. Shouldn't he happy Suboshi had actually avoided a fight for once? He edged closer to his brother for reassurance, though which one of them he was trying reassure, he did not know.

Amiboshi stood wide eyed after seeing the demostration of Soi's ability, growing more uneasy at the sudden power this woman possessed. But he still remained silent as he tried to analyze the situation.

He really did not want to fight. But he saw how excited Suboshi was getting over all this and did not dare want to take it away. So normally when he would protest against talking any further with this woman and suggest they go on their way to the village before it got to dark, he kept his mouth shut. But he knew that he could not keep too much from his brother since they always had the gift to sense each other's feelings and such.

'The way he said it makes it sound like the fan itself is the source...' Nakago though as he listened to the slightly belligerent captive.

"Apparently, the ramifications of my stature are lost on you. Regardless of the situation...of which...honestly...we do not care...you happened to be in the right place at the wrong time in the wrong situation. Had it not been for the unique ability of producing flames from thin air and exceptional speed that marks you as more than just an ordainary person, who we could have killed without hesitation for even less of an offense, you would not be here now."

He paused for a moment as one of the riders rode up next to the carriage and spoke.

"Sorry to interrupt Shogun...but we are coming into the first village we are to stop at" (Not the one Yui and Company are at...we will wait until morning/the next day to make those kind of connections, unless someone sees good reason otherwise.)

"Good...takes us where there will be reasonable accommodations and have the commanders meet me immediately. We will continue on tomorrow."

Nakago sat quietly letting Tasuki Seethe while the carriage pulled into the village and to the largest Inn in the area.

Nakago turned to Tomo.

"Bring him with us. After I meet with the commanders, you may untie him. He seems very attached to his Tessen...so I doubt he will go anywhere without it."

He said patting his hip where it rested

The carraige came to a complete stop and the door was opened. Nakago rose and stepped out into the night air. Some people of the village had been awakened by the caravan watched through windows, unsure of what was going on...frightened...there was an eerie quiet over the area.

"You musta' been sleeping in the river longer than you though funny girl!"

They continued dragging her on to the huddle of huts that were theirs, respectively and the headed into one where the parents were talking, and food was left on the table. Happy looks that the kids were back turned confused at the strange sight they were dragging along with them.

"Hi Mom...Hi Dad! This is Mi-a-ka" (Had to check if you actually sid her name to them yet... sweatdrop ) Saying the name slower and more deliberate than people who were used to the name.

"She was sleeping in the river when we found her...and so we all came to get something to eat and then we want to play some more!"

One of the parents stood

"No...I think it is time you kids come in for the night. Go eat your dinner."

"Welcome stranger. I hope the children did not bother you. You are welcome to eat with them if you want."

Soi saw that Amiboshi was frightened of her. For some reason, she didn't feel the rush of power and twisted glee she had expected. She looked away and pretended to look after Kiri as her mind drifted. Was this the reason Nakago had sent her away? Did he sense this flaw in me?

She spared the twins a glance. They were certainly nicer than Tomo, but that was probably due to the fact that they were younger and didn't lust after Nakago. She sighed feeling a headache come on despite the fact that there was not enough electricity in the air to provoke one.

"You're welcome to stay if you wish, the village has gotten too dangerous" she replied as she absently dried off her mare, "everyone is practically starving; they'll do anything to live another day. I was originally going to spend the night there, but had to make a run for it when my hostess tried to kill me in my sleep," she gave a bitter scoff, "I should have given her a fistfull of rice instead of copper coins as payment."

Suboshi's eyes fell to the ground. "It's getting to be like that everywhere," he remarked as Soi's story.

He turned to Amiboshi, "What whould we do, Aniki?" One thing was obvious, they were not going to that village, and Suboshi could tell his brother wanted to have nothing to do with this woman.
