Raven sighed and leaned against a wall. He couldn't find him... He closed his eyes in thought.
If Lucius wanted to come back, he would. And if he didn't want to thank Raven for the TWENTY THOUSAND gold he spent on him out of worry, then he didn't have to.

Lucius held his stomach. The pain was ceasing, but he was beginning to feel that it wasn't the potion. He was pushing past people trying to get to Raven; women, children, big scary guys with axes... Whenever the person would say "Ow", he's shrug and say, "Your fault..."

The man with red hair who he had been scoping hadn't been Raven, so Lucius was clueless as to where his friend had went, "Lord... Raven?"

Raven's vein bulged in frustration. He was getting back to normal.
"That little..." He stopped himself when he heard Lucius call his name. His eyes flashed open, his vein disappearing.
"Lucius?" he called out. He couldn't see him, but he could hear him only slight.

Canas came out from the back room of the apocethary and frowned at the girl, his assistant, "I heard you just charged someone TWENTY THOUSAND gold pieces for one bottle of medicine. You should be ashamed of yourself. Now, where is the money you cheated our customer out of?" The little girl shook her head, "Y-you must be mistaken, sir! I charged them... Twenty gold!" Yes... That should fool him... Canas glared at the girl, "This is the third time this week, young lady. Now, show me where you're hiding it." Canas raised his hand, and for a minute, it looked as though he were going to strike the girl. Instead, black tendrils of magic flowed from around his hand and surrounded the little girl. The elder magic stopped suddenly, and brought a pouch full of gold floating into Canas' outstretched hand. "Naughy girl. Trying to profit from your own greed? You should be ashamed of yourself. You're not going to do this again are you? You must promise me that you won't. If you don't, I DO have the right to kick you out. There's plenty of other people who could be my assistant. Ones I could probably trust more than you. Now, will you SWEAR to be good?" The little girl was shaking. She nodded, and Canas' glare faded. "Jolly good. I'll be back soon, I need to return the 19,980g of this that you overcharged. I'll be back soon." Canas hung his apron on a peg on the wall and pulled his travelling cloak off another peg next to it. He walked out of the store and saw Raven sitting on the ground just outside the door, "Excuse me, sir... Were you just in my store?" The mercenary nodded at him, "Ah, then I'm here to return your 19,980g that my assistant tried to overcharge you. I'm very sorry, sir." After placing the bag of gold in Raven's lap, Canas extended his hand, "I'm Canas. Pleasure meeting you, though I wish it could be under better circumstances. Is there anything I could do to make this up to you? I can provide you with just about any service you could need..."

Lucius approached Canas and Raven as the potion was beginning to wear off, and the pain was beginning to come back, "Lord... Raven... I'm sorry?" He said smiling, and nodding to Canas.

Raven shook hands with the man, 'Canas'. He happily pocketed his gold afterwards.
"I'm Raven." Soon enough, Lucius appeared as well.
"L-Lucius!"

Canas smiled warmly at the two, "Now, is there anything I can do for you two? I'm sure I could whip something up for your friend's stomach condition. Here, come in." Canas took on the attitude of a bussling maid. He hurried both inside, and into the back room. Putting his apron on, he began mixing strange liquids, some mixtures exploding in his face. He finally stopped using potions off a certain shelf, and went to a cupboard. Opening it, he took a small cauldron off of a shelf inside and placed it on the table. "Of course, why didn't I think of this before?" Golden liquid splashed around in the cauldron, occasionally some drops jumping out like dolphins. Canas carefully measured a smal dosage of the golden liquid into a small vial, then handed it to Lucius, "Drink that. It should fix you up. Anything I can get for you, Raven?"

Raven looked in bewilderment as Canas fixed up a cure so quickly.
"Wow..." he murmered. When Canas asked if he needed anything, he thought for a moment.
"Is there such a thing as a potion to make somebody forget something... permanantly?"

"Hmm... I'll have to see what I've got. I think I have something like that... There isn't a potion, but there is a spell... But it's risky. You seem brave, though... If you're brave enough, then..." Canas went into the same cupboard and picked up a small, black, leather-bound Spellbook. He flipped through the pages until he found what he was looking for, "Oh my... This is going to be rather complicated..." Canas reached into an inner pocket of his robe and produced a piece of chalk. He drew a large circle on the floor and drew many complicated symbols inside it. After a short time, he stood back to view his work. "If you feel up to it, stand in the center of the circle..."

Raven nodded and hesitantly stepped into the middle of the circle.
"Now what..?"

Lucius walked over to the side of the room as he watched Raven. He took a sip of the potion and closed his eyes at the intensity of the drink as it washed down his throat. He began thinking of what it was exactly that Raven wanted to forget.

"Well, now... You certainly are brave... Alright... First, you must tell me what you wish to forget..."

Raven thought for a moment. Could he not choose just one thing he wanted to forget? He stepped out of the circle for a moment, whispering into Canas' ear what he wanted to forget, and then stepped back into the circle.

"You're absolutely certain about this?" At Raven's nod, Canas placed a hand over the book. Within seconds, tendrils of dark magic crept up around Canas' arm, intertwining amongst themselves. Canas began to shake all over, sweat pouring down his face. He raised his free hand with some difficulty and pointed it at Raven. He began to mutter an incantation, but his mumble soon turned into a yell. His voice sounded like something from another world. Every lamp in the room extinguished, and the only thing lighting the room was a strange purple light eminating from around Canas. His monocle fell to his side, and something that seemed like another voice joined in the chant. The voice was low, and seemed to eminate from all around them. Another higher voice joined in, and made it sound all the more terrifying. As Canas seemed to reach the near-end of the chant, a shining light shot out from a small cross hanging around Lucius' neck. The light turned into a focused ray and shot into Canas, sending him flying across the room. Raven collapsed in the center of the circle, and all became dark in the room. Canas awoke, a throbbing pain in the back of his head. He had... Crashed into a wall? "Ugh..." Canas stood up and groped his way over to a lamp. Lighting it, he turned around and surveyed the room. It was a wreck. Books lay scattered everywhere, and several cauldrons had fallen off of shelves, some burning holes in the floor. "Well, this won't do..." Canas waved a hand in the air and his apron flew into it. A tiny white fox scurried out from under a pile of books "Ah, Phlephnir. You're unharmed?" The fox nodded at Canas, and climbed on top of the pile of books, curling up into a ball. Canas began waving his hands about in the air as though he were directing a symphony. Books picked themselves up and whizzed back onto shelves, and cauldrons followed the books. Canas finished cleaning the room up, then walked over to where Raven was lying on the ground. "Raven? Wake up..." Canas repeated these words as he gently shook Raven.

Hector grumbled slightly and glared at Matthew maliciously from underneath his cloak.

"Never do that again without asking me."
