"Not many can manipulate energy at all, let alone get it to stay in a container of their own will." Saradin plucked up and handled carefully the potential weapon. "Something like this could have many uses ranging from convenient to lethal.."

"I don't think you can call it manipulation. It just comes and goes as it pleases now really." Khenu walked around to a chair next to Saradin pulled it out and then stood in it so he could look at his creation as well. "I got the idea from my boomerang."
To show he pulled out his boomerang and faced it to Saradin. With a finger he pointed to the ruby that was inlaid into it's center and indicated the small electricity bolts that seemed to be locked within the gem and bounced around it yet never leaving it. "Don't know how this happened, but it was after those shadow things were here and my powers were freaking out."

Eclipse was halfway listening to their conversation, but was mostly glaring at the egg in his position. He always hated babysitting and this seemed just like it. Stupid egg put a lid on all the fun he could be having. "Hatch stupid thing." He muttered to the egg quietly. How was he going to wait two more days, lying around, with an egg in a bowl, trying to keep it safe, and not drive himself insane from boredom?

"That's very interesting Khenu. You've done a lot of good work with making these things, even if the boomerang was never intended. Something to be proud of." Saradin returned the electo-ball to its proper owner and changing the subject. "To celebrate, why don't we grab something delicious. I've been wanting an excuse to pull out something I made today." Dropping off his glass by the fridge as he passed, he entered the meat locker. A minute later he returned carrying a small chocolate frosted cake in a sealed container. "I hope you don't have the same problem with chocolate that other dogs do Eclipse."

Eclipse grasped the edge of the bowl in his jaws and stood, approaching the table. He set his nest bowl on the table and jumped up in an unoccupied chair and licked his muzzle. "Not a dog, no problem, bring on the cake."

Khenu carefully picked up the glass orb, placing it into a pouch on his belt. "Sounds good to me!"
He watched Saradin disappear into the freezer then come back out. He knew it was cake, he could spot that a mile away. But chocolate? He smiled brightly and sat in his chair. "You did say chocolate right?"
The young boy had been denied the treat where he came from. All part of his village's collective punishment for his powers and looks. Heck he hadn't ever even chewed a piece of gum let alone get to eat chocolate anything.

Saradin cut his cake into six pieces handing out one to both of the others and one to himself. "Yes, chocolate. It's a wonderful dessert, cake." He took a bite with his fork. "Eclipse, youre a lucky one then." He took another mouthful savoring his own skills put to the test. "I enjoy getting to eat my work as much as making it."

Khenu smiled widely at the cake in front of him then gave a lopsided grin to Saradin as he remembered his manners. "Thank you Saradin."
Manners said he dug into his cake with the fork he had been supplied with and took his time savoring the treat. Chocolate was a good thing. A very good thing at that. The boy's plate was soon empty and he was wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
Talk about inhaling one's food. That had to be a record for Khenu seeing as he usually took time with every scrap of food that came his way. Not comfortable with silence Khenu ventured a question. "How come every one sleeps in the day around here?"

Unlike his usually habit of diving nose first into cake, he took his time, first licking off frosting then nibbling at the cake itself. He wasn't going to let himself get rowdy and end up knocking the nest bowl from the table and break the egg. No. He was growing to prove to that winged lizard that he could take care of the egg. He gave a look to Khenu as he licked at his muzzle. "They're just night time people, that's all. Well...most of them are anyway." He jumped down from the table and retrieved hsi nest bowl with the egg in it, curling up on the floor around the bowl. He decided upon a nap.

"Oh. Adults are weird." He smiled brightly. "I hope that I'm not a night person when I get older. I like the daytime too much." He grabbed his plate and walked it over to the sink, setting in there along with his fork.
"Thanks again Saradin. I'm off to train with my rang then for a while." He waved at the two as he left accompanied by a cheerful laughter as he exited the kitchen.
((Cya...I only had till 11 to be on.))

"You just inhaled that didn't you Khenu? Take another piece if you are that hungry." He finished his own and took a second slice eating it slower but still seeming to finish as quickly. "Though you cant just overload on sweets, we can get away with it this time. As for everyone else here, I don't think they sleep as much as we think. Many times I think we just never see one another in this vast place, signs of passing in missing food items from the kitchen. But there also seems to be something stranger about this place." He glanced over at Eclipse, raising an unasked question. "Goodbye Khenu, try not to injure yourself."

Nailah yawned and opened her eyes. The sun was extremely bright and she blinked. Rasui was laying on her chest sound asleep. She looked around and saw that she was laying amidst the thyme in the herb garden. Sitting up she pulled random bits out of her hair. She gently lifted the cat off her stomach and laid on the sun-warmed bench. Standing, she made her way inside to see if anyone was up.
Rasui opened an eye and watched her mistress lift her and set her back down. She would join her later. Right now she was still tired. Adjusting herself to a comfortable position she went back to sleep.
Nailah stumbled inside and finally stopped in front of Aura's door. She thought about knocking but decided she needed her sleep. She walked to her room and after searching found a piece of parchment and a quill. She quickly scribbled out a note for Aura to come find her when she woke up. Yawning she sealed it and slipped it under Aura's door. Hopefully she would be awake but she was too tired to worry about that now. She walked back to her room and crawled beneath her silk sheets, sighing at the seductive slide of silk over her heated skin.
((Sorry guys, didn't have a long time to be on. And since everyone is in vampire mode...i missed you all. but i'll try to be on later.))

It was like a broken message, seperate words being delivered intermitantly and in the wrong order. So was the jumble of things colliding inside Saradin's mind. Still whatever was happening carried no meaning, but it felt like it had tremendous importance. For now all he coul do was ride through whatever it was, and catalog the jumbled meanings to decode when he could. Soulforge clicked back into its sheath, and Saradin reentered the manor, hoping to find revelation in the bottom of a glass.

Nailah woke up and immediately felt sick. Today was the day. She thought of Nadai. Just once she wanted to feel his arms around her. Hear him call her his Niah. She wanted to spin back time and see his laughing face again. Feel him beside her as she slept. She knew it was futile, just as the inevitable drunkenness that would ensue to blot out all those memories. Nailah shook her head. The pattern had been the same for almost three thousand years. Why should she change it now? At one time she had believed that the pain would lessen as she got older. Now, she knew that although it wasn't as terrible as those first years, it was still a dull ache. One that she knew would never go away. She had never found anyone that came remotely close to his place in her heart, and she was pretty certain she never would. Yes, it had been a lonely existence for the past thousand or so years. But, she had made her decision and Nadai had made his. They both had to live with their choices. She made her way into the kitchen and walked over to the bar. Pouring herself a glass of wine, she watched the red liquid swirl. She gulped the wine like it was water and reached for something stronger. Scotch. Saradin's favorite. She poured a shot and tossed it down, but it just wasn't strong enough. Finally she laughed. Whiskey. That's what she needed. She tossed back two shots like it was nothing. Drank a glass of wine. Tossed another two shots. She repeated the pattern until the pain in her chest receded slightly. Then she took her glass over to the table, sat down, and finally welcomed oblivion.

Wandering the halls, Saradin finished another glass of his own special mix and returned to the kitchen to replenish his glass. Within, he found Nailah and set aside his own drowning to look after her. Judging by the bottles, glasses, smell, and overall demeanor; she was already drunk completely. "Nailah? Are you alright?" Pushing his own headache from his mind, he made sure to remove the bottles of alcohol from her proximity and examined her. "Out cold..." After a heavy sigh at what people did with themsleves, himself included in that, he cautiously lifted her from her seat and carried her out of the kitchen. After setting her down in her room, he returned there and looked at his empty glass before cleaning it out and putting it away.
