"Viridian City, watch out! 'Cause I'm gonna be your newest poke'mon master!"
Jamie shot into the city, red in the face and panting hard, but still grinning widely. Could this day possibly be any better? Her first match, even though she'd lost, had been awesome and now she was in Viridian, all in a matter of hours! To this girl, whoever said "take it one step at a time" was out of their mind, she was definately one for biting off more than she could chew. She rounded a corner and ran face-first into the glass sliding doors off the poke'mon center.
"Ow..."
She stepped back, rubbing her nose. A few people were whispering and laughing at the antics of the city's new arrival. Jamie pulled open one of the doors and walked in, laughing and holding her hand to her bleeding nose. Nurse Joy was laughing softly behind the desk.
"That wasn't very smart, now was it? * snicker* Did you want me to heal your poke'mon? And would you like some ice for that?"
Jamie grabbed Sakki's ball and threw it to Nurse Joy, who caught it as though she'd done it hundreds of times before.
"I'm fine, but could you fix up Sakki? We had a pretty rough battle. Heather should be here soon, too. You'll have to heal her rattata."
She pulled a blanket out of her bag and wiped the blood off her face, wincing a bit.
"Are you sure you're ok? Chancey, fix up this Spearow, please."
She opened the ball and let Sakki out onto the Chancey's stretcher as it walked by.
"Yeah, I'm really fine. Nothing's broken, see? It stopped bleeding."
Nurse Joy laughed.
"You have to be the strangest trainer I've ever met."
She walked into the back room after the chacey, still giggling.
Jamie flopped down onto one of the couches.
I'm SO hungrey...but I'd better wait for Heather...or go to the poke'mart...or go see a movie....or go shopping...or turn on the tv...or...
She sighed again, standing up with her bag. Sakki would be in there for at least an hour, she had plenty of time.
"I'm gonna get a HUGE cheeseburger, then I'll go to the poke'mart."
She stepped outside again, squinting in the sun.
"Wow, really bright out. Where'd everybody go? I'll never find the poke'mart without directions, this city is huge!"
She walked down a few streets, still not finding anyone.
"Hellooooooooooooooo?"
Thinking she heard footsteps behind her, Jamie turned around quickly, just to find herself still alone.
"'Ello?"
She shuddered. How creepy! She turned the corner and found herself face-to-face with a young man, just a few years older than Jamie. He gave a yelp and shot off in the other direction.
"Hey! Wait! WAIT!"
She sighed. And the people here thought she was weird? But...something about that guy. He'd seemed almost...almost...familiar?
"Oh well...I'd better just go back to the poke'mon center and wait for Heather. She probably knows the way around this place."
