Tokala wouldn't let Haren move away when it was time for the hug to end, instead she just pulled herself in closer. Nikkita scared her, and for some strange reason she sensed that she was in danger. She whispered to Haren: "I hate this forest, where there's so much evil lurking, we can't live our lives without precautions."

Haren let Tokala cling to him. "Don't hate the forest for its danger. Its just Nikkita and her minions you hate. but don't let hate, anger, and revenge take over you, Tokala. I love you, Tokala and I would never let anything happen to you, no matter what. We need to go back to the cave, its getting dark." If Tokala will let him, Haren carried her with his arms. "Everything will be all right."

Tokala let Haren carry her, but she didn't exactly want to go back to the cave. She felt that she wouldn't be able to sleep that night anyways, and she wanted to find Danika. But Haren's words lulled her, and she felt safe in his arms and felt that everything would indeed be alright, encouraged by Haren's love, Tokala fell asleep in his arms.

Haren arrived at the cave he realized that Tokala was sleeping. Haren put her on the ground. Then he used his dry cape as a blanket for Tokala. Haren made a fire himself to keep both of them warm. He stayed up to protect Tokala
