It's a pity that Silva wasn't there to hear what Erik said, she probably would have fallen off her mount laughing. However, she wasn't. She was sitting in front of a white fire and polishing off a bottle of whiskey. She patted the saddlebags she was sitting on and singing something she'd once learned at the monastery. Kahil was pulling up grass, most were now sleeping. Silva was taking notes about positions and things like that, tactical stuff that someone General or dude with a huge ego might need. Money was power and she was well off, enough so that she could hire a small army if she liked.

Alex noted the sarcasm in Eriks voice, and the absence of thought from Lisa... most likely planning something, and went back inside to check up on things. " Well, it seems I was right about the whole budget, our teams have brought us enough ore and provisions to survive the month pleasantly with the women cooking of course.... Don't want another something surprise meal... ugh." Giving a slight shudder from the last attempt the men made at cooking, he continued his thought. " If we take the hill path towards the raiding party tomorrow, we would have an extreme advantage, but maybe not as much as meeting them at the mouth of the forrest... I'll have to think on that one. Archerers will take to the forts, Snipers in the trees. If we had our cavalry come around back with knights maybe we would be able to have a clean surrender from them...."

Silva was woken in the morning by the Commanders of the detachment running about barking at people to get up. Something about they'd found a rebel group of Mercenaries in some little place somewhere. She really couldn't give a crap about such things. The captains was yelling something about leave the corpses where they lay, they didn't have time for burial, they wanted to move out now. Silva didn't know if she should feel upset about the Sisters dying. Probably she should. Yet after tacking up and mounting, she looked to some of the bodies and discovered that a few of them were from her monastery back home. She didn't get upset over it, she was angry, this was war though. She shifted back in the saddle and thought about things.

This might only be a detachment but, no merc group stood half a chance against them. There was, minus the dead Sisters and a few female solders, well over a thousand. Once again she noted that most of these troops looked inexperienced, green in fact. She figured a half decent leader could rout them if they acted with precision and swiftness. They moved out and they moved quickly, which told her they were trying to get to Mercs before the Mercs got to them. Silva knew something else, Mercs were just sell-swords, which meant she could probably hire them. She'd take some of the best and then make a break for home. They could really stay once she got there, that was another matter for another time.

Time passed as Silva sat in the saddle, plotting and planning something very different from what the detachment was thinking. Another thing she noticed was that they made so much bloody noise any scout or ranger will have seen them. For some reason she hoped deeply that the Mercs might have half a chance if they were forewarned of them coming...

Yeah, I've been at mah grandma's. Interesting people, but no computer avaliability for minors...

Lisa finally felt that she had beaten her sparring opponent and realized Alex was gone. Oops.
Feeling sweaty, Lisa chose to go change before doing anything else. After that, she went to find something to do.

"I actually would have enjoyed a spar..." Alex leaned back in his chair after mapping the whole battle out and possible alterations to the plan depending on the behavior of the Grados. All in all, they had the major advantage but there was still room for error i.e lack of experience in the art of warfare and what-not. " It's pretty boring around here, usually you'd think a war room right before the war started would be pretty packed, but it's just me..." Alex stood up and looked for something to do before the end of the day, which would be about two hours.

Post 200!

Lisa nearly skipped down the hall. She was in a good mood, having blown off all her negative emotions through sparring.
Deciding to find Alex, Lisa's good mood shot up further when she found him in the first place she tried.
Skill...
"Hullo," she cheerily. "How goes the planning?"

It's done." Alex gave a small yawn, and smiled. " I see you're happy, everything go alright with the spar, or is there something else i can attune to your sudden perk?"
PostPosted: Sun Dec 27, 2009 8:06 pm

"Sparring," Lisa said, still grinning. "And I got an idea that means this could actually work. All we have to do is go backwards--all those villages and battlefields that we were around... Well, there has to be a handful of decent fighters left from all of them who'd help us, right? We'll be up to our scalps in volunteers."

there's a key reason why I haven't sent riders to them. They were attacked, if we take the men, who is to protect the women and children left behind. Us? Our men? I would rather have one of my own kin to protect me than some stranger, which all of you are to me." Alex gave a small sigh. " Good plan, not entirely thought out though.
PostPosted: Sun Dec 27, 2009 8:18 pm

"Except, if we're fighting the Grado army, they're not going to be out looting villages," Lisa muttered testily. "Anyway, woman, children and girl-children can do a lot on their own."
But she let it go. Eventually, she'd get another idea for a plan.

Silva listened in on the Generals, because she'd been promoted to a position of power. Turns out for all the healers they had left, less then a dozen including her, the Captain of them was dead. Thus, seeing as she looked like she could at least throw a punch they put her in charge. It wasn't a new thing to her, didn't mean she LIKED it. She listened carefully to orders and barked a few of her own. She noticed all the remaining healers were from Grado. She also politely informed the General that she could be a useful spy if they so wanted her to be one. Which, they did, so she set out to the neighboring village to work her magic.

"Well hey, I was simply stating a viewpoint. Yes i guess it was a little sexist but forgive me on that. Not exactly an easy day with the thieves and idiots running around here." Sighing, He rubbed his temple. " I can see where you're coming from, but furthermore, they are villagers, the majority of them won't even know how to wield a blade without hacking themselves. They need all the fighters they can get."

Lisa sighed too. "So do we. But, hey," she added with some of her former cheer, "We can always just let some of the more annoying recruits loose on them. They'll be running for the hills if we send that Merry-Band guy in."
She noticed that her anger hadn't completely gone out. Bad first impressions can be like that.

"Yes... that would be pretty bad." With a small smile, Alex grabbed Lisas hand. "We never got to spar, and i'm bored. Let's remedy both shall we?" He started to pull her to the field.

"Right," Lisa said, sighing and thinking about how she'd just changed.
Oh well...
