Finn crawled onto Noah's lap as they watched the show. He was a little boy who loved to be close to people and to touch them. "Noah, why did you leave?" The boy asked with a frown on his face as if he had done something wrong. "Did I do a no-no?" The boy asked as he looked up to his adoptive brother.

Jack, the quiet child in the family, knocked on the door for a moment then slowly opened the door. The only people who were allowed to have their door locked was anyone over the age of 20. Meaning Noah, Rose, and Will, along with the parents, could have their doors closed off from anyone else. "Ah, Trixie, mom said you may want to buy more books. Are there any you're looking for?" The boy asked rather shy.

Noah spread his arms out onto the back of couch, losing himself in thought as the opening for the cartoon on TV played. What was he going to do once the show was over? The ward dreaded thinking about his own future and what to do in his life. While Jasmine and her ability of precognition could perhaps help Noah find a career, the young man was too stubborn to seek the advice of the matronly seer. The idea of being outdone by his lover wasn't the most comforting thought to the young man. The most success Noah ever had in his life was when he was the leader of the Lung Clan. The slender black dragon tattoo still remaining on his face to the very day. If Noah ever planned on getting a legitimate job, he'd probably have to get that removed.

The ward was snapped out of his thoughts when Finn sat on his lap. The child seemed to be upset. Noah looked down softly at the boy before patting his head. "Nah Finn. You're fine. I just went to talk with Will for a bit. Nothing serious." Noah then looked over to see Kamilla enthralled in playing cartoon. The ward secretly wishing he could be that enamored. Instead all of his anxiety was taking his attention instead of the TV with animated unicorns and ponies.

The little witch sitting in her swivel chair swung around hard when she heard a knock on her door. "Come in." She chimed curiously. In walked Jack, the cute and shy one of the family, or that's how all the other girls saw him at school. Trixie sprang from her seat, blinking her eyes with beaming delight. "Mother wanted to get me more books?" The girl's tiny fists shook with glee as she racked her brain for ideas. So many to choose from. It probably would have helped if Trixie wasn't such a technophobe, then she could look up all the books she wanted on a computer. That being said, it didn't stop her from using the computers at school. A strange contradiction, but just another little quirk of the bright eyed witch. "Oh wait, hang on." The spry girl returned to her desk, pulling one the drawers and grabbing a small notepad. "I've been making a list of books I wanted to lately. Let's see..."

Trixie flipped through the pages of her pad until she found what she was looking for. "There was this one book on magical theory that I was looking for and I also found some books that might actually get Noah to start reading. One is a series, and the others are just one offs." Trixie began to trail off into her own thought before finally coming back to address her foster brother. "Anything else, Jack?"

Finn looked at Noah like he wasn't convinced by Noah's words. The child started be a little active and wasn't going to settle back down anytime soon. Children were sensitive to other's feelings and he wasn't going to settle down anytime soon.

Jack looked at the girl for a moment. It seemed that they were having a miss communication. "I think mom and dad wanted you to set your sights a little higher." He adjusted his words. "We're not going to a normal book store. We're going to a special one." He added. "Aunt Yvonne has a special collection of spells used by our family and dad feels you're ready to learn more advance and special spells that are only taught within our family." Jack answered he smiled gently. "Mama and Dad wanted me to tutor Hector, Victor, and you these spells." The boy added.

Even as the TV with animated talking horses played, Noah felt a disturbance. A nagging anxiety like an OCD person worrying if they had locked the front door before leaving the house. Looking down, the ward saw Finn had not given up his interrogation of him. The child's innocent face able to pierce his hard facade like a bullet through a paper mache wall. With a defeated groan, Noah finally thought of something to tell the young Vega child. "Ok Finn. Alright." He whispered. "It's just something about me and your big sister. Will and I were talking about what I need to do before we um...have a baby." The ward quiet and hush when trying to ease the child's nerves. As if to try and keep it a secret from who might know. Needless to say, that was nearly impossible in the Vega household.

At first, the little witch's eyes flickered with curiosity. What could Jack have meant by that? The young Vega sibling then made his intentions clear. Trixie's eyes lit up like searchlights. The little mage was ready to learn more advanced spells by the family's standards. Trixie let out a shrill squeal of excitement before hugging her foster brother. No doubt the shy boy would squirm in her embrace as her petite body pressed close against him.

"Are you and big sis going to have a baby?" Finn answered to Noah. He didn't quiet understand what the other boy was trying to tell him. In his little mind he heard that they were working on having a baby.

Jack froze. The only people who came him hugs were his mom, eldest and youngest sisters and they normally didn't squeal before giving him a hug. It gave him a surprise. "Uh." The boy started as he thought up something to say. "Yes. Um. When do you want to get the books?" the boy said as he thought up something to tell the girl. He was trying to free himself at this point. It wasn't that Trixie was nice or cute, but the young man didn't know how to handle himself around girls at all. Then again he didn't know how to handle himself around anyone.

The question hung in the air like a bad smell. Noah had almost no choice but roll with it. He never was very good with explaining things to children. Even worse, young children. "Yes Finn, but don't worry about it. You'll figure more when you get older. For now, just have fun being you." Noah breathed a sigh as he leaned back and patted the toddler's head, ruffling his hair a little. For the moment, Noah began to relax, letting his brain turn off as the cartoon program played, but then, the doorbell rang.

The red clad ward sighed and got up from the sofa. "I'll get it." He said aloud, moving to the door. Who on earth could it be? Noah wondered if it was more Exlon worshippers coming to spread the word about their sci-fi god and how paying them money could free them of their mortal coils. When the young opened the door though, he began to wish it was. The sight of a tall white haired man in a long red duster stood on the front porch with a beaming smiled and deceptively soft eyes. Noah's eyes in turn hardened along with his muscles. This day was just getting worse by the minute. If only the kids weren't around. Noah didn't need them to see any of what was about to happen. Where was Jasmine or one of the older Vega's when you needed them?

Trixie looked up the shy boy, completely insensitive to his apprehension about being hugged. Her eyes were fluttering and her teeth were shining like a flashlight in a pitch cave. The little witch was overcome with excitement. She felt her day could only get better as it went on. "We can go right now!" She exclaimed, letting go of Jack and waggling her giddy arms. "I'm so happy. Wait until Noah hears about this. Wait! Is Noah going to get any books took? Will he learn magic?" The sudden thought brought down an avalanche of curiosity from the girl as she nearly bounced up and down, waiting for a response.

Finn settled down this time. He took the answer as 'they would one day have a child'. The curiosity of the child settled down and he once again began to watch his morning cartoons. He didn't even follow Noah when he went for the door. He remembered that his mommy told him that only big kids could open the door.

It wasn't long after Noah that opened the door that Rose came up from behind him with one of her youngest and newest siblings. She cradled the infant in her arm. "Noah, who's at the door sweetie." She asked as she drew closer.

Jack smiled at Trixie in an awkward manner. "Noah will get a book on being a gifted human. He will never learn how to use magic like you do." He answered her. It looked like no one ever explained about how the creature known as human worked. He took it upon himself to educate her. "There is only four groups of former human in the magic world." The man told her. He looked around and found that her bed was the only place to sit and teach. The boy walked in and sat on the corner closest to her. "First is the vampires. They can be created out of other creatures too. Currently it's forbidden for them to hunt humans or anyone really. They are required to drink water that has had blood tablet in it." The boy explained the first creature. "The second group is wolves. Werewolf and Lycan population can only come from humans or children born from werewolf and lycan parents. They also are forbidden from harming humans." The teen continued. "Next are witches and wizards. To become a witch or a wizard there are two things need. First the blood of another monster. When a monster and a human meet and have children, those children are halflings. If those children marry humans then their children become mixes. This third generation show traits of their monster grandparent, if that's the case they are called the same race, but if they show more human traits, then they become witches and wizards. All generations of mixed human monster after that become witches and wizards by the fourth generation." Jack explained the hard part. "The second component is the introduction of magic. To use magic, one must be exposed to magic. That is why in the human world there can be people who suddenly have powers. They need to be exposed to magic and then they can use their magic. There are many cases of famous wizards that have come from the human world after being exposed to magic." Jack explained. "There is one more group and that is gifted-humans. This group makes up of people who have some form of magic, but can not use the possible full force of magic like a witch or a wizard. Not much is known about what makes a gifted-human and there are a lot of theories out there. One of the books that you'll be learning from is magical theory so we'll have a larger discussion about that later, but there are a few. Being spirited away, a thin bloodline, or a person with a strong bloodline, but only able to exhibit one or two abilities. All that is known for sure is that they too need magic exposure." Jack told her. It was probably a whole lesson right there on an very big magic-socio-political topic.

Noah's eyes never once broke away from the man in front of him. His gaze locked, looking for the slightest twitch of muscle, just as he was taught to do. The white haired man standing on the doorstep carried such a heavy presence, it felt crushing. "Heeeeyyyyy Noah. How's it going?" The man said with an eerie drag. "What are you doing here, Amos?" Noah commanded in a hush but terse tone. "Oh, you know..." The man replied. "I just came to check on my pupil. Can't an old mentor check on his students once in a blue moon?" The white haired man's smile never broke as he two kept eye contact with the ward. As luck would have it, Noah's bad hand kept on growing. Rose came from behind, asking who was at the door. Amos didn't need to avert his to see the busty blonde coming forward with a child in her arms. The white haired man could see just out of his peripheral vision. His eerie wide smile only grew with excitement.

Noah felt a growing pang in his neck at the realization. When he wanted assistance from one of the Vegas, he meant anyone other than Rose or the younger children. The ward continued to hold eye contact with the man in the doorway. "Guess you've been busy since left you, huh kid?" Amos teased. "Hitting up supermodels and farming youngins already. I'd almost say I'm proud of ya. But, as I said before, there's a price for everything." Noah gritted his teeth and furrowed his brow. "Don't you ******** dare, old man." Amos' wide unnerving smiled parted and released a pent up giggle. "Sorry kid. But you know what's going to happen the second one of us moves. Hope you're prepared for what's about to come." Noah grimaced as he faced the reality of the situation, the minute one of them broke eye contact or someone interfered, the ritual would begin.

Trixie's mouth parted briefly before closing again. Jack went on to explain a whole lecture's worth of information on the magical world. For once, Trixie watched as her foster brother deliberated in great detail about the socio-political hierarchy of magic. It was all quite fascinating to the little witch whom absorbed every little bit of the data like a blackhole. While did not a few inaccuracies and contradictions in Jack's regurgitation of intelligence, she let it slide. She would probably learn more and fill in the missing holes. The lecture didn't stop her from speaking her mind though, as she just had to speak on her brother's behalf. "So, Noah is able to teleport not only because of the rune I painted on his hand, but also because being around me? Wow. And he's only been getting better at it. He's almost perfected remote teleporting."

Rose could feel a tension in the air from the two men and quickly passed off the baby to a younger sibling who happened to passed by. She drew her wand and started to move slowly closer. This must of been someone from Noah's past. The one he was trying to run from. She was going to have his back on this one as well as the power of the Vegas.

Jack listened to his adopted sister talk about Noah and something peeked his interest. "This is going to deep advance magic and into the realm of theory. Magic is another word for energy. It's a special kind of energy that is connected partly with ones life force. Which means in theory that if you use too much magic then you could kill yourself, but as a reverse, if a witch or wizard doesn't use their magic they could also, again in theory, live forever." Jack commented as he told her another theory. "If Noah has this rune and it is really doing something then it could mean two things. It's slowly killing you or it you have a lot of energy. The only way to test this would be to remove the mark and to test Noah's powers." Jack answered her. "Just as a side note, yes witches and wizards can transfer their powers or create powers to other people, but it's not recommended."
PostPosted: Sat Aug 27, 2016 3:49 pm

The air was becoming heavy as the two combatants continued to eye each other down. Though he still hadn't broken eye contact with his pupil, Amos could see the boy's girlfriend drawing near with a worried expression. The sound of something being drawn could be heard. "Whoa there little missy. No need to get involved. Just a little greeting between old friends." The aging man continued to smile, this time showing his teeth like a hungry shark. "When you're ready Noah. The sooner we get this done, the sooner I'll leave you be." The red clad ward gritted his teeth and clenched his fist. Whether he liked it or not, the old man was right. The was no way around it. Damn accursed honor and personal codes dictated that they have it out on this moment. The sooner they got it over with, the better. The ward maintained eye contact until it hurt. He was thinking of how he could end this as quickly as possible. Then it came to him. Jasmine and Pierre were going to having the ward's head after this.

In the blink of an eye, Noah disappeared. "Well, that's new." Amos muttered in surprised before feeling a heavy force come from behind. In an instant, there was a hand ready to come down on him, but the white haired man intercepted it. Noah's surprise attack was countered and the young man was thrown into the house, allowing Amos to finally enter. The ward landed several feet forward with back on the ground not far from his lover. "So this where you've been hiding out. Real nice place. I'll be sure to make this quick, seeing as how this is the Vegas we're dealing with. Wouldn't want Yvonne to come down on me." The old hunter approached his pupil before quickly backing away to avoid a flurry of defensive kicks. Noah returned to his feet. "Rose, go take the kids upstairs. I'll handle this."

Before anything could be said or done, Amos on the offensive again. "Keep your eye on the birdy!" He called out before taking his pupil back into the fight. the ensuing brawl continued into the house with the two combatants. While Noah tried his hardest to keep his mentor from causing any property damage, such a lofty idea wouldn't be so. Already two vase had been knocked over, and was only going to get worse.

Trixie folded her hands together, listening to Jack speak. This must have been the most the two had ever talked with each other. Jack, being a shy person wasn't the most talkative. At the same time, the girl was learning some information she kind of wished she hadn't. The mark she gave Noah could be killing her. But that became a side thought Trixie began to hear noise coming from downstairs. "What was that?" The little witch asked, peeking past her brother. Then came the sound of broken vases. Something was going on.

Rose was about to counter the man who had attacked her lover, but stopped when his words about her siblings crossed his lips. Noah knew more about this man then she did so it was a good idea to listen to him. Rose nodded and used the moment to get the kids to their room and use protective spells. The healer pulled out a knife and cut herself using blood magic to keep her siblings in and to keep anyone not of her blood out. One she had used a good bit of blood she returned to the fight. She wasn't going to let Noah fight alone. She was going to fight with him all the way.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jack could tell that his words didn't please Trixie too much. "There is two more theories." He commented as heard the crashing. He sighed. "It's probably Hector and Victor playing inside again. Same thing happened last week." Jack responded. breaking things was a habit of his brothers. "Anyways. Marks are symbols of bonds. It could be that Noah is your familiar. It's not impossible for a witch or wizard to have a humanoid as their familiar. Aunt Yvonne's familiar is a werewolf that she calls Angel. Angel is the head of the Vega security team." Jack told the little witch. "The other option is that it's used for focus. That mark doesn't take power. It allows it to be used, like a medium."
PostPosted: Fri Sep 02, 2016 12:03 am
As the ward's lover fled the scene to go protect the children, Noah continued to fight his belligerent mentor. The man in the red duster only let up for moment when Rose left. "Well, she seems like quite the catch, kid. I guessing maybe...G cup?" The taunt was enough to rile up his old pupil as Noah finally switched to offense. "Shut up, you letch!" Growled the young man as he went into white haired man's space. It was now Amos' turn to be on the receiving end of things as his pupil laid into his brutal swings of his knees and elbows. "Muay Thai, eh?" Amos quipped as he nearly avoided a long sweeping kick to the face. "I thought I taught you better. Where's the spice, kiddo? Show me something I haven't seen in awhile." The mentor said deftly blocking the next few blows that came his way.
As if on queue, Noah came at the man with another blow before disappearing again. "Not this time!" Amos laughed, swing around only find nothing. "What?" Then came a tightness around his waist as the man was hoisted into the air and flipped over backwards. "This new enough, for ya?!" Amos landed on the back of his neck before rolling to his feet. A german suplex was a bit out of nowhere for his taste. "Not bad, Noah. But not good enough You're going to need to refine your grapples if you want to take down an opponent stronger than yourself." And just like that, the two were at it again. Within breathing distances of each other, almost looking like a choreographed fight scene. Noah didn't even notice that his girlfriend had returned to support him.
Placing her hand over heart, Trixie breathed a sigh of relief when Jack explained the two additional theories of the magical tattoo.Either Noah was a familiar or the mark simply a medium imbuing Noah with powers. Trixie blushed slightly at the idea of Noah being her familiar. She had knowledge of what a familiar was. Most of the time though, it was small creature such as a bird or cat. But, there were times when the familiar could be of humanoid stature and size. It probably also didn't help that the little witch had also read a couple of magical romance novels that involved the protagonist falling in love with their familiar. "It..it's probably the latter." Trixie said turning her head in embarrassment. "Maybe we should go check and see what's going on downstairs?" Trixie suggested. She wanted to take her mind off the idea of her brother being her familiar and a love interest. The little witch was about to push past Jack, but a magical barrier had been erected on her door, blocking her from exiting. "What's going on?" Trixie squeaked, looking to her foster brother for an answer.
Rose watched the battle wondering what to do. If she used a spell then it could hit Noah. A thought came to her mind. She could enchant him. He would gain some cool abilities for a short time. She did take a class in college on basic enchanting. The girl started to chant. She didn't know a spell for making him stronger so she was going to make a spell for enhancing his muscles.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jack raised an eyebrow and touched the door. He seemed to go into a trace state for a moment and pulled away once his eyes turned to normal. "It's a blood spell. You use your own blood to write a spell. To remove it someone of the writers blood must touch the symbol used. There's only a couple people in my family who know how to use this. Yvonne, Dad, and Rose know how to use blood spells. It's powerful magic. Will is pretty good at it." Jack responded. He wouldn't be able break the spell from this angle. They were stuck.

As the stellar fist fight continued, the teacher and pupil continued to taunt one another with each passing second. Young and old colliding with each other both physically and mentally. It wasn't until Rose returned and began chanting something arcane did Amos become distracted. The old mentor even momentarily turned to see the bombshell casting her spell. "Crap." It had been awhile, but the old hunter thought he had heard a similar incantation. Something was going to happen, and Amos wasn't going to like it in the coming seconds.

"Rose!" Noah cried as soon he finally saw her. With his old mentor distracted, the young man rushed in with unrecognized speed. The ward felt lighter and more agile. In milliseconds he was in Amos' face, grappling him by his head and flinging him over his shoulder. With hunter farther away from his lover, Noah retreated to Rose's side. "You ok, Rose?" Noah asked.

Amos sprang to his feet after being flung like a ragdoll. With a few creaks of his neck, the hunter readjusted his and got steady. "Well, this should be interesting." The old man snickered, brushing some blood from his lip.

Rose knew that she was putting herself in some danger with the spell, but the hope was she was able to do it fast enough that she could move. It was hard to move and focus at the same time with the spell, so the woman needed to stay still for a bit. When the spell worked, and her lover by her side, Rose smiled and gave him a hug. "Just here to be your support." She answered before letting him go. "Lets see if I can make it hard for you to get injured." She told him her plan for the next spell.
