Sylvain White is the new director for the Castlevania live action film. It will shoot during fall of this year in Romania and South Africa. Even though Anderson stepped aside from directing the movie, his script will be used. "The drama begins as a Transylvanian knight leads his men into a gothic castle to seek refuge from the Turkish army. The knights soon discover the castle is controlled by the original vampire." Apparently, the film will be available in 2008. I don't know about you, but the brief description of how it starts turned me off. Anderson stepping aside = YAY Anderson's script being used = crying I have zero faith in American VG movies. I already have very little faith in American movies period. So for me turned off is a big understatement. Odds are I'll watch it on TV. No way am I gonna pay another 12 bucks to torture myself. Oni-Kagura Well, I've met a lot of people who hated the first, and found the second tolerable if you accept that it's loosely based on RE3. As for people who love sequels more than the first movie, you got Terminator 2: Judgement Day, and Aliens. It all depends on the director, among other things. I was talking about the RE movies only though ^.^; I'm personally one of those people that loved those two movies you mentioned (although I loved the originals too).

The only american VG movie I liked was Tron. I am let down by the script of the live action CV movie, but I'm still looking forward for the anime trilogy.

Yeah I always look forward to animated stuff, PLUS it's going strait to DVD so no 12 bucks on tickets for each person! 3nodding I actually liked the SH movie. It was pretty good. I had thought the Tron movie came first (my knowledge on Tron is very small).

I find it funny how you guys just ASSUME that the movie's gonna be bad based on the mere fact that their using Anderson's script. You never know, it might actually be decent. You really won't know until you see it.
I think you guys should just wait til the movie comes out before you form an opinion on it. If it turns out you still hate it, fine. At least your opinion is justified (assuming you have a good reason to hate it). I'm not expecting it to be a really awesome movie or anything, but at least I'm gonna keep an open mind when I do see it. 3nodding

That's actually true. Remember Some directors started off making a good movie, messed up a few and redeemed themselves....like Joel Schumacher, he was awesome with Falling down, messed up the Batman series that they had to start over, and redeemed himself with Number 23 (at least from what I heard it was a good movie) 3nodding Besides how cheesy can it be? But I've seen most of Paul Anderson's movies, and now my faith has withered away into a pile of jerky and despair. Even his non VG movies suck. And don't get me wrong, I don't know if the movie will be intolerably bad, I'm simply not willing to risk another 12 bucks on it. I feel as though my chances are better at winning a game of roulette.

To see it on the big screen in live action with people that have never experienced the series in game form (and are usually too lazy to play the game). Plus anyone could reciprocate with the question "What's the point of making a video-game movie at ALL? Why not just do a NEW original movie?" Personally I wouldn't mind them following the original plots exactly, cause at least it's be good in some way. I already know what's gonna happen in VG movies 95% of the time because they're predictable as hell anyway crying Although I'd also love it if they changed a few things without managing to make it retarded.

I heard a rumour that Alucard will be in it. True, false, maybe? I want him to be in it as long as his appearance is the same as that of Symphony of the Night! Otherwise I'll be rather sceptical about the whole thing.
The actor for him (if he's in it *crosses fingers*) had better be good.

I highly doubt he's in it since the movie focuses on Simon. And if he does show up you can bet your a** it'll be really dumb. But meh, you never know. I certainly never expected to see Kitana in the original MK movie.

I liked the first RE movie... the second wasn't too bad (although I didn't like the plot as much) ... but then they tried to bring in pre-established characters since they were popular, like Jilll. I don't think they did her well... that they just brought her in since she was a fan favorite, without understanding WHY she was a fan favorite, or the personality behind her.

Rather than spew the same hate for the RE movies I do all the time I've come up with something new. I CHALLENGE you (anyone who liked those devil RE fliks lol) to tell me what was good about that movie. Nothing vague and irrelevant like "The story was awesome!" or "The effects were the best." As specific as possible.
An example would be: "I liked the way they shot the scene when the priest had the zombie girl tied down. The lighting and the angles led to an ominous feeling, that played tricks on your mind!"
I'm confident people will have trouble naming even 5 things that stood out that made the movie decent. The example I gave is obviously exempt as in reality, the scene was terrible done, and everyone saw that s**t coming from a mile away. That had been done countless times before and it was even done as recently as Dawn of the Dead Remake where the black dude's wife becomes a zombie while giving birth.
