Jazral hopped off his horse, his sword sheithed again. He and Denaths practice session had been cut shor, as markus wanted to make for Tear, and frankly Jazral had agreed with him. Denath though was eager to train, but he explaned to the man that again it would have to come at a later date. Dispite his likeing for the forest...something felt odd, maybe it was just the wolves stalking them he wasnt sure, in anycase they would be somewhat safer in the city. Jazral had donned his cloak again and hid his face as much as possible, Tear could be seen in the distance.
"hmMmm. I dont remeber this thing being here when I was here...although that was another life time ago, and I was but a young child" Jazral scratched his face, which by now had a bit of razor stubble on it. He hadn't shaved in a few days. Light he needed to shave.
"Such relics from ages long past are always a sight to behold Markus, but prehaps we should linger here no longer and make for the city, to deilver your letter"

Denath dismounted, following Jazral as the Warder made a closer inspection of the odd looking stone. Denath wasn't sure what it was, but he caught the word portal stone from Draz. He eyed the other man questionably. "You know what it is Draz?"
His heads snapped around, "The Age of Legends?" Glancing back at Draz he frowned, "This is from the Age of Legends and your asking why react to it so strongly?"
Unconciously, the eighteen year old rubbed the stubble covering his chin. "This didn't have anything to do with the Channeler we ran into the other day, did it?" He asked worriedly, glancing around suddenly expecting some kind of attack.

Nanako was still thinking over what Selene had showed her. True, she was able to expand and shrink the damn thing, but bouncing the ball of fire had only proved one thing... fire was hot and it burned.
Her hand still stung, although she pretended that nothing had happened. She'd survive it, but cursed all the while that she could do little to help it other then rub some salve on it... or ask for help. Something she refused to do.
Coming upon the stones, Nanako's mind utterly shifted to the present sight. It was amazing, and something she had never before seen. Dismounting and following Markus, she was more then eager to get a closer look.
Turning back and yelling to the Aes Sedai, she was now rapt with this new topic. "Do they have any idea what these once were... what they once stood for?"
Pouting at Markus's reply, she followed suit and touched the stone as well, a small shiver running through her body. What were you in ages gone past? What secrets do you hold?

He took a single step back from the Stone. Watching it with a wary eye, he surveyed the group again. Nozrin had stayed near the crest of a nearby hill, watching them with a frozen face. He was beginning to worry him. He wanted to help, but the man offered no chance to talk. He let it be. It was all he could do right now.
"You're right, Jazral. We should keep moving." As Darz, Jazral, and Denath went back to their mounts, he turned to motion everyone else back to their own rides, though he hesitated. He thought something out there had moved, but when he tried to find what it was, he saw nothing. Shaking his head, he took his first step back to his mount.

There was a tremor in her ward. Finally! Chalinda jumped up from where she had sat for several hours, and stopped dead in the realization that her legs were stiff and sore from the lack of movement. Doesn't matter now! Easily thought, but not so easily implemented. It took a couple of minutes to work the kinks out of her legs so that she could walk. Nearly boiling over with impatience, she wove a reversed Mask of Mirrors around herself, careful to use the minimum possible amount of the Power to avoid tipping off the Aes Sedai in the group she watched too soon, and slipped into invisibility. She walked around the column for a moment, studying it once more, noticing one symbol on it in particular. The shape seemed appropriately asymetrical to her. Satisfied, she approached the group.
She saw the gleeman. Perfect, he's behind the rest! Even better, both Aes Sedai and the older wilder were within the perimiter of the stone column. I couldn't have planned it better if I tried! Her gaze moved on, and she could not miss the sight of Gwynne.
Suddenly, there was a titanic struggle within her. Her orders were to take the gleeman, yet some part of her desperately needed to see the girl she had once been closer to than any other. My sister... She sank to her knees, holding her head as the wall of conditioning within her tembled against the assault of feelings she had ignored for years. Finally, she could bear it no longer, and a scream of fury and frustration tore from her throat.
Throwing herself wide open to saidar, Chalinda short-Travelled out of the stone's range and dropped all her other weaves. Before any of the group could even finish looking up, she picked out the symbol she had seen before and focused on it, channeling every drop of saidar she could draw into it. There was a momentary inversion of a half-sphere of space around the Portal Stone, and suddenly the five people who had been within it were gone.
Laughing wildly, half-mad with the joy of success and the clash of orders with feelings, Chalinda wove another gateway and stepped out only a few feet before Nozrin. Before the gleeman could finish blinking, or reach saidin, she had woven a complex weave of all five of the Powers, drawing it with vicious force tight around his mind. "Gleeman! You will distract those! Now!" Her gesture included everyone left behind except Gwynne.
She wove yet another short-range gateway, refusing to admit to herself the effort so many rapid and powerful weaves was taking. Now she stepped out only two feet before Gwynne. "Recognize me?" She laughed even more wildly than before at the look of utter horror on her sister's face. "I serve Shai'tan now, sister. Remember that!"
Turning away, Chalinda spotted Darz. The look of him was unmistakable; Moghedien had taught her much of the Age of Legends, and this man had the look of nothing less than an Aes Sedai of that time. "Aes Sedai!" she shouted. Sure enough, Darz's attention changed from the Portal Stone to her. Great Lord, no one told me I'd have to take on someone of the Hall of the Servants! Straining now, she pulled again at saidar and hurled a weave at him. It was nothing fancy, just a fireball that would disintegrate him as neatly as balefire would have, though with no destructive effects to the Pattern.
