sort of, Jake can't see all, only certain things at the momentr. This is not due to the inability but mostly because Jake is trying to hide the gift and refuses to embrace it, his demon self however was born from this refusal and as such can see whatever he pleases, to get answers, the demonm is who you'd want to talk to , which would require a powerful dark aura to summon him.

well yes I suppose he is a median, he's not that large on fighting, but will be willing to get involved when innocents are on the line
