"So...what are we looking for? Bloody claw-marks on the walls? Bits of people lying about? I'm out of my element, here. Most of my work is done after a decent breifing by whatever side I"m plopped into. I don't usuly gather my own intl. jcques said, skifting a few light daggers ou of his sleeves and jugglnig them to keep his hands busy.on of them seemd to flash gren in the light occaisionally, but it was probably just a weird reflction, probably. "So, Kaelrin, is it? you're the one who's the hunter here, so where should we start? i know a few cults in the area, we could hit them up for infortmation.." he continued, trying to be helpful.

Rei pondered the information she had picked up on the streets recently. "It would help if I knew where I was supposed to be heading, too... I mean, I AM the guide, but I'm not quite sure where I'm supposed to be guiding all of us... I've been seeing some strange events in alleyways and such, but I'm not sure whether to pass that off as actual demonic activities or just the regular crooks and criminals. I hate to say that although this is generally a safe area, my cafe has attracted more than a few types of people the town could do without. State alchemist hangout or not, there's always something devious being plotted in the general area." Rei decided to veer away from the subject of her personality change. No one could work well under that kind of mental pressure, and this was definately not the time to be self-concious.

Kaelron remained silent, only crouching down to the ground and placing his right hand on the ground, closing his eyes. Suddenly, the entire place seemed to turn gray and different shades of white and black where light and shadow were, images of people who had passed through in the past appearing all around them, phasing through them at times as the past seemed to come alive around them.
Suddenly, when all was dark around them during the night of a past day, three shapes scampered by swiftly before stopping to look around, their color also dark like the environment...but off by a drastic scale - it was like seeing a black object in broad daylight to Rei and Jacques. When the three shapes scampered off further ahead and out of sight, Kaelron opened his eyes and the world around them turned back into the present.
As he stood up, he brushed himself off. "They will know I'm coming...but now we know where they went, presuming you two were paying attention," he said simply. "If not, and you were admiring seeing the events of the past few day occur without worry...know that I know where they went. We'd best hurry, before they strike again or escape - this might be our only chance at stopping them before more life is lost."
With that, he started off in a brisk walk, not waiting for them. He was determined to stop the demons before they moved...and he didn't care for back-up now. Rei was the guide and would know if they were heading into more trouble...and Jacques had a knowledge of other bits of information that could prove crucial to their success...as well as their survival.
But he wasn't thinking things through now. Revenge was the only thing on his mind...dealing his own kind of dark justice upon the black stain on the world of the unnatural.

"Well then, I guess we're off." taking after Kaelron, hands hidden by his sleeves. "That was a nice trick there, what was that?" Jacques asked, not having yet spent much time studying magic.

Rei scampered after them, taking the side furthest from the sidwalk, next to Jacques. She looked around boredly, her head in another place, until an aggravated and obnoxious voice caught her ear. "Shoot! Ah, in here! Hurry!" Rei slammed into Jacques' side, which proved to be a bad idea being that he was much more solid that she, but managed to knock all three of them off into a narrow alleyway masked by shadows. She peeked her head around the corner, glaring. "Mustang..." She hissed grudgingly. "Listen carefully. Honda just dissapeared from my sight a little while ago... I'm heading to that cafe of hers right now. I don't know who she's with or what she's doing, but it has something to do with those little notes I found lying around the streets... Keep an eye out for her. I have a feeling she's not up to anything good." Rei held her breath until the Colonel walked swiftly past them. She turned to her companions. "Great... Well, Central's keeping an eye out for me, so we're going to have to try to make this as... unnoticable as possible." She stepped back out into the street after Mustang turned a corner. "I really hope you know what you're doing, Kaelron..."

"Mustang..mustang... why does that sound familiar?... I recognize that guy, wasn't he with us at Ishbal, Rei?" Jaques asked, digging through his memories for a clear picture of the guy. "I know I've seen him before, and I even recognize his name.."

"Yeah," she responded, a dry smile on her face, "He was in the war. Pretty brutal, too, he was... He and I have, how should I put it... Kept in touch over the years. We're not always on each other's good sides, you might say." She stepped a little further out into the street when she was sure Mustang wasn't about to wander back around the corner. "Well?"

"Wait! I remember now! Isn't he the guy that does the whole bombs-out-of-thin-air thing? I never really got to know him that well. No wonder I couldn't remember him." Jacques said, snapping his fingers like Mustang would.

Rei crossed her arms, rolling her eyes. "Yeah, Flame Alchemist. He's now got himself the goal to become Furher..." She shuddered at the mere thought. "Agh, could you imagine, that guy as Furher? This place would be even worse than it is already... We'd all be doomed...And then he'd put me in jail for sure...or...Oh God, worse..." Rei whimpered as she pictured the uniforms Mustang had promised her the women personell would be wearing once he had reached his goal. She clung to Jacques' arm. "Oh, God, I hope these demons find HIM before we do!"

((It seems so))
Jacques snickerd quietly to himself. She thinks this guy is so much worse than th curent regime. if only she knew how Mustang's little coup d'etat really works out. He thought. "It really can't be that bad, he looks like a pretty competant officer." He said, not alluding to his inner thoughts at all.

"Eh... I don't know if I'd say THAT much for him..." She grumbled, her hands on her hips as she waited expectantly for Kaelron to give more directions. "Come on, I haven't got all day."
((Erm, I think we're going to have to figure out where he's been... this entire section REALLY cant progress without him, if you know what I mean. I'll send him a PM and see what's going on.))

Kaelron wasn't expecting it, but when they got knocked out into an alleyway he wasn't happy...but it cleared his mind for a moment. When he heard Rei say 'Mustang', he knew it ment trouble. They didn't know it, but Mustang and Kaelron knew each other...and it wasn't a very friendly relationship. Fact of the matter was, he was once sent to kill Mustang, but realized it was just a ploy to divert his own attention, so he let Mustang live at the agreement that they never speak of it again, which caused Kaelron some trouble and made him have to lay low for a while.
Then he started thinking and began to realize that he caused his friend Alex Rictor some trouble, causing HIM to have to leave town for a while...one of the many reasons he vanished for months on end. When Mustang left the area, Kaelron only had one thing to say about the problem.
"That pyromanic of a crazy kid...good call on pulling us out of his line of sight," he said, leaning against a wall, thinking. If Mustang was looking for Rei, and had Central looking for her also, it could prove pretty bad for this job...if it could even be CALLED a job by now.
"Mustang and Central's looking for Rei...the demons know I'm coming for them...this could prove to be a problem..." he thought out loud to himself before looking at Rei out of the corner of his eye. "Rei - how big is the forces of Central around these parts? Also, do you or Jacques know of any other obstacles that could impede our progress?" he asked.
But if there was something else that could possibly 'impede' their progress, it was the fact that his shadow seemed...odd, and it wasn't because it was stretched across the brick wall he was leaning against due to the lighting. Something about it seemed...off, though only Kaelron himself could pinpoint the problem.
That problem was that sometimes, a shadow demon couldn't quite find an angled position comfortable for too long before it started to twitch in pain.
((I'm sorry for vanishing like that...I'll try to be around more often!))

"Well, I am a wanted man in over 13 separte glaxies for saving people, righting wrongs, and general do-goodery, but I don't think they can follow me here. Regardless, there are afew things we might want to avoid, specifically the martketplace. Too many places to hide, and way too many possible casualties." Jacques said, looking at Rei and Kaeron to gauge their reaction to what he said.

Rei nodded, agreeing with Jacques. "In the backalleys, they really don't bother coming around the area too often. As long as we avoid passing my cafe and certain busy streets, I don't think we'll have too much of a problem... Mustang's going to be held up in my place for a while. There's plenty of people he knows in there... many seeking revenge." She chuckled, going mentally through the list of regular customers that had vowed to get Mustang back for something or other he had done, from killing relatives in the war to giving them too much paperwork in the office. Surely, he'd have his hands full. "And as for the others, well, I don't think it'll be too bad as long as we make sure to keep an eye...out...for... Kaelron...?" Rei looked behind her for a moment, at the sun, and all around. Then she turned around and she was staring wide-eyed at something past the mysterious man. "Call me crazy, but... your shadow... is not standing still... 'standing'...?" Rei's brow furrowed, and she gave Jacques a brief and worried glance. The flicker of movement she was sure she had witnessed - POSITIVE. She ground her teeth together, and her left hand twitched as she gripped a blade hidden under her clothing, prepared for anything.
