The sudden hug was a surprise to Noah, but he welcomed it, but only briefly. The mentor on the other end of the brawl snickered and laughed. "How cute. But, I hate to break up the touching moment. We have a duel to finish, boyo." Noah turned his head from his teacher back to Rose. "Rose, don't worry about me." He said. "I'll be fine. Just try and stay away from the old codger. He might look old, but he's master at martial arts and arcane stuff." Before Noah could deliberate any more info about his master, the two were at it again. "Those are trade secrets, kiddo. Don't giving spoilers." The man in the red duster warned as he leaped forward and came down on Noah with the full force of his arm.

The ward returned the blow with his own counter. It seemed his master was switching his styles up. The strikes were becoming long and fluid. If the red clad ward had to guess, it was wushu. Even in a cramped space, Amos was someone who could make it work. It might have even been in his favor to do so. The wide sweeping motions would claim all the remain space for him and leave little for Noah to maneuver around in. Or it would have, if the man hadn't taught the boy what to do. Once recognized, Noah went in and began to intercept the blows and striking back at key muscles.

Rose understood Noah's feelings about wanting her to leave, but at the same time she was not going to listen to him. She had her own feelings to think about. She was stuff going to cast that enchantment, but the house was also getting in the way. A swift idea came to her. She could also use it to keep herself safe, but that safety would be cast in the second spell. Instead she used an expanding spell. She had seen her father cast it each time a new arrival came to the house. It was the reason the house looked so much like a clown car when they came outside. The woman made the walls higher and the room wider so there was more space to move and fight.

Another issue came up with this spell. The two men still were knocking over items and damaging objects. While they could just do a reversal spell on them, she wanted to save her parents some grief. Instead of the spell that would place her in safety, she started to cast a spell to move the furniture to the walls of the now gymnasium size room.

The two continued to fight, even as their surroundings grew. At first, it was slow, but the two soon came to the same conclusion and for a moment came to a halt. "Well," Amos chuckled and raised his arms in surprise. "Now we got plenty of room to real nasty." The old man glanced over at the busty witch that was most likely casting the spell. Having her acting as support for Noah could become a menace in the man's eye. "All the more room for me to kick your a**, old man." Noah growled and spat some sour blood before charging the man with a flying roundhouse.

And so the brawl continued on. Kicks, punches, throws, and joint locks. It was all there. Even a few head butts. At some points it was even getting downright bloody and brutal. Noah's lips were cut, one of his eyes were closed shut because of a sharp cut above his brow, and bruises were starting to clearly show. As for Amos, he had seen better days, but this definitely wasn't his worst by comparison. The red duster wearing man still stood tall and strong, even with some blood leaking from his nose and a nasty gash across his cheek and swelling. Despite both of them being almost looking like the aftermath of two boxers going at it, they were still able to stand. Almost a whole ten minutes of fighting had gone since Amos walked from the front door. Given a another five minutes and two might look unrecognizable from their bruises and swellings.

As Amos and Noah continued to fight, something peculiar seemed to happen. He might not have noticed it yet, but Amos was slowly bringing the fight closer to Rose. No doubt the woman herself would notice, but would she be able to stay out of the two fighter's way? The beat up old man must have had something planned.

After being told that the barrier would keep the two in their place until it was dropped, Trixie reluctantly sat down on her bed. She didn't know how long the magic barrier would last. The little witch concluded that she may as well wait it out. Still, with Jack still her room, it felt embarrassing. Even after a year, Trixie hadn't really gotten around to decorating her room. Jack must have felt it was so empty. To try and take her mind off the moment of self-consciousness, Trixie spoke up. "H-how long do you think the barrier will stay up?" She asked shyly. Knowing Jack, he'd likely have an answer, if not a rough estimate...right?

Rose didn't put herself first as the fighting got closer. She was more focused on how bloody Noah was looking. There was at least something she knew that she could do for him compared to her attempts to do enchantments. The woman started to chant another spell. This time Noah was going to look a little more healed then he had just been.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I don't know. There is a lot of factors. First the person who had to have done this is Rose. Will knows how to do a little, but he already left and my dad is out on a date with mom. It could be aunt Yvonne, but less likely and she would have no reason to do this herself. Something must be going on on the other side." Jack commented as he thought of what could be happening. "My mom checks up on us every half hour. If she see's Rose in trouble her and dad will come right home." Jack added. That meant that it could be up to an hour before they were free.
Amos took the brunt of a fist to face before tossing his pupil to the ground and slamming his fist into the ground. Thankfully, Noah rolled out of the way just in time and scrambled to his feet. His face was hurting bad. Between his shut eye and numb jaw, the red clad ward just wanted the fight to end. It wasn't until Rose began chanting something, did the bloody young man feel better. His shut eye reopened and the inside of his mouth didn't feel so cut open. The healing effects of whatever spell the woman was using were very noticeable and they were not lost on Noah's opponent.
Huffing and puffing, Amos raised his fists. He hadn't expected his pupil to have grown so much. If anything, he actually expected his to have gotten rusty. "Well kid," He spoke. "I have to hand it to ya. You're a natural born fighter. Guess I picked the right student. Sadly, this little soiree of ours needs to come to a close." The old man in the red duster leaped into the air with almost superhuman agility, flipping like an Olympic acrobat. In a single bound, Amos was behind Noah's lover with a gun to her head. "No more games, Noah. It's time to see what you're really made of."
The white hair man reached forward to grab the busty witch and hold her tight with the barrel of his large pistol digging into her temple. "Any man can fight with his body, kid. But a real man fights with his head. And don't try to weasel your way out of it by just waiting for your girlfriend to cast a spell. She might be able to set me on fire, but I'm pretty sure she'll have a nice big slug in her cranium before that happens." Noah's eyes lit up with fury. The young man's mentor now had a gun to his lover's head and aimed on testing him. "Don't you ******** dare Amos!" Noah hissed through his stained teeth. "Make me, Noah. You know our culture. We meet, we fight, and then clash with our minds. You want to stay my finger from the trigger, then you best find a way to do so."
Despite Jack explaining the possibilities of the magical barrier's origins, the little witch still felt uneasy. If what Jack said was true, there should be no need for barrier just to protect them from the twins' tricks. No, something else had to be going on. She could feel it. There was danger. Was Noah and Rose fighting someone? The petite girl sprung from her seat on her bed and went over to her desk to find her tarot deck. Trixie kneeled down on the floor and spread her cards on the ground. Although she didn't have the supreme divination powers like Jasmine, her ability card reading was admirable. The little witch closed her eyes and began to think upon her situation before flipping a card over to reveal the Seven of Wands.
Rose froze. She was not a powerful witch. There were theories out there that the strongest witches and wizards had no need a want or even saying spells. If she was like them then she could get out of this mess, but she wasn't. There was one trump card in her sleeve. "Shoot me and my blood spell will make it so you can't move." She responded. She could play mind games as well. She looked towards her lover and lipped a 'no' to tell him that it was a lie.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jack didn't know much about tarot. It was something his mother did. There also weren't many schools that had divination classes since they were not needed in order to perform magic. The other problem with it was how truthful one could be when seeing the future or predicting it. "What does that mean?" He asked his adopted sister.

"Oh no. Blood spell. What ever shall I do." Amos mocked with a thick layer of sarcasm. His thumb moved to pull down the hammer of his gun before looking back to his apprentice. "So Noah, what's it going to be? You gonna find some way to weasel your way out of this? Maybe that fancy new power of yours?" The beat up old man chuckled and spat some blood onto the ground. "I'll give you five seconds."

Noah's eyes widened. Was his mentor serious about this? Five seconds to prevent him from pulling the trigger? The bigger question was, would Amos actually do it? It could have been just a bluff. However, Noah had a history with this man. He knew him quite well. He was a man who did what was necessary to prove a point. "Three seconds." The white haired man sang in a sing song voice. Noah stood up straight and pointed his finger at the red duster wearing man. "Amos, if you shoot her, you'll have the whole magic community on you. You'll have nowhere to hide. Not even someone like you can run forever. Even if you left Janhall, I'm sure manhunts would be after you. The Vega's have ties that I don't even know of. That's not even counting what connections they have on the outside."

The bruised young man stood with a defiant glare. His hands curled into blood stained fists. "Pull that trigger, and you'll be the next Len Richardson." The white hair man eyed his pupil with a dubious gaze. "Len Richardson. Those are some heavy words, Noah. He's still on the run. I heard you almost talked him down and into surrender. But then he got away." Amos' hand readjusted itself to dig a little deeper in his pupil's lover's head. "So, if Len can escape, I probably can too." Noah grimaced as he realized his master was right. But, there was one minor detail the young man could counter with. "Yeah. But Len is a powerful wizard with tons of connections and cohorts. You're just some old man. This is Janhall. Rose's mom is clairvoyant who can track you down without trying. Yvonne Vega, the head honcho of the family and most power witch in town also wouldn't have a problem using her resources to haul you in. Face it, Amos. There's no silver lining for you here. You pull the trigger and you're a dead man."

For a moment, there was silence. Hardly sound throughout the whole house. "Hey Noah," Amos suddenly spoke. "You remember what I told you about dry firing a gun?" A split second, Noah was confused. His heart raced. He knew the answer, but what was his mentor talking about? "It's..It's bad for the gun?" The ward answered. "Mmmhmm." The beat up old man replied before pulling his gun away from the Vega sibling's head and pointing towards the wall. The last sound in the whole house was a simple click. "Congratulations, kid." Amos smiled, letting go of Rose. "You should look into becoming a hostage negotiator or something." The second his lover was free and his master had confirmed he was done, Noah ran to embrace the Vega sibling as tightly as he could. "God damnit, Amos."

The little witch looked at her foster brother before answering. "It signifies a challenge." She answered ominously. "Note the man in the picture trying to fend off the other six staves with his own. Something is going on." Trixie then flipped over the other cards in her spread, giving her a vague idea of what might have been going on. "Empress, Temperance, Strength...ugh. If only I could be like mother and just see it for myself." Trixie pushed the cards away and looked up at the barrier erected at her door. The anxiety was killing her. She just wanted the infernal thing to be down.

Rose was surprise that Noah brought up Len. Yes he was still on the lose, but they had his wand at least. Even he couldn't cast magical spells. If this Amos guy hurt her then he would have one of the most powerful wizarding families on his trail. Her aunt would use the werewolves to hurt him down and then finish the deed herself. For a moment it backfired, but her lover regained his footing. When the woman was released she went right to his arms and gave him a kiss and a hug.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So someone has presented a challenge that made my sister feel the need to protect us first. Question is if Noah is with her. If he's a room then he wouldn't be able to get out without.... Rose carrying something extra." He commented. His cheeks went red revealing that there would be a way for Noah to escape the room if his blood was tied to hers.
And so, the fight was seemingly over. The only two people that were hurt were the combatants themselves. "So, now that that's all over with, could I get a bag of ice or a first-aid kit? I know it seems really out of place, but I can explain this whole matter." The old man wasn't completely oblivious to the all the trouble he had caused. He knew what he had done and he wasn't without his fair share of apologies. "Amos, if I didn't know you as well I do, I'd have castrated for even asking that." Noah said, still holding Rose close to him. With heavy sigh. the ward let go of his lover, but chose to hold her hand while introducing her to his old mentor. "Rose, this is Amos Dugger. He's my mentor and he's also an a**. But, for the most part, he's what you'd call one of the good guys." The beat up old man folded his arms and tried to give a charmed smile. His bruised and bloody face betrayed him however as all appeared crooked. "Pleasure to meet you Miss Rose Vega." The man nodded. "Sorry about the whole mess me and my disciple made. It's just part of our routine whenever we meet. Kind of a Inspector Clouseau and Cato thing."
Rose cringed a bit when he mentioned healing. She really hoped that Noah wouldn't ask her to touch him. As she learned more, the more she wanted to smack both of them. "Well couldn't you do it in a park." She mumbled as she drew her wand to clean up the mess. She waved the wand and things started to go back to normal. "I don't understand the reference. Is that some kind of muggle thing?" The woman asked.
Noah sighed as he knew Rose would want to talk about this whole ordeal later tonight before bed if not when they got their first bit of alone time. In the meantime, the ward could stare daggers at his mentor. "Just follow me." Noah waved, motioning for his master to follow him to the through the kitchen and into the bathroom. "Didn't know muggle was an actual term." The old man muttered as he followed his pupil and later being left to his own devices in the Vega's bathroom.
Noah soon returned to Rose and the restored living space. Everything was back to its rightful place and size. The young man visibly struggled to find the words to explain his predicament to the busty witch. Simply saying sorry wouldn't cut it. No, in fact, that'd probably just make it worse. At this point, Noah wondered when Pierre and Jasmine would get back from their date. "I should probably go check on the kids." Noah told the blonde bombshell before trudging towards the stairs. He half-expected Rose to stop him in his tracks.
"Oh right." Rose responded to Noah as she started going to the rooms the younger kids hand. She was going to save the older ones for last. Her palm was still covered in blood as she neared the infant room. She was trying to put space between her and Noah. She didn't know how to talk to him for them moment and needed some time to think up something.
The air of awkward tension around Noah and Rose was only growing with time. To make matters worse, Noah had a feeling his mentor was here for more than just a casual visit. Amos was bound to cause some kind of blunder at some point. Hopefully, that blunder would be on his own terms and not in front of those who mattered. In the meantime, while Rose checked on the younger children, Noah went to check on the older children. Trixie having first priority in his mind. When the young reached her room, however, it was sealed. The door was open, but Noah couldn't enter. A magical barrier prevent him like a window pane separating a fly from the outside world. "Noah!" Trixie exclaimed from the other side. The little sprang to her feet and rushed to the doorway where her brother stood. "You're okay. Thank goodness. What was going on? Where's Rose and the others?" As per usual, Trixie was like a machine gun shoot bullets made of questions. "Why do you like you just got into a fight?"
It was that last question that hit the heaviest for the red clad ward. "It's fine. I'll tell you guys everything in a bit. Are you both alright?" Noah asked, spying Jack sitting inside his sister's room. Where as if it were someone other than Jack or anyone outside the Vega, Noah might have become defensive over his little sister, Jack could be trusted. He was a shy boy with a very easy nature. From what the ward knew, Jack was more likely to run from girls than engage them. "Rose should take down these barriers or whatever when she sees all the other kids are ok. Just stay put." Noah then turned to go check on the others in the opposite order of Rose; oldest to youngest.
Meanwhile, in the Vega's bathroom, Amos was fixing himself up. Sanguine fluid stirring and mixing with the draining sink water. "The kid's picked up a couple of new tricks." The aging hunter commented he dabbed his brow with a cotton ball of hydrogen peroxide. Despite only using common medical supplies, the man's wounds seemed already be healing at an above average rate. Some of injuries he didn't even need to patched up like his split lip. His swellings were already going down. Amos reached underneath his shirt and pulled out a shining green jewel. "Maybe you're still inside there." The old man sighed wistfully before putting jewel back underneath his shirt. Most of his wounds had healed and the ones that hadn't were already on their way. Now that he had tested his pupil, Amos felt it was time he caught up Noah and even got know the Vegas and see how they had been treating him. He personally wanted to speak with the heads of the household.
Rose went from the infants to the younger kids. The babies were asleep and Finn and his next two sisters were having a tea party. It was like they didn't know the danger that they were in before this. She then headed to Robertina. She too seemed content and reading a book she was engrossed in. The woman took noticed of her throbbing hand with each time she relaxed a little more. She would take care of it when she knew everyone was okay.
That was when she turned a bit and noticed Noah. She figure now was better then ever to talk to him. "So do all your meetings with him end up with a fight?" She said in a teasing mindset, but it probably came out wrong.
As Noah checked on the other children, he eventually came upon his lover. The two of them were alone in the hallway. The awkward air around them returned. Before the ward could say anything o ease the tension, Rose was the first to break the ice. Despite the woman's teasing, she deserved some answers. Noah took a deep breath and leaned against the wall with his arms folded. "Would you be mad if I said yes?" He asked. "It's his way, as he tells me. It's always been like that. Amos was the one who picked me up off the streets and took me under his wing. For almost six years, he taught me everything he knew; how to fight, how to survive, right and wrong. That kind of stuff. At times, he'd have me go off on my own, only find me later and fight me. He said it was to see if I'd grown at all and test my 'chi'." Noah said with air quotes.
The red clad ward let his story sink for a moment before speaking again. "I'm sorry. I should have never opened the door. He caused so much trouble for you and could have hurt you." Noah stood up and held Rose by her shoulders. She seemed to be shaking a bit. No doubt from her encounter with Amos. "I won't let anything like that ever happen again." Noah said seriously, his eyes gleaming with determination as they stared into his lover's.
