The guide seemed to freeze as a higher authority took over and Riley's cold tones could be heard coming from 'his' voice unit "Zechs... yes, it would serve us well to assimilate him into our hive mind... if only for his knowledge..." she mused "I am still not entirely convinced yet but your proposition intriques me." before the lab door opened and Riley stepped out, dismissing the Guide, she looked carefully at the three strangers "Natassi Daala, civilian, little or no threat... Cameron Riggs, Bio-engineered clone of Jacob Riggs, threat level- Moderate... Autumn Piloqu, Gynoid, Threat Level -high..." she commented, analysing them then glaring at Riggs "The debt i owed to your progenitor Jacob Riggs was paid in full when i began making copies of him and ensuring his bloodline remained pure... to ensure his abilities would not be lost. The simple fact is this..." her gaze switching to Autumn, sensing she was the 'Prime unit' of this party "I do things my way, no questions or objections, if we assimilate enemy units to replace our lost then i do not want to hear any complaints... we do not have the same ethical and emotional restraints as individual AI units therefore we make more efficient soldiers... the reason why the UNSC wished to commit Genocide against us, believe me, if we even suspect the UNSC attempting to confront us we will not hesitate to initiate our emergency plan..."

Autumn paused a moment,"I'm not sending the UNSC or anything. I just need your help right now. The more people we have the easier this will be and more possible.... However I don't want an ally that can later backstab us in the middle of helping us. How can I be sure that since you have no attachments or other goals that I can offer to help you with, that you won't turn around and join Zechs at a moment thats oppurtune for you?"

Riley replied with her usual tone "The Hive Mind will not terminate a program until it's completion... besides our target is Zechs mind, with the data he posesses the Hive Mind would have little or no problem in dealing with UNSC threats, we are not inclined, nor capable, of backstabbing... we have no fear or ambition ergo no reason to do anything other than fulfil our part of the bargain." then sighed "I doubt you would 'appreciate' becoming a part of the Hive Mind therefore i shall gift you an Ambassador drone... to ensure communication between us is unbreakable." staring at Autumn "Like i said, as long as you do not object to our methods then i don't see why we shouldn't have a fruitful alliance..."

Autumn thought it through. "No I don't think I could appreciate that, just as you wouldn't be able to understand why I like the way I am."
Autumn thought it through a moment keeping her face unreadable. Autumn was glad there was no way to read a robots mind without being intrusive, she was not very happy about the idea of them getting a hold of Zechs mind. He should have been terminated long ago in Autumn's opinion. However they needed more allies and she would find a way to make it to where it would not be a danger that Zechs might be reborn somehow.
Autumn planned on making sure that no one got a piece of Zechs mind and she would do it with ehr bare hands if she needed. So there was no danger unless she couldn't get to Zechs first before the others. "Alright I can live with your methods just fine, how about you Admiral?"'
She didn't want ruin one alliance by making another that someone didn't agree to.

Riley glared, she knew Autumn would not agree to assimilating Zech's, possibly out of fear "I can assure you that assimilation would not allow Zechs any chance of individuality, ergo, no chance for escape or taking over or we can just rip the knowledge from him, it might make him less... responsive..." she commented.

Riley looked at Nataasi, if she had emotion she'd be smiling "Ah, one who understands the necessity of casualties in war, yes, one who understands the true nature of war, one who i can call an ally..." she spoke softly, now a little more relaxed "I might even consider allowing your party into my private laboratory..." turning to the doors, indicating she wanted them to follow her.

Autumn nodded as if she agreed with what Riley said,"I already promised you could have him." She was not worried about his individuality. What if they agreed with what wa sin his mind? Then they would have a whole hive that had the same beliefs as Zechs once did.

Asthey wlked into the labs Riley indicated what appearred to be clear sacks hnaging on the walls like eggs, one had something moving inside. Riggs sighed "this must be their biomechanics lab... syntheic lifeforms..." he explained as a tiny Koneko unit burst out of the sack, mewing softly.

Hoen Keg Samo sat upon his rich silk pillow and watched the asteroids float through the void. It was a peaceful activity. Much like watching ice form or leaves fall from a tree. After a few moments he closed his eyes and committed the scene to memory. He wished he could look longer but there was work to get done.
Seeing the world through the flow of magnetism he stood and actavated the ships speakers.
" Floating in the void .
Drifting on winds that none can feel.
Time unending have they seen.
Feel they the bite of our hook?
Know they the use to which they shall be put?
Do they bless our work?
Hauled in from the cold.
That most rare of gifts.
Let this beauty destroyed;
Give birth to beauty again."
With that hundreds of hooks shoot forth from the clan mining ship. Asteroids were pierced and reeled in. Ripped apart by the great engines, and melted for the precious Reh ore. It was all lesser ore of course but Hoen cared not. It would make great armor. Maybe he would even send some back to his mate. They were expecting the results of their first mating ritual to bear fruit soon, and the children would need armor if they were to begin training.
As they cleared their way through the field a large asteroid came into site. Thinking of of his beloved mate Hoen missed the slight pulse on the screen that would have told him it was inhabited. Spears shooting out into the void to pull the floating bulk in.
( alert You are under attack. Well not really. They have no idea your there. I have been waiting for a good time to bring in the Sun'Rhe. And get used to the horrid poetry. Hoen and his men are very expendable, but don't expect them to go down easy. )

Riley's eyes glowed red as she sensed the threat, beginning an auto broadcast "attention unidentified vessel you are entering our territory... i advise you turn your ship around and leave... peacfully... otherwise i will destroy your vessel... have i made myself clear? This asteroid field belongs to the Hive Mind and the Choke Squad... do not intefere with us..." she warned, makign it known she was preparing the defenses to fire at a second's notice.

A light bell tolled informing Hoen of a a threat to the operation. "Interesting" he whispered to himself. He would have the scouts that found this field brought before the clan. There was no reason that he should have met defending life forms, but while he was here he might as well add a few trophies to his collection. Typing up a quick note that he had found life and where he had it encoded into a cylinder.
The cylinders were the only fast method of intergalactic communication. Using a mass driver the metal tubes could be launched at speeds no other society they had met could match. The small projectile launched from the mining ship in a flash of light. Several asteroids were denigrated by the magnetic field that allowed solid matter to travel that fast without breaking down. Normaly mass driven projectiles phased through matter, but that didnt happen until they reached max speed.
The computed did some calculations and informed Hoen that the message would arrive 3 weeks in the prior to this moment now. Such was the problem with rushed Drives. They had a tendency to jump back and forth through time rather then be near instantaneous like a planned ship Drive.
On a plus note he now had his orders from the chief of the clan in a sealed envelope to be opened at this very moment, but he still had the bitter taste of fear in his mouth as he opened the envelope. There was a heavy price for using an emergency Drive if it was deemed unnecessary.
Inside was some news and his orders. The scouts had chosen to die in mortal combat against one another with the winner being declared clear of all dishonor. For his part Hoen was to eliminate the squatters who were on land calmed by the Rhe.
With a smile on his face he opens the com channels to what he hoped would be a grand battle.
" The mists will tinge

With that he closed all communication and donned his armor of mixed titanium and Rhe metal. Pulling his great hooked sword and mighty shield from the wall.
When he reached the gun deck his crew were already ready and armed. Grinning wide he brought up his wrist mounted command console that would let him control the ship remotely. He set it to strafe the enemy for maximum firing capacity.
The only thing that cam through the com to Riley was

( yes that's the poem in their language.
Quick fact: the unlegged mentioned in the poem are a life cycle of the Reh. )

Riley glared "The arrogance of organics never ceases to prove troublesome... I had intended to keep my forces hidden for longer but this invader will soon be the Choek Squad's first victim for a century..." her mind instantly analysing the enemy, formulating a battle plan and issuing it to the rest of her army "we have more than a few thousand soldiers and a handful of ships..." bringing up a screen showing a large chamber filled with thousands of soldiers, all faceless machines. She looked over at the party "You want to see just what we're capable of?" she asked as the entire base came to life, a massive drone fleet scrambling, pouring out of the asteroid "This is how uninvited guests are dealt with..." she glared as the fleet moved into position, three hundred different missile launchers all locked on, not including the surface-to-air cruise missiles. As the Engineering corps cut the tethers on the hooks with plasma torches, freeing the asteroid from the ship and making this conflict purely personal.

Hoen's wrist control signaled that the enemy had brought up their defenses. That was good. there was no challenge in attacking the unready. " To your guns! Grapple in as soon as you get a hit."
His crew each jumped into one of the many harpoon bays. The 40 of them eager to bring home a few trophys. Each of the mighty mass cannons fired great metal bolts at high speed. There were many kinds of bolt, but their favorite and the one they would be using now were the boarding bolts.Each bolt could be used as ether a magnet to draw in enemy ships or as an anchor to take their own crew across.
Hoen fired first and was satisfied to see his bolt pierce the side of the enemy ship. He noticed a shimmer where the both passed through the enemy shields. So the enemy used energy shields? He hadn't seen those in a while. When he saw a few more of his men make hits he turned the boarding key and felt his gun pod detach from the wall. He men followed suite.
The pods detached from the ship like fruit from a tree. Like lightning they shot across the void to slam into the enemy ship.
Hoen fell from his pod and looked around. He had made it to the enemy ship. Looking around he flexed his arms and went looking for a fight.
