Shi_Yatsu Rather than spew the same hate for the RE movies I do all the time I've come up with something new. I CHALLENGE you (anyone who liked those devil RE fliks lol) to tell me what was good about that movie. Nothing vague and irrelevant like "The story was awesome!" or "The effects were the best." As specific as possible. An example would be: "I liked the way they shot the scene when the priest had the zombie girl tied down. The lighting and the angles led to an ominous feeling, that played tricks on your mind!" I'm confident people will have trouble naming even 5 things that stood out that made the movie decent. The example I gave is obviously exempt as in reality, the scene was terrible done, and everyone saw that s**t coming from a mile away. That had been done countless times before and it was even done as recently as Dawn of the Dead Remake where the black dude's wife becomes a zombie while giving birth. Shi, you're still coming off as condescending. I know you don't like it; but I enjoy it for reasons of my own, and I don't care to subject them to your scrutiny for approval or disapproval.

Why is everyone complaining? Aren't we supposed to be talking about the Castlevania movie? Isn't that a GOOD thing? I can't find a single post that gives an estimated date for when the movie is even coming out! So much for the "official movie thread"!

Well the thing is, people around here (as well as many parts of the internet) seem to dislike game-based movies. We're all fans of Castlevania here so we feel offended if Castlevania the movie would end up like Super Mario Bros the movie rofl Apparently, most people here dont like the director that was choses, I can't say I dont like the director since I dont quite remember any of his movies sweatdrop Personally I can't wait till it comes out, then I can formulate an opinion, heck at least a trailer. But there is no official release date that I know, maybe next year surprised

Koemiko Shi, you're still coming off as condescending. I know you don't like it; but I enjoy it for reasons of my own, and I don't care to subject them to your scrutiny for approval or disapproval. Fair enough, though believe me when I say I didn't mean to sound condescending sweatdrop I was partially going for the feel of the one Dave Chapelle skit where Prince pwns a certain group in a game of B-ball and at the end Charlie Murphy tells the audience "Challenge him!" or something to that effect. Also I wasn't really planning on arguing when someone would or would not post the things they liked (in other words I wouldn't go further to approve or disapprove), I simply believe it will be quite impossible to find 5 good things about the movie. After all just because someone likes something doesn't necessarily seal it's quality. I'll admit to loving the experience of watching the 3 latest Star Wars movies on the big screen. And I'll also freely admit they still sucked. I probably couldn't list 5 things that were good about them. Combined. Anyway as far as the CV movie goes the dates have been sort of hopping around and imdb is known to change dates without notice so it's anyone's guess imo.

We've got a new script and screenwriter, the man who wrote "Death Sentence" from the director of Saw which is in theaters now... http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/9755Now that Paul Andersen's participation and influence is completely gone except still for producer (which in film doesn't really mean very much) we'll have some differentiation in fan opinion. I'm curious about what he's done, but I'm also wondering if this is going to keep happening and the film will remain in "development hell", so to say.

Like Duke Nukem Forever... I think it'll remain in development until CV gets another epic game that sells like hotcakes. Once that happens they will rush through it's development. And if no such game is released it'll probably stay in development forever.

That sounds like it could happen o_o Though Hasn't Igarashi thought about making a Castlevania movie in Japan, with a Japanese director? Maybe not the cast cause the Belmonts and Dracula are European. I mean Castlevania WAS created over there rolleyes Duke Nukem was created here so it would make sence to make a movie here. Final Fantasy was created in Japan and they made Advent Children. Reviews are mixed but at least Japan made an effort instead of relying on just having FF: Spirits Within be the only Final Fantasy movie emo

I have not heard much on this movie. I haven't even looked a single thing up about.
But that is good, that Mr. Paul Anderson won't be behind the camera doing the directing. He can stick with his Resident Evil stuff. So, he can leave CV allow at last! cool

Yeah, it is safe for now but another will take the helm anytime (unless it dies out like Duke Nuken ._.) But you know, sometimes you really can't please anyone, no matter who takes over directing this movie there will always be nay-sayers and people who point out how it will be ruined. Sure alot of videogame moves end up sucking but at least an effort was made. I guess the only way people can me somewhat satisfied is if the original creator is almost fully involved and possibly even directed it him/herself (I am speaking in general for all videogame movies not just Castlevania). Though Square pictures was created just for Spirits Within and Hironobu Sakaguchi was involved and it still bombed. Sometimes there's just no pleasing everyone rolleyes It's back to fanfictions for the lot of ye rofl

You know I never minded Spirits Within too much. Then again I'm not a big FF fan so it probably doesn't have the same effect on me.
