Look out! Aldo's on a spending spree! surprised
Pssssh. Street Fighter owns the hell out of Mortal Kombat. It had superior playability and creativity. All MK had was gore. talk2hand
Now that I've insulted your taste in games, thanks for the vote! biggrin

@ Pyre: scream scream scream
There has ALWAYS been a rift between Mortal Kombaters and Street Fighters. I am not surprised at all! DX<
All it had was gore? Excuse me? Awesome powers like lightening/teleportation (RAIDEN FRIGGIN CHEATED EVERYTIME!), Scorpion's "GET OVER HERE!" with his spear and the K.O.s? And the metal spikes on the ground? That was a fun game. ;____; Wish I could play it now.

LOL. If we're seriously going to argue about this, we should probably make a new thread. Unless you just let me win on the merit that I've spent most of my life being the sole SF fan among friends. No, I don't want to play MK, again! gonk All in all, I like Darkstalkers best. Or maybe Guilty Gear.

Pyre I've spent most of my life being the sole SF fan among friends. I think you answered that yourself. LOL SF was alright for me. I think you got to change the environment a bit if you crashed into the trash cans or something? baha I forget. It's been a long time. Not a lot of us played it but MK was awesome. <3 *miss* I dunno if you remember when Scorpion said, "Toasty" or something at the end but it was so hard to get him to say it. I think I heard it around twice. haha I dunno those other games. After MK I think I played mostly adventure games and racing games like Mario Kart and Uniracers (no one knows that last one!! *cry*) My favorite was Donkey Kong, I believe. Really great music in it too. [/waaay offtopic] XD

[/waaay offtopic] XD Said friends were all smelly boys who liked the blood and guts and the fact that it made their mothers faint. talk2hand It wasn't any MK character that said that, just some obnoxious guy who popped up in the corner when you pulled off a good combo. At least, that's what I thought. And yeah, I haven't played many fighters since the arcades died off. It's too hard to find friends who want to play. =(

Oh I think there was someone that popped up and said stuff but I think it was Scorpion who said toasty if you killed them a certain way (pulling the spine out, I think). Maybe it was just some random guy that said that for any character that did that. I just don't remember Scorpion saying it often and it felt special. haha
We use to have an arcade game store in our mall but it went out of business with the economy. I think the last time I went in it I just lost some quarters that the game ate. Not really that great at updating their stuff. ):
It is too hard to find people to play with. All of them are kids who want to play Mario Kart on the Wii while I crash into the wall every freakin' time. Arg, I don't like the Wii (at least the controller. It's just bad).

Ok... Street Fighter was my favorite, mostly for Chun Li. Super kicks ftw. MK was alright, and seemed to pull in a large crowd over how much more realistic it looked as compared to other fighters. It also was one of the first to introduce finishers. The 'Toasty' bit was when you met a combo requirement on one of the pit stages and could finish the fight by knocking your opponent into the spikes at the bottom. (The face is one of the programmers.) No toasty, no pit fatality. The stories for the characters (which yes, I actually cared about my character's motivations) in MK were decent, but SF always seemed better.
I also liked the original Killer Instinct, though it was more of a niche fighter. These days I'm more about DoA and to a lesser extent, Soul Calibur. When I actually play fithers, that is.
And Uniracers is the s**t.
Back on topic...
Yay, Halloween is coming.

I played with Chun Li so much, I used to feel guilty when I didn't pick her. She beat the crap out of that bonus round car with lightning kick, for sure! And I just liked her because I was also a brunette with large thighs who kicked people a lot. Loved to kick. Wish I could still do flying kicks. I'm so out of shape. ;_;
I liked KI, but didn't get to play it much because I had a Genesis, not a SNES. And DoA is probably the only 3D fighter that I've liked since the novelty of "Hey, I can move in three dimensions" wore off. Tekken and Virtua Fighter bore me to tears. Well, I suppose there are a few more obscure 3D games like Battle Arena Toshinden and Psychic Force, but yeah... pretty much prefer 2D. Good old Capcom.
Oh, Soul Caliber is the other one everyone here plays. I don't like it, but I can still kick the die-hard fans asses after practicing a few rounds with Taki. I don't think I'm really that good, so people around here must just suck goatballs.

Ooh Killer Instinct is awesome! I think I played it on the GC and I vaguely thought of, "Hey, this game seems familiar...." so I probably did play it on an earlier platform (or I watched some kids play it). I love that game and I wish I had it. <3
Ohh I see. I never could do the finishing move for anyone. ): Maybe if I mashed the buttons or something. Haha!
I always thought SF had more followers now than MK but in the past I remember MK being the favorite. Maybe because me and my friends played it a lot. Haha.
I watched someone play Soul Caliber. That had nice graphics.
And I love your new avy Aldo! <3 [/ontopic]
