She would be down in ten minutes as promised, having put the whole wierd dream out of her mind for now. Karasu and Evan would have some time to talk before got down. She would pick at her breakfast but finish more than half of it still, and then be ready to go. She would be friendly and polite, yet remain quiet unless spoken to.

Hugin the Raven The man nodded before heading downstairs, where Karasu awaited. Upon seeing her and sitting at her table, he noted that she had a tarot deck along with her. Looking at her for a brief moment, one of his eyebrows raised, he said "Numerology? You dabble in the oddest things... not that I doubt your abilities. Wait until Melissa heads down here, then you can perhaps divest what will become of us.
"Speaking of the girl, there's something amiss about her. I want you to watch after her, understand? If anything goes wrong, do whatever you can to stop it." I will watch over her...*She flipped two cards down on top of the Tower and shook her head with a frown* But that girl child is no more of a child than I am apperently.... I was never the one fore a mystery like Munin you know, I like things straight forwards as possible
If I did not know better I would think that your Norns were clouding my perception again, but they lost their power over me at the same time that your gods fell from grace*Karasu passed a hand over the spread out cards, a breath of air picking them up and aranging them neetly in a pile once more* but then again, not knowing exactly what is going to happen next was part of the fun of being arround you my lord twisted

Evan smirked and said, "Last I checked, they were dead as well. I doubt they had any power over you in the first place- most of the time, you were correct about many things. So then, shall we have a reading? Or was that it?
"And please... don't call me that again."
He couldn't help but wonder if her abilities still worked. After all, things had changed. If she were still capable, they would know what to expect, what to look out for, things of that sort. But mostly he was asking out of curiousity. If she gave no awnser or informed them that the reading was finished, so be it. They'd leave anyway. Blind, sure... but didn't all good quests start that way?

*There was deffinatly a hint of a smile on her lips as Karasu waved a hand over the deck again and an invisible wind lifted and then proceded to shuffle the cards, if they were watching closely Melissa and Evan might note that the down side of all the cards appeared to be blank while the top side all had the same patter of a spoked wheel with the All Seeing Eye in the center. She placed both her hands on the table and the cards spread out to slowly rotate about half a foot from the surface, it was flashy, but this was almost like a morning exersise for her, a little show of control and power* Select three cards each please, place them face down on the table in front of you... the future is made up of infinite possibilities, each person has the ability to change the outcome of any event... always remeber that the future is not set in stone!

Evan silently picked his three, closing his eyes in order to do so. He always tended to pick three at random, and never the same three cards. It was interesting to find out what came forth, but he was careful all the same, for the cards tended to read correctly most of the time... And now that the Norns were dead, they were bound to be almost 100% accurate if the right- or wrong moves were made.

*karasu plucked three cards out of the floating deck and flipped them over, the blank white changing into the 3 of Swords, the 10 of Pentacles, and the high arcana card Priestess.* Hum... danger, treasure and a woman of power we seek... but you already knew that, the past is clear to all, even if it is sometimes not so easy to speak about. *the rest of the deck continued to rotate as Karasu waited on Melissa to pick three cards, the end result would be based on all the cards that were revealed, but for the moment she flipped over Evan's first card* 8 of Wands... a warning not to try and cary too much alone, don't try to keep things all to yourself sir or we could all pay for your misstake. *She flipped over his next card with a frown* The tower again... perhaps this is more a sign of what to look for than the true meaning of the card... *Karasu reached for the third card and snatched back her hand with a look of surprise* That card is not yet ready to reveal its secrets stare

The Tower.
Evan frowned as the card was overturned. An ill omen- one that signified sudden change. Changes that were most of the time violent and chaotic. He figured there'd be danger along the path, but not chaos. His face returned to its neutral state as the third card was flipped. Blank.
"I hope you don't mind if I keep this one. I'd like to see what it becomes later on."

*She nodded her mind still on the Tower card, wondering how luck could have turned on them so fast as to bring that to the table...* It will reveal its secrets when it is ready stare ... but it had best not take too much time, I am not as pacient as I once was... *Karasu turend her attention to Melissa, a smile spreading across her face, sweet, coy... and totaly fake it was her attempt at being kind to the child, but most would understand that this strange woman did not offten allow "nice" to be a part of her attitude* We eagerly await what the cards have to say for you my dear

((Feel Free to puppet my character for simple actions like following along. I'll try to post as much as possible, but I'll be slower than I used to be. xp ))
Melissa actually smiled at the floating cards despite a generally neutral mood, she had never seen anything like it before. All the talk seemed vague and high-minded, like that old man in her dream.
"Okay," Melissa said. "Three cards."
She didn't like fortunes, but had the strange feeling it would be a bad idea not to pick three cards, so she picked three at random. She wasn't nervous, simply pointing three cards out very quickly
"I hope its a good fortune!" she said, smiling politely.

Evan raised an eyebrow. She seemed awful hasty about choosing her cards, but it was just as well. He wanted to get this over with as well. Looking towards Karasu with his usual piercing gaze, he wondered what her cards would reveal.
At first, he had asked her just out of curiousity. But now, he was starting to wonder if this would come to pass. It was always good to know what to watch out for... sure, telling fortunes was an old way to do it, but the old methods usually were the best ones.

*Karasu pointed at each card in turn that Melissa had chosen* 9 of Pentacles, another sign of treasure to be had. The page of wands... hum a sign to be creative and confidant.... 8 of cups...*She frowned as the sun and moon in the top left corner of the card suddenly started to glow*well... they haven't done that in a while stare *the cards began to spin faster as they floated above the table* a deeper meaning can be found... clarifying card please? *the deck actually obliged by flipping over a fourth card* The Hierophant... keeper of keys and divine secrets...well I do believe we have to find ourselves a hierophant 3nodding They hold the key... although at this point in time I have no idea if that is literal or metaphysical sweatdrop *the cards slowly shuffled themselves back into a neat and tidy pile in front of the elemental*

The reading was all too accurate. Melissa was going to get a bit of something out of this as well; of this, Evan was positive. If not an adventure, which she didn't seem to mind, then something else. But what that something was, they would have to find out along the way. The page was a good sign as well, or rather, good advice.
She still had it, though one had to wonder what all of this meant. And of course, they couldn't ask for a reading for Karasu- it wouldn't work. It never did. In any event, Evan's blank card was stored within the folds of his long, black coat, waiting for the proper time for revelation.
"Well, now we know what to look for. Let's just hope that one of those two objectives are in these mountains."
He looked back on the Hierophant. The sage- keeper of divine knowledge and secrets. Twin card to the High Priestess; they were the keepers of the keys indeed. But what key, and to what door? It seemed that these questions would have to be answered later. For the moment, breakfast had long since been over.
He stood up, dusted himself off, and checked his gear. When he was satisfied, he nodded towards Melissa and Karasu.
"Let's get moving."

Melissa attempted to listen intently. Snippets of the conversation from her dream kept coming mind which she threw back whenever she could, as she didn't want to deal with think about it. She said nothing. Karusu 9 of Pentacles, another sign of treasure to be had. Treasure? I have Evan, he's a treasure. But she said treasure to be had, what does that mean?Tell Evan I do hope he finds whatever it is he's looking for. Wish him luck for me.Karusu The page of wands... hum a sign to be creative and confidant.... 8 of cups.. How do I do that? You aren't very bright, are you kid...A hero faint? What does that mean?" A mere personification of something beyond the scale of your limited imagination........
I am the oldest being in the universe afterall.Karusu *the cards slowly shuffled themselves back into a neat and tidy pile in front of the elemental* Cool! And Evan gets to keep a card, the tower card. Welcome to the void, little girl.Melissa shuddered a little at the last thought, she wanted to forget that stupid dream. mad Evan "Well, now we know what to look for. Let's just hope that one of those two objectives are in these mountains." He looked back on the Hierophant. The sage- keeper of divine knowledge and secrets. Twin card to the High Priestess; they were the keepers of the keys indeed. But what key, and to what door? It seemed that these questions would have to be awnsered later. For the moment, breakfast had long since been over. He stood up, dusted himself off, and checked his gear. When he was satisfied, he nodded towards Melissa and Karasu. "Let's get moving." One of Evan's cards had said something about a warning not to carry to much alone, Melissa thought, maybe I should tell Evan about that stupid dream I can't forget. Nah, it was stupid and I'll forget it once we get outside. Besides, that was Evan's card, not mine.Melissa didn't want to admit it, even to herself, but she was even more afraid of how Karusu might interpret it. "I'm ready!" she said. Her smile, even her eyes, seemed blank and distant.

Before he headed out of the tavern, he looked behind him at Melissa. He couldn't help but wonder what was wrong... earlier that morning, he had felt something- an anxiety. He felt it again, and noticed the blank expression on her face. There was something she wouldn't tell him, and it was irking her to no end.
Taking a few steps toward her and kneeling down, he fixed her with his purple eyes.
"Stop pretending like you don't know me... and tell me what's wrong. We're not leaving until you do," he added, looking behind him at Karasu for a moment.
No beating around the bush. They needed to clear this up.

Evan "Stop pretending like you don't know me... and tell me what's wrong. We're not leaving until you do," "I'm sorry," she said, "It's just a really stupid thing. It's nothing important really, and I......... I'm sorry Evan. It's not something I really want to talk about with so many people around. I promise to tell you about it later, you'll laugh. It's so stupid."Melissa was being polite, she really didn't want to talk about her dream in the presence of Karusu, being embarrassed about and afraid how it would be interpreted.
