AltimaCorp I'm wondering how it is River got into the cyro box. During Serenity (film) when Simon rescued her, she was conscious and lucid. So how does one go from being able to escape government officials to being naked in a cyro box? That's one thing that bothered me. See Simon says: Zoë: How'd you do it? Simon: Money. And-and luck. For two years, I couldn't get near her. Then I was contacted by some men, some underground movement. They-they said that she was in danger, that-that the government was... playing with her brain. If I funded them they could sneak her out in cryo, get her to Persephone, and from there, I could take her... wherever.with this comment it looks like all he did was pay them and they brought her to him. But in the movie he also payed them and played a roll in the escape. i wonder if Simon just left that part out on purpose, to down play his involvement to a group of people he at that time did not know to well. or if this was just a mistake added by the writers to help jump start the film. you know start with some form of action and intro the Operative.

But in the movie he also payed them and played a roll in the escape. i wonder if Simon just left that part out on purpose, to down play his involvement to a group of people he at that time did not know to well. or if this was just a mistake added by the writers to help jump start the film. you know start with some form of action and intro the Operative. i now have the answer to your question and mine. okay here goes..Simon play a role in here break out..he used the money he had to help fund these people which in turn helped him get into the place that River was in. the ship we saw in the prologue of the movie..then one that picks Simon and River out of the shaft..belong to Simon...the ship only had room for one so he had to talk River into getting in the cryo box...which she did. after that those people help Simon get to Persephone..where he got aboard Serenity. How do i know this..well it was all explained in the Serenity Book that was based off the movie. a whole chapter is devoted to it.

I would like to answer one question. Why is River so smart? River has a good amount of mental disorders. Most really crazy people are very smart. If you ever meet someone with I think it's something with an identity problem in their brain, they are extremely intelligent. I took my first Psychology class in college and I can't remember the name of it..

Those people are often very gifted in one particular area that they can focus on, rather than being fantastic at everything xp

So i just went back and read my post explaining about simon's rescue of river, well i noticed that i really butchered the english language in that post. sorry about my horried grammar and im a deeply sorry. I should have proof read that before i posted. o well, its water under the bridge now.

Star_Lily I think River is such an intriguing character because she's broken. If she wan't crazy, everyone would be like "she is such a Mary-Sue" and no one would like her at all.
I agree. That she's broken is what makes her so intriguing. And then, I'm just attracted to weirdness, like moths to light. And, as has been said before, she's beautiful. I love the occasional insane things she does/says, like wanting to marry her brother, or slashing Jayne with the knife lol.

Usually people with that many gifts tend to focus on just one or two that truly interest them. What make River unusual is that she loves them all and so developes tham all. That's why, cahracter wise, she had to be f***ed in the head. Perfect people aren't interesting.

She was a polymath genius before the crap that made her crazy. She was also a stable and well adjusted human being. She even had the potential to be amazing as a fighter if she chose to do so, since we know she was a gifted dancer. The only thing she couldn't have developed herself was the mind reading thing. What they did to her brain to bring that ability out and the various other mucking about they did in her head is what made her nuts, not some predisposition that also made her brilliant. Once again, I'm not saying that such things don't happen. Just that it didn't happen to River. She's only crazy because the alliance went poking around in her brain.
