Garrat had to smile a bit. Nathaniel's enthusiasm was too cute. "Enough of this. Your nana is calling," the knight said, completely brushing off the request now. "You haven't eaten yet, right? Your lunch should be in your room."

And Garrat avoided the question again. His shoulder slumped as disheartenment clearly took over his whole body. Trying not to look too depressed as darkening thoughts clouded his mind, Nathan pouted and turned from his knight. ".... Fine.. But will you tell me later?" He asked.
Naturally, Nana found the prince and shuffled over to him and grabbed his wrist, practically dragging the reluctant child behind her. "But Nana..-!" He cried, "No more buts, young master! If I ever hear anymore of your foolish, flipping about, I be the one who box your ears in I will!" She warned, yanking the prince farther away from his knight!
Before Garrat could follow the two, a woman stepped outside and blocked his way. Her elegant gaze and her graying black hair both exemplifying her intimidating stature... The Queen sighed and with one wave of her finger, instructed Garrat to follow her.

Garrat was a bit worried when the Queen appeared and seemed to want to talk to him alone. Nonetheless, he obeyed her. He said nothing as he followed, but his mind was racing. Perhaps she found out it was Garrat's fault that Nathaniel got sick? Perhaps she wanted to discuss her son's near-poisoning? Or maybe she somehow found out about Garrat's feelings and her wrath was soon to come?! The knight felt more panicked as time went by.

The Queen walked beside the knight and once they reached her favorite spot in the garden, which was by a large arch way that was covered in pink gardenia. The archway lead to a pond with a family of swans in it and held over 14 different species of flowers surrounded by the small pond. Sitting on a bend, she sprinkled in some left over bread crumbs in the pond and waved over Garrat for him to drop in some as well, giving him a handful to feed to the swans. All the while remaining silent. Finally, her majesty relaxed a bit and sighed again. " the captain has informed me, that you are passed the age 20... And yet you're always around Nathan, I've grown old and forgotten how old you are... As tradition, you are to be commemorated under the captain now. My say still overrules his word, but you are a man.. And so is Nathaniel... The captain has missions for you now so you must carry those out diligently.." She informed him sternly. And then, her expression grew a bit darker... "However, I don't want another fiasco like the stunt he pulled today... So during the day, while you're gone..." The woman pulled something from out of her clasp pouch and showed it to the soldier. It was a small black key. The key to Nathaniel's room. With a sad but firm expression on her face, she placed the key in his hands. "Do you understand, Garrat?"

Garrat dropped some bread crumbs into the pond and would have calmed down if not for the reminder of a certain tradition. It seemed his training with Nathaniel might not be as often as they would like. His eyes widened considerably when he was shown the key. "My Queen, I understand what you are asking of me, but I don't know if I can do this to him," the knight said. He feared Nathaniel would go insane if stuck in the room alone, and he dreaded the look of betrayal that would cross his face.
For a moment, Garrat considered telling the Queen about the training he planned to have Nathaniel try, if only to strengthen him so he would no longer be ill, but decided against it. The Queen was likely adamant about keeping the prince inside.

The Queen nodded and returned to paying attention to her garden, sighing in agreement to Garrat's predicament. " I know it'll be hard... But you are a knight. With a vital role in a our kingdom... Your duty comes first.. Before your own feelings... As you've wonderfully demonstrated all these years... "'She grinned and slowly stood up, Patting Garrat's shoulder. " and don't you worry.. Nathaniel will be fine. He has to learn not to be so dependent on you.. Your his guard, not his maid, nor his toy... " she held firm and began walking away.

"Then, may... may I propose something?" Garrat asked while she could still hear. "I would like to help Nathaniel overcome his illnesses. To do so, I feel that it would be beneficial if I could train him. I've seen the scrawniest of men became great knights. Perhaps with time, Nathaniel may join their ranks. Then he would truly be independent." He waited for the Queen's stern refusal, but hoped she may consider the option.

The woman stopped in her tracks and glanced behind he shoulder. She sighed and was about to immediately tell him not to mention such as silly idea, but then she remembered Garrat himself and his own transformation. Still, her mind raced , almost as if she was hiding something. "If you have the time to train him and manage to fulfil your duties, then you can try... On one condition..." Then, she turned away from him once again. A "Nathaniel shan't touch any swords or daggers in his training... That is all.." She stated and continued on her way..

Garrat would have been all smiles if not for the fact that he was in the presence of the Queen. "Thank you, Your Highness. You have my word," He didn't mind that he couldn't teach Nathaniel the ways of the sword. A staff or even a bow and some arrows should be fine. So long as Garrat could help the prince, it didn't matter how he should do so.
When the Queen was gone, Garrat hurried to Nathaniel's room to tell him the good news. As for the bad news, he will have to find some way to tell the prince so he would understand.

When Garrat would return to Nathan's room, he would see a magnificently messy array of sheets and cushions. His entire room was a grand fort that was surprisingly very Intricate for a man of his height and body. In it could be heard giggling and a the cursing of a woman with in the blanket and pillow tunnels.

Garrat wasn't sure how, but within the short time he had been with the Queen, Nathaniel had turned his room into a maze. "Still want to play, I see," the knight said as he began to crawl through the tunnels as well. He was careful not to mess up the maze, if only to allow Nathaniel to play around a bit more.

Garrat would probably eventually come across Nana pulling herself out of the fort," Oh! Maybe you can find him, sire.. I'm plum done with his silly games.. Make him drink his medicine.." She commanded and hobbled out of the room.
From the disantce, Nathan was hiding under his bed with his kitten and giggling, thinking he had truly outwitted his Nana and Garrat. " they'll never find us Basset, ill never have to drink that terrible stuff again..."

Garrat made sure to mark the places he had been in the maze (pinch or twist the cloth here or there) and eventually made it to the bed. "You forget how capable your knight is," he teased as he grabbed Nathaniel's wrist and began dragging him out. "Now, take your medicine. It's the least you can do for troubling your nana."

Nathan playfully screamed as his kitten ran off and he was pulled out from under his bed! "Oh! Garrat~ No! I don't want it!" He begged as he struggled to break free only to fail and collapse the creative fort, burying and tangling the two in sheets and blankets. He was left laughing and turning on his back to stare right up into Garrat's clear blue eyes..

Garrat was rather frozen at the moment, staring deeply into Nathaniel's face. He was so tempted to just kiss the young man right then and there, but would it be worth it? What if Nathaniel became scared of him? No, he couldn't do it. Moving out of the sheets as much as he could, he helped the prince to his feet. "Take your medicine."
