Estelyn Bleh, school. x_x My favorite teacher has disappeared...and I'm worried. He wouldn't leave/retire without telling us, would he?!? gonk Two out of the three best teacher at my school quit over the summer. The Spanish teacher, Matt, left at the end of last year so he could run off to Brazil to be with his girlfriend. This from a guy that two years ago was more cynical about love than any of his students. The Drama teacher, Mark, got fed up with the administration and quit only about a month ago. I still have no idea who'll be filling in for him, though rumor has it that my favorite teacher (Kevin the English/Contemporay Issues teacher) might be doing it. And one of the best teachers from my old school was killed in a car accident just days before the school year ended. sad This has not been a very good year for the education systems around here.

(you know what I'm talking about ninja gonk ) There was one at a school one town over from mine. They fired the teacher (duh), but it happened where one of my friends worked during the summer. gonk

The best teachers are leaving the high school I'll be attending next year because of the stupid retire-rehire plan. They were some of my brother's best friends--and not because he's a loser--and made his senior year the best he's ever had, in all likelihood. Aww...and I wanted to meet them. To be honest, I'm a little nervous about high school. I've always been insecure about things that everyone would find me crazy to be insecure about...and it's really hard trying to live up to my Princetonian brother. But that's enough whining.[/sob-story]
"Teacher/student misconduct" is...horrendous. It's just horrendous. e_e
Queen Arwen~I hated sixth grade. Even more than that, I hated seventh grade. There are way too many hormones going around in middle school, and that's the only reason I'm so anxious to get the hell out of here. I expect this year will be okay, though, because there aren't any idiots who'll say, "HAHA, YOU'RE A SIXTH-GRADER!" just because I'm short and decidedly smarter than the lot of them. (Of course, it doesn't take much to achieve that.) But school is okay. I don't love it, but I don't hate it either. It's pretty much the only venue I have to see my friends.

And you'll find out that there is at least one person in the school off thier rocker mad like you are. There are even potential mates just as off the wall psycho as you are! It can be really hard, though. At times. Finals suck. Like a leech. But the books they make you read can be pretty interesting if you let them. Sure, most still suck, but some really open new doors. Oh, and trust me, no one gives a balrog's arse how tall or short you are. Your level and class of insanity is all that matters. Try new (non-self-destructive) things. Form or join that club you always wantted to. Mention your intrests to other people. The D&D group should be large at my school next year since we started mentioning it to others. High school is as cool or as horrable as you make it.

Form or join that club you always wantted to. Mention your intrests to other people. The D&D group should be large at my school next year since we started mentioning it to others. High school is as cool or as horrable as you make it. Indeed, just about all of my friends are as "off-their-rocker mad" as me. wink I asked my brother recently about what the "dating scene" is like as opposed to junior high, in which "going out" constitutes the occasional holding of hands, the rare kiss on the cheek, and the constant professions of "love" from tweenagers who don't even know that they're spoiled absolutely-positively rotten, let alone the meaning of lifelong sacrifice. He said it was...different. But I don't know what that's like.
As for books, I've seen basically all of my brother's, even read a few, such as 1984, The Crucible, Tuesdays with Morrie, Murder on the Orient Express...all of which I enjoyed. I'm sure there are some, though, that are just terrible. That's how it always is. And I absolutely hate it when people in my English class complain about having to read Shakespeare because "it's too hard". It probably is for their diminutive brains, but it's inevitable, so you might as well accept it. I find myself condescending toward my peers far too often, but this is what "GT" has become--and what America's youth has become. (And I happen to like Shakespeare...)
In short...I don't mind the day-to-day (social and academic) stuff, just the college stuff. All of these years I've spent "learning" in grade school have been for that one purpose. And I'm going to miss these carefree days I have left, even if everyone says college is one of the best experiences you'll have in life.
And...I am so joining the anime club. I have been entrusted the task of reviving it, armed with my marvelous box of RahXephon. I also want to do some sport.
Rashico~ eek THAR SHE BLOWS! -glomps-

Almost forgot! Michael Phelps is coming home on Saturday. eek ninja We're having a "Phelpstival" with a parade and all that--well, actually, his Towson locals will be hosting, but close enough. He'll have the street in front of Towson High named after him (Michael Phelps Way! whee ), he'll receive a golden key to the city (as if he doesn't have enough gold...), and there'll be a lot of screaming girls around him, as always. And he said he was single on Regis & Kelly. wink Not that I'm insinuating that I could fill that place for him, since I'm six years his junior...but a girl can dream, right? whee
I really wanna be there for the festivities, but it will no doubt be crowded like hell, and I'll have to wake up early (on a Saturday?!?!) to get tickets. xp But, I'm getting my mom to promise that when we go back to China in '08, we're going to see one of his meets. ^o^
