Still lingering among the rubble in the courtyard and the throng of both students and teachers alike, Ameena had long been since standing off to the side so to speak, and was filling the slot of a silent observer for the time being. She had indeed heard Kyria's announcement of informing the students they needed to leave the academy, whilst the teachers themselves would serve as their escorts as they traveled to the safety of the library within the city.
Mentally, Ameena began to ponder whether or not it made more sense to follow the students toward a place of safety, or would it be wiser to track Kyria, Ophelia and the others as they made an attempt to track down Karu? As the drow continued to stay put in her own little world, the sound of a nearby voice had drawn her out from such a deep trance. Due to the fact that Aurora's words were that of a murmur, she had barely managed to pick what she had while her head turned to face the the fellow teacher who was pretty much nearby her own position.
"To be blunt, it would seem that he is not alright." Ameena spoke, in regard of the situation Silus (The only name that she knows him by.) had gone through. Despite the notion that Aurora seemed to be having a conversation with herself, that did not stop Ameena from intejecting and tossing her own comment out into the night air. Briefly, the dark elf glanced down at her hand that still tightly clutched the dagger and then scanned the area that surrounded both herself and Aurora.
"Have you seen Miss Gallaudet around lately?" Ameena questioned the new teacher known as Aurora out of the blue and once again looked down toward her. If this vampire was indeed a recent addition to the teaching staff around here, then she surely must of met Gallaudet at least once. This of course, was the impression that the drow's mind had at this very moment. Perhaps it was merely the light playing a trick on her eyes, or Gallaudet was lost in the crowd that still remained infront of the vampire and the drow.
"Or, she's in some other wing of this academy." Ameena mentally added to her previous thoughts and kept them as such. As she granted the chance for Aurora to speak up and answer her question, she herself had fallen silent for right now. The grip on the dagger in her right hand had become relaxed and continued to do so with each second, but Ameena continued to wait for whatever answer Aurora would inform her of.

Karu fell uneasily to the ground a few feet away from Ellette, landing with a very hard uneasy sound that made his stomach churn. Releasing a painful moan he lurched forward in a futile attempt to change into his primal beast form, but realized he had not the time nor the strength for either. As he laid there upon the ground, he couldn't help, but think of those whom he had troubled since his stay here within the academy. Finally willing himself up onto his feet he glared at Ellette angrily, still with the dagger in his hand. His long silver hair now stuck to his chest and back with a mixture of sweat, and blood. His mouth was dry, and his vision began to blur slowly, but the mighty warrior still stood there unmoved, and then he parted his lips to say...
"Come...come and try like so many have done," he said softly with a sense of pride rising within himself.
"Come and try, and see where the others have ended up," he said again this time with his voice rising, and his posture straightening up.
He could feel the fury rising within him, and the adrenaline flow through his veins, mingling with the putrid poison that ailed him now. He stood now, as if not even being afflicted by even the mortal condition called mortality, and let out a horrid growl through his gritted teeth.
"Come boy! For it is you who will meet his end today!" He roared as he lunged at Ellette with pure adrenaline coursing through his veins.
Perhaps it was his final act on this world, but he didn't care. He would not go out like a candle in the night, no...he would burn like a raging bonfire, burning brightly into the darkness, only to leave a large mark...a scorch upon the ground it set upon. He could no longer feel the wound, nor much of his body at this point he though as he flew foolishly through the air at Ellette. He already knew Ellette had some surprise in store for him, and he was content with it. In a sense this was what he wanted...a noble death, with no regrets.

Elette laughed again, tapping his fingers on the top of the box he still held. "Such big talk from someone who can barely hold themselves upright. Especially when they know nothing about their opponent." He took a step back and finally opened the box. From inside a low growl emitted before a dense mass of pure black smoke came out and wrapped itself around Elette's arm.
"I really have to thank the founder for this little toy I found. Although he was attempting to find a way to counter it's attacks, I believe using it as it was intended is the best way to utilize it's power. In case you've never seen it, it is known by many ancient races as Obsidian, a malleable shadow-like being that is stronger when it is around darkness. How convenient that you chose to fight me during the evening."
The shadow molded along his arm into the shape of a long lance. Elette tapped it twice to show Karu that it was certainly solid. Since Karu was already off the ground, and his wounded state would make it neigh impossible for him to dodge, Elette drew his arm back and struck out just as Karu began to come back down to earth. The lance passed straight through Karu's stomach all the way to the other side, with nearly two feet of the mass on either side of the wound.
"Oh, too bad Karu. Looks like the only end today is yours. A pity really, you showed so much prom-" A sudden flash of bright light erupted between the two men, and Elette's hand holding the box was severed from his body. Since the box was no longer connected to his person, the Obsidian dissipated and returned to it's box, the lid closing once again. Karu was no longer held up by the creature, and Elette himself fell to his knees while letting out a pained scream. He looked around in shock, trying to figure out who had attacked him, only to see Gallaudet looming over him, a ball of lightning crackling around her hand. "You? How on earth did you escape?"
"How dare you betray my trust like this Elette? I can't believe I let myself get so close to you." she replied, angry tears welling up in her eyes. "You betrayed the Acdemy, you betrayed your students, and you betrayed the one person who could have saved you."
And with out another word, Gallaudet advanced on Elette and struck him through the chest with her blade of lightning. Elette cried out in pain as she remained inside him for several agonizing seconds before pulling her hand from him and letting him fall on his back. "Why?" he cried out, writhing in pain. "Why didn 't you kill me with that attack?"
"Because I want you to suffer as long as possible." Gallaudet spat back, walking away from him and over to Karu. While Elette continued to curse and moan in pain, unable to move, Gallaudet looked at Karu and spoke softly. "I am sorry that this happened Karu. I shouldn't have been so foolish as to not have anticipated something like this...But you cannot die here. You have to promise me that you will not die here. I feel Kyria approaching, and others who will take you to where you can get back to normal. Please Karu, don't die at the hands of this traitor. You deserve a better death...a more honorable death...one that is not here. My great grandfather would not have wanted it that way..."
Moments later, as Gallaudet predicted, Kyria entered the area, trailed by Ophelia. Seeing Karu, she ran to his side and hugged onto him, tears streaming down her face. "Karu...no....Karu please don't leave me..."
"He will be alright Kyria, if you get him to Damasses in time." Gallaudet looked down at the couple before turning to Ophelia, walking over and hugging her. "I know what happened, and I don't want you to feel guilty. You were tricked, like so many of us this night." For some reason, moments before Elette's attack, Gallaudet had become aware of the Academy's spirits and they had told her of everything she had missed. It must have been an ability of the Headmasters of the school, which had alerted her to the fact that Elette had done something to lose the power. Also, it apparently meant that she had been chosen to be the next headmaster.
"Ophelia I want you to go with them and when Karu is better, ask for his forgiveness. It seems that you two have some things to talk about...and one day, I want you to return to the Academy..." she kissed the girl's forehead before letting her go and retreating a few step to look at the group. "I will remain here, and try to rebuild what has been destroyed. If you need me, please send word by means of this," she handed Kyria a small glass orb with a white swirling mist inside. "Just speak into it and we will be connected by the other in the set, which I still possess."
Kyria nodded before getting to her feet and embracing her friend, possibly for the last time. It was like the parting of two sisters, and both couldn't help but cry.

Karu laid upon the ground confused, and befuddled. He couldn't quite piece together what had just occurred, nor was he aware of the others around him. All that he felt now was the sudden chill of the night, and how its darkness seemed to envelop everything including his vision. His breaths were horridly faint, and his body devoid of any strength or movement within him. He felt closer to death now, than had he ever been before. Several people had already swarmed to his side, but he couldn't recognize them due to his steady decrease of awareness. Darkness seemed to creep in all around him, and the muffled voices of people seemed to grow fainter, and fainter. He lifted his hand weakly not realizing within it he still gripped tightly onto Ellette's dagger. His mouth was filled with crimson blood, and he slowly turned his head to the side and spat it out. Gripping onto the cloth of someone nearby he grunted as he attempted to lift himself up horridly gasping for breath as he began hoisting himself up. His golden eyes were pale, and all life seemed to be drained from them. The fallen warrior was horridly caked in blood, but he never stopped. He smiled lightly in what he assumed was the direction of Ellette, and gasped once more, his bloody teeth gritting down as he attempted to lean forward feeling the pain of the wound upon his torso. At that very moment Beatrix's words sunk in deeper than he would ever imagine, and they hurt horridly as he spoke them.
"Y...you...cannot take from me...what I have not to be taken," and with that he slumped forward unconscious losing all contexts of time.

Kyria couldn't wait for Beatrix to arrive. She bundled up her cloak and put it to the wound, applying pressure in an attempt to stop the bleeding as best she could. Once she felt it would be safe enough to move him, she ripped a length of fabric from the hem of her dress and wrapped it over his wound, securing it tight enough that it would come loose. Then, with the help of Galaudet, they managed to carry Karu to the front doors; Ophelia rushed along side them, and opened the doors as they approached.
Jun was already waiting on the other side, and his eyes widened at the sight of the injured Karu. He did not, however, ask questions, but rushed over to help get Karu onto the sleigh. Kyria laid several of the blankets over Karu to protect him from the weather and any temperature changes.
"When Beatrix arrives, we will set out. We will need to go as quickly as we can. Thank you my friend, for stopping Elette in time." Gallaudet nodded, and Kyria could see in her eyes that she was in incredible emotional pain. Kyria turned away to the children, who she helped climb up onto her horse, one of the ones trailed by the sleigh. She put Jun behind Ophelia and instructed her horse to be kind to the unfamiliar riders.
Then she looked to the other two horses. She would let Beatrix decide first, whether she wanted to help pull Karu along on the second hitched horse or be able to trot along side him or even behind the group with the loose horse. Gently, she pet her horses mane, becoming lost in her own thoughts.

Clouse had followed his orders, a little bit shocked by them, but he followed them still, making only one last stop in his room to put on his ankle and knee braces before leaving for good, everything else was non essential. He had made good time, and had finally made it out the doors of the academy, everyone was outside by now, a wing of witch he had gotten out, he felt sorry that he couldn't say why as he looked, then his eyes spotted Ophelia, then what was going on around her, it scared him. He knew not what to do, or what to say, yet his legs carried him like a unwilling passenger to were she and her group were, his eyes looked down onto Karu, then up to Gallaudet and Kyria, he felt lost, he didn't know ether of these people, or couldn't bring names to faces at least, and yet from his mouth words simply came as he fell to his knees beside Karu, "What happened?" There was a genuine sound of concern, fear, possibly even guilt in his voice. He had seen this man before, he was a teacher, why had this happened to him.

Gallaudet looked down at Clouse and tried to offer a reassuring smile that she had been taught to give to worried students. "Nothing that cannot be fixed. Do not be worried. If you are going to travel with them, you will have to help them by staying positive and giving a hand however you can." She patted him on the head and sighed. She felt horrible that the students had to take on the burden of fixing the mistakes made by those who were supposed to be protecting them. However, in light of what had happened, she certainly wouldn't allow Ticus to recruit those students who had gone into hiding; somehow she felt that he had something to do with everything that had been happening since his speech the day before.
Meanwhile, Elette had disappeared from where he had fallen, though a trail of blood traveled towards the forest. Elette, still alive, was being unceremoniously dragged by the collar by the boy assassin. "You failed miserably Elette. At such a simple task too."
"You're one to talk." Elette replied in a raspy voice, coughing and spitting up a little bit of blood. "You pawned your job off on a weak little girl, and failed to kill him with your poison."
"I'll admit I should have taken care of it myself...but it was your job to finish him off..."
"And a pity I thought he could even accomplish that." the boy dropped Elette at the feet of Ticus, who held his weapon against his shoulder. "You couldn't even kill off Gallaudet. I've given you another chance, and unfortunately it was your last." And with a smirk, he brought his blade down and severed Elette's head from his body. "Be proud man, you died at the hands of the wielder of the Midus Blade. Not many have had that priveledge..."The boy looked up at Ticus.
"Do you want me to go and finish Karu off?"
"No. I want you to follow them, wherever it is they go, and spy on them. I have a feeling that they are going to Damasses, and I have some interest in that city. As does the Emperor."
"As you wish." Bowing, he disappeared, leaving Ticus alone with Elette's body. He wiped the blood from his blade on Elette's shirt before sheathing it and turning to walk back the way he had come, disappearing into the darkness.
"I leave you to the beasts now, you pathetic fool. Gallaudet, I promise you will not be alive for much longer, and then I will control the Academy." When Ticus reappeared he was in a darkened throne room, and approached the throne, kneeling before it. "My lord..."

Within the shadowy throne room sat a shrouded figure heavily clothed in robes. A sadistic chuckle could be heard emitted from the darkness as he stared at his most loyal war general. "Did you dispose of the fool?" he asked with a deep distorted voice. "I'm sure you have...no matter...all the pieces are in place. Omen is on the trail of his brother, the academy will soon be under our control, and Karu, the horrid thorn in my side is incapacitated for now, as well as our little beastile friends...now all that lays in our path is Ti'verai', and his blasted city of elves...arrange our armies, and cut off their supply routes before they can take any action against us. We will destroy their precious kingdom within a matter of days."
With that the dark shrouded figure stood from his throne, and swept his robes about him stepping deeper into the shadows. The Dark Hand truly did have their hands in everything, and not anyone would be able to stop their true victory. Before he disappeared completely, he paused and looked back at Ticus.
"Oh...and Ticus...do not fail me...I wouldn't want what happened to Ellette to happen to you," he said chuckling, and disappearing into the darkness.

Clouse nodded and gathered himself before standing up, he breathed in deeply, then let it out, his shakiness leaving with his breath, he then closed his eyes, and after a short pause he opened them back up and he seemed as if nothing had happened. Almost as if in self trance, it was a skill he had learned so he could put up with events around him. His new personality would be short lived, just long enough for him to gain back emotional control, it was modeled after his hero, and her uncrushable will. "I understand Mam. I'll arrange the student body for travel immediately, and follow behind you." Even his stance had changed, more strait backed, at full attention, his military training shining. Even though Clouse's will was strong as tempered steel, he was always the jumpy and indecisive type, witch is why he had learned to trance himself, even if only for a minute at a time, it was enough to relax his nerves, and let him see clearly.
As he turned around to do as he said he would his trance left him, and he had to breath a little faster than normal for a second to keep up his walk, after witch he really was OK, and started calling out orders like his least favorite teacher to the students, his voice was strong, and bold, calling out drilling orders harshly, every single student acted with out question, lining up in perfect rows as Clouse gave further orders to follow Gallaudet, even calling out her name now he had regained his composure. The fact the students followed his orders showed that Clouse had ether learned leadership by being head of his own club, or that every one was just so confused and scared that they would listen to any voice of reason. Ether way, at least no one was panicking anymore.

(( Lost my internet, so I haven't been on. Sorry it sucks and is totally rushed, don't have much time to spend on my reply. XD On my mom's computer, lol. ))
A smile crept onto pursed ruby lips. Rubies glowing in the moonlight, no, deep red eyes gazed down upon the beheading of the foolish Ellette. The boy, shrouded in the familiar taint left, followed by the 'Great' general Ticus. Well muscled and narrow eyed, the man was certainly imposing, to lesser individuals.
Releasing a throaty chuckle, Beatrix turned away from the pathetic scene and left the window behind. Her pumps clacked sharply against the smooth floor as she left the top floor and turned around and around the stairwell until she reached the ground floor and finally made her way to the entrance.
Students raced past her, very few even taking notice of her existence. There was little chatter, however. No child seemed to be willing to take a moment from their scrambling, their faces contorted with fear or determination. A slow sigh escaped her as she smiled warmly at a single one off to the side. His shoulders relaxed and, as he stared back at her, the fear drained from his face leaving a shy smile in its wake. Not another glance was spared in his direction as she reached the large doors and strode out into the night.
Gallaudet. Her loose, reddish hair was a dark brown in the night and dark circles sung of exhaustion beneath her eyes. Kyria, also suffering of dark rings beneath her eyes and a look of dread staining her slender face, was at the head of a sleigh. And, in the sleigh, Karu. Karu. Her Karu. An injured Karu. Silver, red, and the sunken pallor of sickness swarmed her sight. She stopped and, resting her left hand on her hip, turned to Gallaudet.
"So," she said, "it seems the pieces are falling into place. This is a game I am not looking forward to play but it must be done and it must be won. By us. Gallaudet, train your students well. They needn't know of what has transpired this night or what is to come but it may be best that they are prepared not for a little fight, but for war. A war is coming; a bloody war will ravage this land and only will the land be healed if we win. So again, train them well." She winked at Gallaudet before heading to Kyria.
"Leaving? Damasses. When you reach it, take Karu to a tavern called the 'Twilight Lotus'. It is on a small island in the middle of a pond, built into a grand old tree. It's hard to miss, just on the outskirts of the city. The tavern is run by a woman called K. She can help Karu until he's better, or until you can acquire some proper aid, should you find her unsavory. Understand?" she said and then turned to Gallaudet for a moment and then, looking back to Kyria, continued. "I will remain here for a while. There is some...business I must attend to. A few loose ends to tie up and a bit of dirt to clean. Take care of him. He needs you."
