The tiny child glanced up briefly at the ninja before shaking her head - the naive expression that had once been upon her features morphed into one of disdain and her eyes glowed briefly with a white light. The glow however caused her eyes to change and instead of the once innocent blue eyes, two very fierce feline eyes stared back at the ninja.
Slowly but surely, the child came to a halt - her movements almost delayed as she observed him and then she spoke.
"I believe that is not possible." The voice replied coolly, one much more mature than that of a simple child and after a few moments the child shook her head - extending a hand towards the ninja as a wraith like tendril began to snake its way from her fingertips and towards him.

Yui remained silent as Nakago spoke to her and said nothing but listened while he explained everything that had been going around in the palace. She slightly flinched at the mention of Miaka betraying her. Part of her didn't want to believe it yet the other part of her knew it to be true. But still....they had been best friends for a pretty long time. There had to be a reason that Miaka just abandoned her like that. There just had to be..Yui quickly snapped herself back into reality the moment Nakago kneeled next to her and lightly placed her hand on his shoulder, "There is nothing to apologize over and I cannot help but worry about you. Ever since I came to this world, you were always there for me and I want to be there for you. You're not only my seishi but a good friend to me." Yui softly spoke and exchanged Nakago with a faint warm smile before continuing on, "As for the situation at hand, I suppose this just means that we have to be one step ahead of everyone else." Yui spoke, begining to wonder if Miaka even cared about her at all but the words of Nakago telling her that he'll never abandon her brought warmth to her heart.

This was somehting he had never sen before, and he didn't know if he was equipped to combat...whatever it was. In one smooth motion, he flung his arm towards her and tossed down a small bag of powder that "exploded" into a cloud of smoke. Behind the cloud of smoke, he leapt back again and then up into the rafters, looking down and waiting for the dust to clear. The other's prepared their weapons and tricks waiting to see what would happen.:: ::Tenkou focused again on Tokaki.::
"This is not right....Something's wrong...Too convenient..."

"We should probably put off the transference of power from the Kutou Emperor until we have dealt with the issues at hand. A meal has been prepared and is waiting in one of the banquet halls. Perhaps we could discuss the next course of action while we replenish ourselves.
::He motiond with his other arm towards the hallway::

[***The Time is Nigh***]
The often say that mortals are the instruments of the gods - pawns upon a large chessboard that is their world. They do not see, nor hear what the gods above them do or say and yet they are well aware that these powerful entities are there...This was particularly important as the tiny child broke into a fit of coughing, covering her face with her hands as she released a loud shriek of fear.
The shriek served a particular purpose, this child would otherwise have not cried out through fear but her loud cry for help was enough to block out any of the thoughts Tokaki may have had whether they be his own or somebody elses. The shriek shot straight to his core and gritting his teeth, he released a loud roar of anger and leapt forward, diving into the now descending smoke cloud to retrieve the tiny child - whose ethereal tendrils directed him to her...
When she was at last within his arms she released a delighted giggle and pressed a kiss to his cheek, this of course invoked a smile from the young man and he quickly calmed - however, as the tiny girl continued to hug his neck, she glanced up into the rafters and mouthed one word.
Soon.
[***Winged Avenger***]
At last, the blind warrior began to descend upon Kutou, now clad in armour of silver and platinum, clothes of black and white he was no longer the image of a beggar. Rather, he would have been a sight to behold had he not masked himself as he drew closer to the palace.
Now that he was masked, by the large hawk like mask (think ff8 edea mask if it helps) he seemed to be able to see again and as he had been redressed her had selected his destination, one he considered wholey appropriate. He had decided not to simply drop in on his target - but rather to come from the opposing direction so as to not only catch him, but also to catch the beings that had inflicted such pain.
His target was of course Tokaki however the beings in which he sought to punish were not the seishi but rather he would strike at their heart; their priestess.
I was with this in mind that the man dropped down upon the palace, descending at such a speed as one would only assume that he was a bird rather than a person. He fell and fell and fell until at last he collided with the oppressive barrier that Nakago had erected and hurtled through it - at once the symbol of Toroki flared up from beneath his helmet, carving the symbol into the hawk like mask...
He continued to descend further for a few moments, a small smile of triumph crossing his lips and then, all at once, he curled the ethereal wings around himself and smashed straight through the roof of the palace sending debris across all areas of the crash zone, had he not rolled out of the way when he had landed the palace roof would have crushed him - but now he rested just beside the destroyed rooftop, his wings unfurling once more as he glanced around and focused directly on where he could sense the strongest of foreign chi.
The smile soon turned into a cruel smirk and he rose to his feet once more, dusting the debris and dust away from his legs before he began to approach the room in which the priestess lay - even if she moved by the time he would reach the abode - he would always wait.
After all, it was time to play.

Korin-Chan Subaru smiled at the explanation, something within her noted the peculiar fabrics and she had her suspicions that she was from a little more than a 'distant land' - nevertheless she held her tongue and instead, she focused on answering his question.
Where was she heading...?
"Kutou," She replied gently, "And from there I head to Sariou," She explained and shook her head, "I'm familiar with the route from Kutou to Sairou you know?" She murmured before canting her head to one side and observing the pair - that gentleman was terribly protective of her, could she be what Subaru assumed she was? ((*prodes at Miaka* Am I the only Suzaku left? o.o Eep. This really isnt making it hard for Seiryuu! >.>; )) Nuriko was a bit surprised by her answer. Perhaps she really wasnt who he thought she was after all. "Sairou? Thats quite the trip." He glanced up at the sky, the sun was beginning to set making the forest grow darker. "I dont think you'll get very far at the time. Do you have anywhere to stay?"

"I was seperated from my friends and I have nowhere to stay as I've never been here before, if worst comes to worse I'm sure sleeping in a tree will not be too difficult to do!" She chirped and flashed a slight smile.

"Your welcome to stay with us tonight at our friends house, its not very far away and tomorrow we can take you as far as we can to Kutou or at least find someone whos going that way." He smiled gently and reassuringly at her. "Don't worry, Im sure you'll met up with your friends soon. And I dont advise that you sleep in a tree. This place has been well known for having bats and other creatures that could cause problems."

She appreciated him taking the time to comfot her even though he didn't completely know her and after a few moments she bowed her head in thanks.
"If it's not too much trouble that would be most helpful," she replied gently, "But do not go out of your way! There is no need for you to go to places you have no desire to go to just for me nor do you have to offer me anywhere if it will take up too much space." She added and shook her head before examining the man for a long while.
"...Have I asked your name yet?"

He wasnt going to leave the girl out here alone in a foriegn land and if he did, Miaka would kill him. "Its no problem at all. We're heading in that direction anyways, but unfortunately we cant take you right to the border but Im sure we can find someone who can. Also, Tama-chans family would love to have you stay." He smiled, adjusting the small lump on his back. She was strangely quiet he had almost forgotten she was there, mostly likely had fallen asleep by now. "Oh, sorry. I'm Nuriko and the lump back there is Miaka."

Something struck a chord deep within Subaru and for a long while she simply gaped at Nuriko - she had at the time known he was strange, he had felt strange but now the name flashed up before her very eyes and she understood why he was so strange - he was one of the Suzaku seven and therefore his little guest must have been -
"The priestess of Suzaku!" Subaru chirped, her eyes widening as she observed Nuriko and then Miaka. She was standing before another priestess? Two at the same time were in this world?! This could spell disaster, she knew it but after a few moments she released a chuckle and sighed.
There was no point hiding it.
"Douin, also known as Subaru of the Byakko seven, although I assume you already knew as such..."

Nuriko was a little more than surprised at how she knew Miaka was a Miko. It didnt clue into him for a moment that instead of using his real name, he used his celestial name. Only warriors themselves or someone familiar of the legend would know of this.
"Er... hai."
He stumbled, he had to admit he felt a little disappointed that she wasnt one of the Suzaku Seishi, but at least she didnt seem to be their enemy. He didnt bother adding that fact that he had no clue she was from the Byakko Seishi. ^^;
"Ah, pleasure to meet you. Sorry its kinda crucial that we keep a low profile around here. Apparently we've made some enemies as of lately."

"That would make the three of us then," Subaru muttered glumly as she rubbed at the back of her neck, images of the encounters in Kutou flashing through her memory at that moment in time, images of pain but not on her part, on Tatara's...
"But I have to return home because I know I will find my companions there!" She chirped and shook her head, offering a slight smile towards him - "As for keeping a low profile, why don't you come to Sairou? It's very quiet and peaceful, plus you may find people of interest to you there at some point!" She offered before folding her arms across her chest and arching a brow.
"Unfortunately, as of late Kutou and Sairou have not been getting on with each other too well." She muttered as an after thought.

Yui said nothing as her eyes remained focused on Nakago while he spoke. Her thoughts slightly wandered off every now and then, trying to think of a way to help out in the matter but it seemed Nakago was right, like he always was, there really wasn't anything they could do for now.
"Hai Nakago." Yui replied as she stood up and waited for Nakago to lead the way since the palace was still pretty much a bit of a maze to her. She was a bit hungry and maybe if they got some food into their stomachs then they would be able to think more clearly. She couldn't help but worry about the situation at hand though. Why the Byakko had chosen to interfere with their summoning was beyond her. She didn't know what they would gain from it except Kutou becoming their enemy.

At least someone knew where their companions were. Damn Konan for being so big. "Sairou? I'm not so sure. We really need to find the other seishi to summon Suzaku. I dont think Miaka wants to remain here for an extended periods. We also lost Tama-chan back there again." He sighed and shook his head. That boy never stayed around longer than a moment when he thought he could be scrounging money. He turned back to Subaru again with a concerned look. "Kutou isnt the most friendly country it seems. Will you be alright travelling through it?"

He was right, Kutou was not a nice land but then again she did come from Nyosei which was worse than Kutou so she had seen it all.
"I'll be fine," She assured him and shook her head somewhat slowly, "Byakko will protect me and Kutou is not that bad so long as you avoid blondie and his cronies." She grumbled, her mind taking itself back to the encounters she and her friends had had with Nakago.
"As for your seishi - usually clearing your mind can allow you to sense them. They do give off a distinct aura."
