No, yellow would match his skin tone. It's supposed to be mildly complimented, but not clashed with. Try... blue? A less vibrant purple?

It wouldn't go with his skin-tone at all. *checks wall-scroll* Weeeell, maybe it would, but it would make him look like a Spirit World convict who's actually in prison. I like the purple idea as an alternative better. Or some nice dark grays.
