I just joined. here is my profile:
Name: Suoh Mizu
Gender: Male
Clan: Sky
Class: Fencer
Element: Cloud
Personality: Suoh is quiet and thoughtful. His training in the forest taught him that words mean less than direct action. He often has much to say but very rarely says it. He hates it when others keep their cards hidden but he has to admit hypocracy because he will never reveal himself. He enjoys helping others who are willing to expose themselves because it makes him feel better about what he has hidden. He very rarely shows outward affection however.
History: Suoh's mother was a slave in a great castle, his father was a prince but he ran away when she told him because he could never show his affection for his father. He met a hermit in the forest who trained him for two years. After the two years the hermit died and Suoh left the land he was born in for other places. As he practiced among the trees he eventually realized he could summon fog to block his opponent just as he used his practice to hide what he was truly running from, the fact that he has no real family and must suffer for his illegitimacy.
Appearance: Suoh dresses in a blue tunic that provides some protection from physical punches. The wetsuit he wears underneath is simply to keep him warm while swimming and living in the forest. He wears baggy pants to allow for faster movements of his legs. His carries a rapier that is very basic in appearance but has feathers carved around the hilt.
Other: Suoh just wants to feel like he belongs but isn't sure if he can handle being needed all the time.

No offense to any of you, but why is it that the profiles of almost all newcomers are so short? Look at the profiles in the Rules/Spells/Bios thread... I'm not asking you to write entire stories, but one paragraph each for personality, history, and appearance isn't too much to ask, I hope?

I'm not asking you to write entire stories, but one paragraph each for personality, history, and appearance isn't too much to ask, I hope? I'll admit, mines was rather short as well though...

I will go back and edit mine. I normally like to keep the bio short because I don't know how the RP will play out. I can make it longer though...

Well it's not that I really mind short bios, and I know better than anyone that a character only starts to form when you play it... It's just that if you write a single sentence for a bio it looks as if you're not willing to make an effort...
I am also tired, so don't mind me too much. sweatdrop

Personality:Quiet and thoughtfull. Thinks a lot and doesnt speak much. Rupin is often found in meditation, either in forest, or a mountain top, etc. Has a very grim outlook on life, and will do any job.
History:Rupin was raised my his master who taught him his martial art skills, he
never knew his parents. His master was assasinated when he was 18 and
he has been wandering the land of Gaia ever since. The one thing he is
seeking is the meaning of his presence on the earth. When he has found
this, he believes he will be happy.
Appearance:Abot 6"0 high, he has long silver hair and amber colured eyes. These
strange features are believed to be the hall marks of elf blood, but
Rupin is not sure.

Alright, I'm going to make a few points here that I think should be made in the rules post or something. First off, nonhumans of any kind had not been seen prior to the opening events of the rp (as far a I know). Since this is the case, I don't think that being nonhuman or involving monsters in your history fits the rp well. Personally, I would also like an rp sample from the people applying to my clan. It would be preferable if it was a sample of how you would play the character you propose, but it could be anything, just so I get an idea of your rping style. Theres a bio form in the rules post somewhere I think, it would be a good thing to use as a guideline for what to include. Try to read all the rules before making a bio, and if you don't really want to... well... maybe this isn't for you. sweatdrop I don't want to scare anyone away, just voicing some guidlines here.
Oh, by the way, you don't have to pm me your bio. Sky clan applicants can just post it in this thread. That way, it's more likely that someone will be able to tell you about any errors you make, and you'll be able to fix them sooner. Specifics are still up to me I suppose.
