I love the way the movie was done, with all the "fake" glamour.
But you're right, men were portrayed as poons in the musical.

I loved all the songs from the movie...insanely so.
And Billy Flinn was a harcore jerkface. He was so materialistic it was sickening.

Eh, it's all right...
Little Shop of Horrors can be about how "Women are the Downfall of Men" (a.k.a. "WATDOM), it's perfectly reasonable that Chicago can be about men being spineless poonanies with absolutely no moral fiber.
*shrugs*
Personally I think both messages suck.

I'm pretty sure that Little Shop and Chicago could be called misogynist and misandric terms as far as theme is concerned.

We had the Little Shop of Horrors on stage preformance last year here in Cincinnati at the Aronoff theatre. I was sad because I couldn't afford the tickets to go.

Ugh, I had 'oodle lally' stuck in my head all night at work last night. Don't get me wrong, I love the song, but it's the last thing I want to sing to myself for 8 hours. xd

Yeah I now how you feel...
I used to do the visitation thing with my dad back in the day...
And his idea of keeping the three of us entertained was playing the robin hood disney tape on the TV over and over again...
With the sound turned up so there was no where you could go in his house (more like a tin can, it was a trailer) without hearing everything...

I want that movie. Mom never got it.
I'm pretty sure that most "Fox furries" were strongly influenced by that movie as kids. rofl

Actually... some of them are hot, but definately not the gay sex ones... xp
