Ria snuck behind one of the gaurds, and waited for a signal-any signal-from Kahlan to take him out. She didn't want to mess up in anyway. Not after she had gotten this far.
Lilith continued to take out soldiers, although she was doing minor damage compared to what the others fighting were. By her calculations they had enoguh firepower to hold out against, and defeat atleast some of the troops, although she knew they were horribly outnumbered.

"Och, it's loike Oi'm back in th' old army!" Cas was having the time of his life, despite the injuries that were starting to accumulate on his body. He gleefully swung at his enemies, sword crashing on armor. Heck, this was better than eating!!

Kahlan brang her hand down in a slashing motion. That signal meant Ria was supposed to take out the guards. Both of them seemed almost dazed as if they were in "la-la land', so they were definitely unsuspecting. Kahlan repeated the same motion again, then relied on Ria to dispose of the last two guards, in any way possible.

Ria nodded, and in one swift motion, grabbed the backs of the gaurds heads, slamming them together with a force strong enough to knock them both out for several hours atleast, yet it still didn't make any noise. After doing so she looked at Kahlan expectantly, waiting for any more signals or orders.

Now that the guards had been taken care of, they were free to enter their destination. The room with the battle-crest. Looking around one more time for any sign of danger, Kahlan opened the door. When it was opened, Kahlan cursed.
No...
There, standing just outside the door way, were a hundred fully-armed D'haran troops, their weapons pointing directly at them. A man in the very back calmly addressed them.
We have been waiting for you, Kahlan...come, sit down and we will have a talk. Unless...you'd rather fight your way out?
Kahlan had only mere seconds before the troops would be on her, so as quickly as she could, she commanded Ria to use her rune's ability. The only problem was, was that Ria didn't have enough power to make them both invisible. Time froze as Kahlan looked into Ria's eyes. They were sending her only one message...."please Ria...run..."

Ria's eyes were determined, the look she gave Kahlan said only one thing-that she would not leave without Kahlan. She had finally gotten friends in this life, and she would not leave them. She would not loose them. And she would prove how good a friend she was. She then gave Kahlan a pleading look, beging her to let the rune be used for her, if anyone.

As the troops charged, Kahlan raised her rune hand in the air. The man that had addressed them just seconds before, yelled at the top of his lungs.
Do not let her use the rune! Kill her!
Despite the extreme possibility of her rune actually doing something, it did. Like few times before, the orb embedded in her hand started to glow a milky-white, then burst with a blinding light. As the magic worked, swords and axes were tearing into Kahlan's body, severing major arteries and veins, blood spewing everywhere. As she continued to be mutilated, the rune continued to engulf nearby soldiers, sucking their very souls into the white void. Kahlan had already been dead seconds before, but against all odds, her body remained standing. Eventually, one-by-one, the troops disappeared, vanishing into nothingness. Finally, Kahlan's limp body fell to the ground, choking on her own blood. With the last bit of strength, Kahlan directed her voice at Ria.
P-P-Please....R-Ria....more will come...you must take the battle-crest and f-f-flee...
As she continued to garggle her own blood, the last remaining words were what shocked Ria the most. They were said, but Kahlan hadn't moved her mouth. They were:
Take the rune, and head to Mount Crondar...there you will find what you seek...do it, or the they will continue to hunt you...
((Don't worry, Kahlan is not dead...well, actually she is, but she will return later in the story. Why would I kill off my favorite character?))

Tears streamed down Ria's cheeks-but she wouldn't leave Kahlan here, never. Grabbing the battle crest a quickly picking up Kahlan's body, she left as quick as she could, tears streaming down her cheeks still.
Lilith-being as observant as she was-must have been the first to notice. Seeing Kahlan's limp body she breathed, "Oh my God...."

((For now, I will be RPing Zanzar until Kahlan is "revived"...))
Even though they were not blood-related, Zanzar had always acted like a big brother to Kahlan. He was there when she took her first step, said her first word, and even when she swung her first sword. He had taught her many things, but all those days of training he had spent with her seemed pointless now. He had failed her. He had failed to protect his baby sister. Slowly, he walked up to Ria and picked up Kahlan with his massive arms. And for the first time in his whole life, he cried...

It hurt Ria to see Kahlan now, so she turned her head, Kahlan's last words still burning fresh in her mind, "I bin told dat 'er latht wordth were...'Take de rune, an' head ta Mount Crondar dere you 'ill find what ya theek' The words seemed to fade from her mind, almsot as soon as she said them.

Birgit was more then a little sad that her friend had passed but she knew it was not safe there. With what little engery she had left she opened a portal just like when she first saved Kahan and looked around the group. "We go now. It be the only way Kahlan's final want is filled." Her grammer was worse then before for she was so upset. "Kahlan not want us die here."

Ria nodded, still keeping her eyes away from Kahlan's limp body, trying her best to avoid the pain of it. "I bin told dat Ria agreeth wit Birgit..." She fell silent then, not sure of what to say-if anything-next.

As Zanzar, still carrying Kahlan, walked through the portal, he spoke.
Birgit, how close can you take us to Mount Crondar? It will take us weeks if we walk. We need to get there as soon as possible!
It was obvious that Zanzar was angry, but who wouldn't be if someone so close to them died?

"Ifn givin chance Birgit get real close. Birgit havta rezt first doh." She language was slipping by the second as she ushered them all through the portal to her little boxed in room where she had first taken Kahlan. "Be puttin her on the bed and find a seat. Nobudn be finding here." Birgit said taking her spot on her trunk. Here she could rest and they could mourn in peace.

Zanzar and the others sat in the Birgit's room sliently. There wasn't much to say. Kahlan had died for their freedom from Lunaris Rahl. Now that they had the battle-crest, they could cross the border and slay the evil tyrant. But first, they had a mission. A mission on Mount Crondar...
