Slowly the group ventured into the tall grass, she could hear the rustling and chittering of other Pokemon around her, and so she picked up Nyra who climbed up onto her shoulder. Sora looked around, and then up at the perfect blue of the sky. They moved further into the grasses, climbing over boulders and finally venturing near a rushing stream. They had spent a good half an hour making the walk, and now the sounds of the nearby city were long gone. She looked up at her father who continued to walk along the stream beside Ratchet. When she was a child she never understood her father's relationship with Ratchet. Perhaps she had been a bit jealous that he was always with his Pokemon but never with his family. Now that she had Nyra she understood that there was more to the partnership than she had previously realized. Perhaps that was where they needed work. Her and Nyra were indeed partners, but they had to learn to work as a team still. Ratchet and Parker seemed to move as one, barely looking at the other as they walked. Unconsciously she reached up and twirled Nyra's tail. Finally when they were deep in wild, her father stopped and held up a pointed hand to a small Patrat snacking away on a walnut in front of them. The little creature hardly took any notice to the group of them, probably used to travelling groups of trainers.

"Ready?" Parker asked quietly.Its now or neverShe thought to herself, she nodded her head and Nyra leaped off of her shoulder with a twirl, just to add some flare. The Patrat looked up in surprise and made to bolt. "Nyra, Glare!" she shouted quickly as Nyra gave her most fearsome stare toward the Patrat, running in front of it to block its escape. The Patrat tackled her hard before being knocked to the ground and given a good and terrifying Glare by the now roughed up Nyra. "Alright Nyra, now use leer! Don't let it escape!" She shouted, it was her first real wild encounter and Sora could feel her excitement rising. Nyra was doing so well! Nyra kept her movements circling the Patrat and blocking any escape. The Patrat was already having difficulty moving from the Glare and hissed in anger at Nyra who was surprised by the little Patrat's ferocity. "Now we have it! Corner it by the tree, then tackle!" Sora shouted. Nyra kept up the circling motions, pushing it farther and farther from escape before making a running leap and tackling it hard into the tree. When the Patrat did not immediately faint, she tackled it again and again until it collapsed beneath her. The little Snivy stepped back and now Sora had her chance. Taking a Poke-ball from her bag, she tossed it towards the Patrat, her anticipation growing!

In one motion, Nyra knocked the poke ball out of the way with her tail and stood defiantly before a stunned and hurt Sora. The Poke-ball bounced across the ground before rolling into the stream. "What, Nyra, what was that for." The little Snivy crossed her arms and shook her head. Even the normally jolly Ratchet was at a loss for words, the Braviary shook his head and looked over to Parker who took one of his own Poke-balls and caught the fainted Patrat easily.
Parker looked down at his daughter with a slight frown. "While that was well done, I think you have somethings to figure out between you and Nyra before you continue on your journey. This is all the training for today, we'll head back to Virbank City and get some rest. We'll continue tomorrow."

Jumping atop the dryer Robin pulled Zuko into her lap letting him nestle into the red sash around her hips. “Hey there buddy, ready for a dryer ride?” She laughed as ran her fingers through the soft white fur/hair on the fire bugs head. “Sorry this is going to be kind of boring but at least we aren’t out there cleaning with the others?” She chuckled glancing out the door to make sure they also weren’t getting into fights. Seeing as there wasn’t water, fire or fur flying Robin felt pretty good. Reaching for her bag Robin pulled out her phone and flipped through a few of the menu’s answered a text her mom had sent her checked a few other things. There were really only so many things she could do before getting bored and before she knew it she was flipping open and scanning through the few contacts she had on her phone. It was odd, she had spent a little while on her Pokémon journey and she didn’t know all that many people. Sure she had been at that party and had met a few people, and Robin was pretty sure that she would have made better friends with some of them, like the cool guy with the Charizard. She also met the angry redhead and the cheerful blonde girl, Robin wondered if she would ever meet any of them again. Kicking her feet against the rumbling washer she flipped through her contacts before she stopped at a familiar name.

“Hmm, Jaeshan, I wonder how he has been.” She wondered to herself remembering the fun time she had both at the beach party and when they had traveled together. Giggling slightly she squeezed the cute little Larvesta to her chest and indulged in a complete and total girl moment as she remembered the kiss the handsome blond had given her. Quickly doing her best to suppress her giggles she stared at her phone a big smile on her face as her finger toyed over the number for a second. Bringing up her courage she pressed the call button. Holding back the phone up to her ear, Robin did her best to hold back her nervous enthusiasm by squeezing the now starting to get irritated Zuko to her chest. The redhead waited patiently while the phone rang. She was a little disappointed when the phone went to the answering part but figured that he could be in a battle or something. Well whatever the reason Robin sighed and left a short message.

“Hey, it’s Robin, just calling to see if everything is going ok with you. Call me back whenever you get a chance or want to. I guess… Oh geez, um if you don’t want to that is ok. Uh yeah. Um, ok call me back or something.”

Her face flushed red again Robin quickly hung up and banged her head against the nearby wall. “Oh geeze Robin, way to make a fool of yourself, real smart.” She groaned. In her arms Zuko struggled where he was still pressed up against her. “Ah sorry Zuko, didn’t mean to squeeze you like that.” Letting her young Pokémon go she gave him a sheepish look before crossing her arms over her chest defensively. “Geeze Robin, first you embarrass yourself totally then you almost kill your Pokémon. You are on a roll today.” Just then the washer beeped scaring Robin causing her to jump slightly, scream and fall right off the dryer.

Looking up at Zuko, Mareepish look on Robin’s face the redhead blushed as she picked herself up. “Don’t tell anyone about that Zuko.” Robin tried to hush him but the small bug only stared down at her before turning his fuzzy head over to the door where all of her pokemon, even the lost and now found Luffy were looking at her with huge smiles on their faces. “Gu-uys!” Robin whined as she flushed even more red. “It isn’t that funny.” Of course that opened the floodgates as all of them seemed to fall over themselves in laughing at her, even the stoic Ace was smirking at her. Huffing slightly Robin ignored Luffy and Black*Star who had fallen on the floor with laughter completely besides themselves, and opened the washer door scooping up her now clean, if wet, clothing and transferring them.

“Well then, seems like I am the killer of fun here.” Came an amused voice from the door.

Looking over Robin spotted Ampersand leaning against the door and at his feet were a bunch of now sleeping Pokémon, except for Luffy who just kept laughing at her misery. Brightening up slightly Robin slammed the door on the dryer and pressed the on button before hopping up onto that machine as well. “Hey there Ampersand.” She fumbled through her bag and recalled all of her Pokémon blocking the door only leaving the still awake Luffy and the slumbering Larvesta , who she didn’t have the heart to put away when he looked so cute face planted on the washer top fast asleep. “What’s up with you? Have a good nap?” Picking the Larvesta up from the washer so the older man had a place to sit she scooted over a little as well as Luffy wedged himself on her half of the dryer.

“Hm thanks.” Ampersand muttered as he sat himself on top of the no longer in use washer. “The nap was pretty good, I spent all morning setting up that obstacle coarse for you so a little well deserved shut eye was nice.” He paused leaning back on the appliance before casting her an amused look. “You look like you are ready to get out of town huh? Enough training?”

“I can never have enough training! There is always something I can learn.” The redhead blurted out determinedly. At her side Luffy and her shared a highfive, well a tail hand with three fingers and a human hand with five fingers. “However I am getting a little tired of this place. Time to move onto the next town ya know?”

“Glad to hear that, and I hope your team is rested up because all of them.” At this Ampersand looked down at the small and very sheltered bug in Robin’s arms and the monkey at her side. “We’ll be working together to get to the next town. Outside is a sort of Pokémon sled, they will all switch off as leader and they all need to work together to get to the next town.”

“Pokémon sledding relay?” What the heck was that? There wasn’t any snow here, sure it was a lot colder here than in Johto but still no snow on the ground. “Um Slowpoke isn’t very fast, and Ace doesn’t have the best endurance, plus even after that last battle I am pretty sure Black*Star might try to eat Ace.” She wasn’t feeling very good about this, though the concept of being pulled around on a sort of sled thing by her Pokémon sounded amazingly fun.

“Why are you making excuses for them? Do you not trust them?” The look on Ampersands face seemed stern but curious at the same time.

His question threw Robin off a bit, was that what she was doing? Making excuses for her Pokémon when something seemed hard? Ace and Black*Stars fighting, she couldn’t help Slowpoke from being slow that was even part of his name! The rest though, it might just be that. “Well I suppose you are right. This might be good for all of them, plus it does sound fun.” She pondered that for a moment before she remembered her plans on going to the Pokemart. “Ah is it ok if we go to the Pokemart first? I wanted to buy a few TM’s. I promised Ace I would get one for him since he didn’t get one last time and maybe see if I can get a few for this little guy here.” She hefted up the sleeping Larvesta for emphasis.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 07, 2014 1:35 pm

“The Pokemart?” Ampersand asked curiously rubbing his chin thoughtfully. “Sure why not. Do you even know what moves the little firebug can learn anyway?”

“Erm… No?” Robin frowned slightly and at her side Luffy laughed at her again. “Shut up Luffy.” She muttered before reaching into her bag and pulling out her Pokedex again. Flipping it open she scanned in Zuko again and was met again with the frustrating, NO INFO, listing again. Growling slightly she shut it and sighed, it didn’t help that the only info was a picture of her little Pokemon and its name. “That isn’t very helpful.”

“Did you download the latest update?” Ampersand offered looking down at it curiously.

“Update?” Robin blinked blue eyes owlishly as Luffy again started to laugh even harder at her. “You are so not helpful Luffy!” She chided as her face resumed its favorite color of the day. Still she flipped open the dex again and there in a bright bubble in the corner was a flashing icon that indicated that yes, there was an update. Angrily jabbing her finger on the button Robin chewed on her bottom lip as she ignored the chuckles coming from Ampersand and Luffy who was now clambering onto her shoulder, despite his now bigger size making this a bit awkward, to get a better look. The three waited a moment as the dex updated itself and when it chimed it’s helpful all done sound Robin pointed it back at Zuko and scanned the sleeping Larvesta again.

Larvesta, the Torch Pokemon.
Ability: Flame Body, if another Pokémon attacks Larvesta there is a chance that it might become burned.
These Pokémon are said to be born from the sun. They make their homes at the base of volcanos, when Larvesta needs to defend itself it shoots fire from its five horns to repel its enemies. When Larvesta evolve they become engulfed in flame.

“Oh how cool.” Robin muttered as the red machine read out the information for the trio. “I didn’t know that Zuko could evolve.” She murmured, looking at the small Pokémon resting in her lap.

“You didn’t know this little guy existed until he hatched from his egg the other day.” Ampersand pointed out.

“Yeah well, I wonder what it evolves into? It must be something really cool if it engulfs itself in flames. Let’s see what moves he knows.” She scrolled down a little ignoring the small evolution chart for the moment. What she found was a little disappointing and she faltered slightly. “String Shot and Ember.” Ok someone defiantly needed TM’s. “Oh looks like you know an egg move though!” She was pretty excited with that, she had a special and if what she understood it was pretty rare and even on top of that he knew an egg move! “Morning Sun.” She murmured. “Oh cool he can heal himself depending on how sunny it is outside.” The redhead rubbed her chin thoughtfully as a few thoughts drifted through the vast empty space of her mind. “Aren’t there a few other moves that depend on sunlight? It might be a good idea to look into those. Oh here! Moves it can learn list and a TM list!” Scrolling down she hummed slightly as she held the device out for all three of them to read and comment on.

In the end they decided on a few TM’s for Zuko and one for Ace, if she had the money for them all. Robin was pretty sure she didn’t have the straight up cash for them but after some careful thought she decided she might want to sell a few of the TM’s she had earned over her gym badges. With the total cash she might be able to buy the ones she wanted. The three of them sat in the laundry room idly chatting while Robin’s clothing dried. Eventually the machine beeped and pulling it all out Robin folded the items and with Luffy’s help stuffed them into her bag. “All rightie, let’s head to the Pokemart.” Robin cheered grabbing a hold of the still sleeping Larvesta and high-fiving, or high eighting in their case. “Haha! Sorry you aren’t getting a TM this time around Luffy but you already have gotten three.” She giggled slightly as she ignored Ampersand roll his eyes at their antics and headed off waving goodbye to the nurse as they escaped the hustle and bustle of a very big and busy Pokémon center, Robin also ignored Ampersands snickers at people who were wondering why their Pokémon suddenly fell asleep.

Like most Pokemarts this one was pretty close to the Pokémon Center, Robin wondered when they would just combine the two into one building; it would make things so much easier. Still the walk was nice and Robin made sure to remind herself to keep an eye on Luffy because he was known to mess things up in Pokemarts, or Pokémon Centers, really anywhere he went. In fact now that she thought about it she could probably make Ampersand babysit him while she made a quick stop made her sales and bought what she needed. Shifting Zuko into one arm Robin grinned as she scooped Luffy up and promptly shoved the squirming monkey in Ampersands well muscled arms. “Here baby sit him so he doesn’t break anything, if he does your paying for it not me!” She laughed at her bold move as she shoved her way into the Pokemart.

“Hello! I would like to sell these TM’s and buy these ones!” Robin handed over a small stickie note she had written the ones she wanted on the list while she started to fish around in her bag for both her wallet and her TM case. Finding both after a little search she ignored Ampersand and Luffy’s scuffle as the two walked in the door, apparently Luffy was irritated he wasn’t being allowed to jump to the top of the shelves or something; Robin wasn’t paying that much attention. “Bingo!” She pulled all three TM’s out of the case and placed them on the counter. She waited while the cashier checked to see if they were real before nodding and the two of them worked out a nice price and practically emptying her wallet on top of that Robin was soon the proud owner of four new TM’s! “Nice doing business with you!” She grinned before scooping Zuko up again and headed out of the store. “Come on you two stop goofing around.” Luffy now had Ampersands hat on top of his own and was taunting the older man about it mercilessly.

Waiting for them outside of the store she grinned as Ampersand snatched his hat back and practically dropped Luffy onto the ground. “Heh, thanks for that. Mind taking a few steps back so that I can have my Pokémon be awake when I teach them their new moves?”

“Yeah, yeah, just use me as a cheap babysitter then send me away.” The older man grumbled walking an appropriate distance away and seating himself on one of the cities many benches.

The further the strange man walked away the more Zuko woke up in Robin’s arms. “Hey there buddy.” Robin chirped in greeting. “I have some surprises for you. We were looking over your move pool earlier and decided it defiantly needed an upgrade if you were going to be going into any sort of battle. So I emptied my wallet and bought you some new ones.” Stepping out of the direct path of door she set the small bug down and held up three shiny disks for him. “All these are yours!” Robin couldn’t help but feel a rush of joy as the small bugs eyes widened to the size of saucers as he looked up at her. “Haha, you like them? Well let’s see first up we have…” She squinted at the disk for a second reading the small inscription on it. “Ah Sunny Day! From what I have seen if you use it your fire moves will be boosted for a while, and your special move will heal you more.” Robin had thought that move was pretty appropriate considering the pokedex’s description of Larvesta. Placing the disk on his forehead she watched as it glowed for a second before crumbling into dust, she giggled slightly as a lot of it landed on the fire bugs head. “Right, this next one works really well with Sunny Day. It is called Solar Beam it takes in sunlight and then shoots off in a super strong beam attack. It normally takes a little while to use but with Sunny Day here you can shoot off as many Solar Beams as you want!” She grinned, Robin had thought to get that move herself. It was probably one of the most strategic things she had ever come up with. The strong grass move would help defend her Pokémon against two types he was weak against, rock and water, what a surprise that would be for any opponent who thought they had the advantage! She placed the disk on Zukos head and watched as the information was absorbed into the cute little bug and the disk crumbled once again. “All right the last one is pretty cool. Raz learned this one and it is pretty handy, especially considering you guys don’t have any hands.” She giggled as Zuko waved his cute little forepincer things and shook her head. “Well I guess those are hands but they aren’t as useful as say Luffy’s or mine right? Anyway this is Psychic, it lets you move things with your mind, cool huh?” Once again she went through the motions of teaching the TM to the bug. “There you go! All ready for battles after this. Well this and some practice yeah?”

Fishing around in her bag for Ace’s pokeball she released the Monferno and gave the fire starter a big grin. “Ace! As I promised I got you a TM when I got the money. I looked through and I saw there were a lot that would be good but we need to go to tutors for some of the things I want to teach you, like Ice Punch and stuff. So since we aren’t there for that I bought you the TM that would be best for you I think. It’s called Protect and it will let you block any move that comes at you.” She held the shiny disk for Ace to inspect for a moment; the Monferno just looked up at her and raised a brow clearly wanting further explanation. Deflating a bit at his lack of enthusiasm Robin stared at the monkey for a moment before pulling her courage back up and continued. “Erm well, ah, I just noticed that you like to dodge all your attacks but seem to get caught in the big ones, so I figured this could be your ace in the hole!” She giggled at her own pun, even Ace seemed to be amused by it, slightly that is. “Right, well you could use it if you need to. I know you are super fast and super strong but your defenses aren’t really all that good right? So if you can’t dodge something just use this and you won’t even be hit!”

Ace for his part was at first offended at the thought that his trainer didn’t seem to think he was fast enough to just avoid everything but after hearing her explanation he was actually really impressed. She was actually proving that she paid attention, and a lot of it. Robin clearly wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed but it was clear she was trying and this defiantly showed that. In fact she had looked right past his ego and natural talent and got right to the heart of the mater pressing into something Ace would never have acknowledged if he was left to his own devices. This must be one of the reasons why Pokémon with trainers always without fail seemed stronger then Pokémon that worked on their own no matter how much they trained. Well, that was that in Ace’s book, even if his trainer did seem like a Jumpluff head at times she saw things he ignored, it was probably time he started listening to her and taking her more seriously.

What happened next had Robin pretty shocked in a happy way. It came with no warning when the Monferno did something Robin never expected to happen, ever. The stubborn loner that was her Monferno hugged her. Not a quick, reluctant hug, no this was a full on Ursaring hug. Not wanting to waste it Robin gave a happy cry as she scooped the fire Pokémon up into her arms as well. “Oh Ace I don’t know what brought this on but I love you to.” She murmured just for Ace to hear. “I am always going to be here for you. Sorry I wasn’t earlier.” She might have wanted to say more but decided against it and they shared a moment for just a little while longer before Robin let him down and placed the disk on Ace’s head. The two smiled as the disk crumbled into dust. “When I come across those tutors we will work on getting those punches for you all right?” The Monferno just nodded and smiled brightly at his trainer.

After being pointed in the right direction, Jasper handed in his telekinetic Venonat for judging, but only because he had to and not because he cared in the slightest about winning. He settled himself down onto a soft patch of grass, once again giving Croconaw an envious glare, and rested his head in his arms, finding it tougher and tougher to keep his eyes open until he'd eventually fallen asleep right there. His nap wouldn't last, however, as almost as soon as he'd drifted off, a loud, blaring horn went off, signaling the end of the contest and causing Jasper to jump about six feet off the ground in fright, and the following announcement made him jump another three. "The Bug-Catching Contest is now over! All Trainers please report to the south gate!"

"Do I have to?" Jasper yawned, stretching his arms overhead and giving Croconaw a nudge with his foot. How she'd slept through that was a mystery to him. "Wake up." The gator gave a great big yawn and groggily pulled herself to her feet, shooting her trainer a nasty look. "Don't be like that," Jasper grumbled, stifling another yawn of his own. "We can sleep when we're dead, c'mon, it's time to go."

Completely lacking in gusto, the pair slowly made their way to the park's southern gate, very nearly the last ones there despite being the first ones 'done' the competition. Everyone had lined up, just like at the start, but this time Jasper paid a lot more attention; hey, maybe he'd actually win a prize, and totally legit, too.

...Nope. The bandanna-clad youth and his grumpy Pokemon were then treated to the announcement of the winners, none of which included them. Third place was taken by the girl with the creepy Noctowl, and Jasper felt as though the universe had kicked him in the shins when it was revealed that her 'winning capture' had been a Paras. Second place had gone to a man that was easily double the age of any of the other contestants, though there was no doubting that the strong-looking Beedrill he'd captured deserved to win. Last but not least, Jasper actually found himself grinning when he saw that today's big winner was the Big Straw Hat Kid that he'd spoken to before the contest, a wicked Pinsir standing by his side. "Heh, good job, kid," Jasper murmured, now opting to tune out as the announcer had gone on to inform the masses that everyone was a winner, something which Jasper disagreed with one-hundred-and-fifty percent even as the Park Ball containing his telekinetic Venonat was returned to him by one of the contest workers.

A few hours and some lunch later, Hayley had biked north until she passed through the Vermilion City limits. As she'd been waiting for her Pokemon to finish their meals, she'd studied up on the surrounding area and cities nearest Vermilion. If she had to wait a few days for the ferry, she was going to make them interesting, at the very least! Saffron was the closest city, being due north from where she was now. Traveling by bike made everything that much easier as she was easily able to navigate the well-traveled paths and roads once she'd left the major areas of Vermilion behind her. From there, anyway, she could go to Lavender Town, Celadon City or even Cerulean - exactly where her next gym challenge awaited, if she dared.

The trouble with having so many choices in destination was narrowing it down - all three cities sounded terribly interesting/exciting. However, she had gone with her mom to Celadon City a few times for extensive shopping days, and she'd also been to Lavender Town before, as her whole family had made the trip specifically to the Pokemon Tower when one of her father's Pokemon had passed away. As fascinating as the tower had been, it didn't hold very pleasant memories for her so Hayley decided against going there, at least for now. The thought of taking on her second gym challenge sounded like a great idea, but she wasn't sure she was ready for that just yet. Perhaps she should go to Celadon; check out the department store and maybe pick up a few new moves for some of her Pokemon - she had saved up a modest amount so far and adding a little diversity wouldn't be a bad thing.

It was decided! She'd head to Celadon! But first, she'd have to get through Saffron, which wasn't a small city, either. Hayley looked up, taking note of where the sun was as it made its journey across the sky. By the look of it, she'd probably have to stay in Saffron for the night, unless she wanted to travel in the dark. While the brunette was just fine with that, Cynder would have her hide if she tried something like that, and the Bennett girl smiled at the thought of her overprotective Pokemon.

"I think it went just fine," Eva replied from her side of the field, her Swellow coming to land by her side. "But you don't seem very happy, did you want to stop the battle?" she asked, concern in her voice.

"No, I do not want to stop the battle," Riza angrily retorted. "That Fearow and I have never seen eye to eye, that's all." She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down. She had three gym battles and a contest ribbon to her name. She wasn't a rookie trainer anymore, she was the real thing. And she wasn't going to let a bad round stop her from taking this battle, from taking all the battles! And she knew just what Pokemon to send out next. "You're up, Eris! Swift attack, go!" Her spirited Quilava burst from her poke ball, flames already roaring from her head and back end. She reared back and opened her mouth, unleashing a swarm of glittering gold stars that all began to rocket towards Eva's Swellow and the real one, at that.

"Ooh, a Quilava, nice," Eva commented as the swift stars pelted her flying-type. "And good call, using a no miss move like that!" She studied the Quilava for a moment, thinking. "Okay Swellow! Drop the act and get in there and hit it with a Quick Attack!" Trilling, the blue and red bird began to speed toward Eris, wings tucked at its sides. Riza blinked as she saw the copies all disappear, but realized it made sense as Eris could easily pick out the real one, both from her swift attack and her odd psychic abilities.

"Eris! You use Quick Attack to dodge!" Riza called, decidedly against losing two Pokemon to the same opponent. Though by no means faster than the Swellow, her Quilava was no Slowpoke either and was able to dart out of the way, her fiery quills hissing as the air rushed through them. Riza thought about what Mike had said about her evolution, and smiled to herself. Perhaps this fight could trigger that evolution!

"Seraphim! Dodge!" Katie called, but it was far too late. The Croagunk had closed in on the Roselia with a series of quick steps and fancy foot work and the small grass-type cried out as she was sent tumbling back from a strong jab to her middle. Her poison typing made it so the damage was only neutral, but that Croagunk really packed a punch, ouch! It was as though all the health she'd stolen from the Machoke had in turn been stolen from her and in one hit, at that.

The martial artist said nothing but smiled. The girl seemed like a good trainer but she was definitely a bit cocky. "Poison Jab, again," he called. The Croagunk gave a cry and once again was moving forward, twisting his arm and once again jabbing a glowing hand into the already staggered Roselia.

Seraphim cried out weakly, but she was still standing. Katie narrowed her eyes. "Okay Seraph, you were great, but it's time to come back. Miles, you're up!" she called, returning the Roselia to her poke ball and switching for her Floatzel's all in one motion. The Sea Weasel Pokemon stood tall as he studied his opponent, while Katie frowned as the man across from her chuckled. "What's so funny?" she demanded.

"Oh nothing, you'll see," he said, nodding to his Pokemon. "Brick Break, let's go!" Croagunk let out a high pitched cry and jumped at Miles, that same arm once again extended and ready to strike. Miles didn't need to be told to to dodge and he did, watching with a smirk as the poison-type's fist left a large crack in the floor boards.

"Ugh, Electric-types are so rude," Tessa grumbled, looking ruefully at her Pokeball before clipping it back onto her belt. "Though I'm a lot more used to facing Mareep and Flaaffy." She exhaled sharply through her nose and glared once more at Zaira before she took up another Pokeball. "This one should be troublesome!" she announced as she let it fly, and a few seconds later, a small, blue and purple bat was released from its confinement, squeaking.

It took Kasiya several solid moments of staring at said bat before it clicked in that it was actually a Zubat, and even then her very first coherent thought on the matter was "but it looks wrong". Zaira's battle-ready growls snapped her back to reality and she smiled to herself. Oh yeah, not all Zubats are green and pink, like Fang is, she thought, smiling fondly at the thought of her 'special' Crobat. Sometimes she really did miss him as a tiny, squeaking Zubat where the only damage he could do to her was cling to the back of her head and mess up her hair. That being said, she knew exactly what to expect from this Flying-type, and she nodded. "Okay Zaira, get ready! Hit it with a Spark!" The Luxio's body flared with electricity and she jumped at the Zubat, eager to bring it down as quickly as she had the Pidgey.

"Fly up, and blast it with Supersonic," Tessa practically snarled. She'd also picked up on the fact that the Luxio didn't seem to have any ranged attacks at her disposal. Squeaking, the tiny bat fluttered its wings and carried itself up out of the Electric-type's reach, much to Zaira's annoyance, and it opened its mouth, sending out a high-pitched cry that made Kasiya's ears ring. It had an even stronger effect on Zaira, who whined and tried to cover her ears with her paws, but to no avail - the Supersonic waves had confused her.

Now that Bibarel was in full-on Rollout mode, there was no stopping her so all Jaeshan could do was call out words of encouragement to his rampaging Normal/Water-type. He wasn't sure if she could win this round, but he still had another Pokemon he could use, and if he could beat Georgia, she'd take them to Gardenia. He sighed and received a reassuring pat on the back from Lisa, who had no shortage of uplifting comments to send his way. The blond looked on as Bibarel completed a lap and went hurtling toward the Carnivine again.

"I think that's just about enough of that," Georgia said, hands planted firmly on her hips. "Carnivine, use Grass Knot!" she called, now giggling. Carnivine seemed to be laughing as well and it lowered itself to the ground, a green glow shimmering from where its 'feet' touched the ground. A clump of grass seemed to grow up and out of nowhere and it entangled Bibarel as she passed by, causing her Rollout to come to an early end and send her skidding across the ground.

"Bibarel!" Jaeshan cried, a rare moment of worry flaring in his chest for his Pokemon. Even when she was a Bidoof, he'd never really had to worry about her as she had always shown she was quite capable of handling herself. But seeing her trip over the Grass Knot and crash hard to the ground like that set him off. "Pull yourself together! Ice Beam!" he called, hoping to rile his Pokemon up so that she could finish the fight. Grunting, the Beaver Pokemon pulled herself to her feet. That fall had hurt a lot more than she wanted to admit, and looking up into the Carnivine's grinning fave only served to anger her even further. Her mouth gaped open and she practically spat the ray of ice at her target.

Georgia wasn't exactly excited to see another Ice Beam rocketing toward her Grass-type, but it was coming in too fast for Carnivine to do anything about it. "Brace yourself, and then let's get it all back with a Giga Drain!" she called, crossing her fingers and hoping that her Pokemon would survive the hit. Luckily for both of them, Bibarel wasn't bursting with special attack power and the ice smashed into Carnivine, making him wince from the strike. He was able to shake it off though, and grinning maliciously, honed right in on Bibarel. His fanged mouth gaped open and he chomped down on her right shoulder, and the Normal/Water-type cried out in pain as he began to suck the life right out of her.

It was well past sunset by the time Miharu and Emile arrived back in Nuvema Town, and well past suppertime, as well. At first, Miharu was reluctant to return to Professor Juniper's lab as she already felt as though she'd caused enough trouble for the kind woman - giving her a place to stay, a Pokemon, a new PokeDex and even that XTransceiver thingy, but since she didn't know anyone else in town, nor was there a Pokemon Center for her to take refuge in, she didn't have much of a choice. She'd knocked meekly at the front door and was ready to turn around and camp out under the stars after only a few seconds, but her sleepy-looking Pokemon convinced her otherwise. She didn't even need to plead her case with Professor Juniper as she was ushered inside. Emile waltzed right in the moment the door was opened, as to him, this was more or less his home and he didn't need an invitation!

Miharu declined the offer of a late supper in favor of sleep, as her head had started to pound again and all she wanted to do was crawl under the blankets and possibly not come out again for the next month or so. Her Oshawott wasn't having any of this meal-skipping nonsense, but luckily for him, he was liked enough around the lab for one of the many assistants to take care of his grumbling belly while his exhausted trainer trudged up to bed. Miharu changed into her pajamas almost automatically, finding that she seemed to survive a little better if she forced her mind to stay blank. Of course, this became impossible as soon as she climbed into bed and her mind ran rampant, and all she could do was obsess and worry over the welfare of her Pokemon. She was sure that by now, they all thought she'd abandoned them and she felt so helpless, and weak. Leroy had played her for a complete fool, and now her Pokemon were suffering for her severe lack of judgement.

A little while and a full belly later, Emile waddled his way upstairs, now ready for a good night's sleep after all of that difficult battling he'd done today. Not only that, but he felt as though he'd been away from Miharu for too long. He'd been expecting to find her already sleeping, but this wasn't the case as she was sitting up in her bed, hugging her knees and sobbing quietly into the night. The Oshawott's spirits plummeted as he took in the sight of his miserable trainer. She always seemed to be crying... was he that bad of a Pokemon? How many times in one day could he fail her? Nearly in tears himself, the otter Pokemon hopped up onto the bed and wrapped his arms around Miharu's leg, wailing softly. Miharu sniffled and smiled weakly. "Oh Emile," she said, picking up the Water-type and cuddling him in her arms. "It's not you, it's me. It's all my fault. If I hadn't been so blind, so stupid... so naive." She sighed and held the Oshawott against her. What if she let him down; somehow lost him, too? She hadn't known him for even a full day yet and he already seemed to trust her completely. No, she thought defiantly, her eyes snapping open and narrowing. I won't let anything happen to Emile. Professor Juniper gave him to me, and I will take care of him no matter what.

As the two hungover-beyond-all-belief boys attempted to plan the suicide pact together, all the while lamenting their own misery and amazing life choices, their doom was approaching them at a much more rapid pace than either of them would prefer. One of the forms of doom was in the form of a very attractive older woman who looked like she had spent the past 48 hours or so traveling back and forth between all the regions. This was most likely because she had just spent the first part traveling to Sinnoh in order to help her wayward son, only to find out he had up and left the hospital and his injured pokemon. While she had been searching for him she had recieved another call from a police station in Hoenn saying her son had been arrested. Needless to say Violets day was going fantastic. Her clothes were rumpled and she was not made up in the slightest as she practically stormed into the police department. Honestly, she did not have time to deal with this at the moment, her own life was very hectic and while she had been happy to come help her son out with his pokemon being injured and him practically breaking down from the sounds of it, Violet was not so happy to be bailing him out of prison. At least she could yell at him here and knew where he was. Still the boy had broken one the most important, not to mention one of the few, rules she had ever placed on him as a child. If you are going to do something bad or wrong then don’t get caught, with a side note of don’t get molested. She had bought him a fake ID so she wouldn’t be dragged around to buy him things he wanted, or if the police wondered why he wasn’t in school or something. That had been a problem when he was younger.

Heading to the front desk the normally lovely, now just travel weary redhead, was somewhat irritated as she gave her first and last name to the officer who took her to a sort of waiting room assuring her they would let her see her son in just a moment. It turned out the rumpled redhead wasn’t alone in the room, or even the only other redhead there. She didn’t sit down for a moment as she stared at the other couple, who seemed to be equally upset as her, though the father seemed to be more angry then upset. Sleepy green eyes stared at them for a moment, they looked familiar somehow. Why was that? It took a moment of somewhat rude staring before she realized where she knew them from! Their businesses were loosely connected, her Pokémon reservation and their Pokémon breeding business, they sometimes met at conventions or other such get togethers. These were the Summers, which meant if her memory served her right her son had a companion in that jail cell. Violet was just happy that Dante seemed to have a friend, with all the moving around they did when he was younger it seemed like he was a loner. Even if that friend was a handsome for his age angry redhead who seemed like he was just as likely to punch her son as the person currently was pissed off at, knowing Dante’s mouth probably him. Still, her son deserved a punch to the face every once in a while she figured. Violet also figured the redhead might not have that many friends as well, what with that temper of his, match made in heaven.

The redhead sighed a she sat down near them. “Am I to assume your son is also in the jail cell next to mine?” She offered as she reached into her bag and pulled out her hair brush. Just because she was exhausted and sleep deprived thanks to her son didn’t mean she was going to let her hair stay a complete mess. “Honestly I don’t know how many times I told him if he was going to do something wrong to not get caught.” She sighed as she ran the brush through her hair getting the knots out before setting it into a french braid. That done she tossed the thick bundle of hair over her shoulder and looked at the two again. “Sorry if I am being rude, it has been a long few days. You two are the Summers correct? My name is Violet Remington, last I heard our sons were friends which is why I am being somewhat presumptuous; forgive me if I am mistaken.”

It is generally a fairly safe assumption that most people wouldn't want to be woken up from a dead sleep at three or so in the morning on most days. It is an even safer assumption that most people don't want to be woken up at three in the morning by a phone call from the Police Department of another city to inform them that their prodigal son had been arrested for underage drinking and public drunkenness and probably a bunch of other idiotic charges, and now they had to go all the way to Petalburg City to bail him out or something. It was apparent by the mixture of anger and exhaustion on the faces of Todd and Maggie Summers. Maggie appeared to be more concerned than upset, while Todd's expression wasn't too far removed from his default one, which his son had once referred to as 'grump-tastic indignation'. Unsurprisingly, the remark had resulted in him being sent to his room.

The pair had looked up expectantly when the door opened, and both gave small sighs of disappointment when they saw that the officer that had escorted them here was bringing in someone else to wait - a weary-looking and very familiar redheaded woman. The couple exchanged glances as she sat down across from them, and the next several moments consisted of some very awkward silence until the familiar woman broke it before pulling a hairbrush out of her bag. The sudden noise made Maggie jump a little, and she nodded slowly. "I... I suppose so," she answered, her voice sounding a little uncertain as she watched the redhead brush the tangles from her hair. A little self-consciously, she raised a hand to smooth out her own hair - strawberry blonde with only a few grey hairs visible (which was somewhat surprising considering all the stress that raising Keegan had brought her over the years) - had become a little frazzled during the long car ride here and she was certain that the bags under her eyes were visible from a mile away. Of course, their delinquent son hadn't bothered to return his father's Charizard like he was supposed to, and since The Dame was the only air-worthy Pokemon in their possession, they had to rent a car rather than risk taking the old truck and having it breakdown in the middle of Arceus-knows-where and strand them.

Todd Summers, ever the conversationalist, had said nothing up to this point, and even when he was reintroduced to Violet he merely grunted in reply; arms folded firmly across his chest. "Yes, yes," Maggie answered, pushing aside her own vanity issues in lieu of good manners. "I'm Maggie, and this is my husband, Todd. Of course I remember you, Violet. It's good to see you, though I wish it were on better terms." She stopped then, having fully intended to mention that she didn't recall Violet having a son - a daughter, yes, but never a son - again as she realized that it would be rude to mention it. Perhaps she'd been mistaken after all of this time, but then again, their children weren't often brought along to these conventions and meetings and whatnot so it was possible. Again, the Summers exchanged glances as it was mentioned that their son was friends with Violet's son, which was definitely news to them. Keegan's explosive temper made most people want to avoid him like the plague - or at the very least, an Electrode, and Maggie smiled to herself at the thought. "That seems very likely," she nodded, looking over at her stoic husband and plucking a bit of fuzz from his salt-and-pepper speckled, yet still very red hair. "I just hope the boys didn't cause too much trouble last night," she said, now fiddling with her purse strap.

"He's grounded until he's sixty," Todd stated matter-of-factly, showcasing yet another rare sign that he was in fact a living thing after all and not a statue.

"Todd," Maggie sighed.

"Fine. Fifty, then." Despite his hardened expression and stony stare, there was an unmistakable hint of amusement in his tone then.

Miharu's sleep was a little less troubling this time, though when she opened her eyes the following morning, she realized that she didn't feel any more energetic than she had the night before. Beside her, under the covers and curled up into a little ball of blue and white and still very much asleep was Emile, snoring somewhat loudly. Every once in a while, his toes would twitch and Miharu wondered what the Oshawott was dreaming about. She stayed in bed a little while longer, staring at the ceiling while her Pokemon dreamed about big battles and daring deeds, all the while growing stronger so that he could keep his new trainer safe from harm. When it felt like a more reasonable time to crawl out from under the warm blankets, Miharu poked the Water-type awake and swung her legs over the side of the bed. She still didn't feel ready to face another day, even if she had planned to do absolutely nothing, but she somehow knew she wouldn't be able to do nothing so long as Professor Juniper was around.

It took a lot of psyching herself up to muster enough courage to ask if she could use the bathroom to take a shower, and she still could feel the heat of embarrassment in her cheeks as she trudged to the facilities; her solemn request having been met with both confusion and amusement by the ever-cheerful Professor Juniper. She didn't feel better even after her shower, or even after forcing herself to eat a very small breakfast, and yet she felt a strange sense of urgency as she wandered aimlessly around the grounds outside, oblivious to her Oshawott's happy cries as he tottered along after her.

One thing that Damien definitely appreciated was Karrigan's apparent lack of interest in his 'gift.' Or, if she was interested/cared, she was doing a rather good job of keeping it to herself, but either way, he was finding that he was actually enjoying her quiet company. Not only that, but shortly after they'd sat down to brunch, Damien noticed that Eli had disappeared, and even the absurd amount of spirits normally within range seemed to have dropped off, a well. He couldn't remember ever having such a quiet, uninterrupted meal. He'd also taken note of Karrigan's party, realizing quickly that her Cubchoo had already grown quite a bit since the first time it had rubbed its snotty nose all over his pants. It also stood out to him that she had a full party of Pokemon while he only had four, one of them being his newly hatched/evolved Milotic, and he wasn't sure he was willing to count her just yet, and not just because she seemed to hate him more than anything else, either. Even still, he couldn't help but wonder what sorts of Ghost-type Pokemon haunted the Unova region.

The bespectacled young man was still marveling at the noticeable lack of spiritual activity around him, so Karrigan' questions surprised him a little. "Striaton? Yes, absolutely," he nodded, removing his glasses and holding them up to the light. "And yes, I do have a bicycle, though it has been quite some time since I used it last. If you have one as well, are you suggesting that we use them in order to expedite our traveling time?" He didn't wait for an answer to start digging through his bag for the odd yet conveniently collapsible contraption.

Listening to the two of them Violet chuckled slightly as they discussed punishment for there son. "Oh my, he certainly is going to never see the light of day again." Violet wondered who would really be punished in that situation though, as much as she loved her son she certainly didn't want him in her home for fifty years! Not to say her son was getting off scott free that was for sure, oh no he was in so much trouble, though Violet had a bit more sympathy for him since he probably wasn't exactly in the right state of mind right at the moment. It was only a bit more sympathy, he was still going to be doing a full clean up of her ranch, all twenty acres of it, and he would probably be deep cleaning their home as well. The redhead woman was about to say one more thing before an actual officer came through the door this time.

"If you want you may see your children before you pay their bail." The officer announced to them.

"Oh? Well I would definitely like to see my son, if he isn't properly remorseful then he can just stay in that cell for a while longer." Violet declared as she shoved her things into her bag before standing up before making to follow the officer through the door. She paused for a moment looking back at the other two. "Would you like to yell at your son in private for a moment or yelling at them together?" She offered for a moment with a small smirk pulling at her lips.

Meanwhile in the cell Dante, who had scooted away from Keegans little accident on the floor felt a shudder go down his spine. It felt like something horrible was about to happen and there was just no escape for him. The auburn haired teen offered up a small prayer to whatever legendary Pokemon might be listening. 'Please let me escape whatever it is that is coming my way.' If he did get out of this Dante was going to go to the furthest place he could to escape his oncoming doom. "It isn't to late to kill ourselves somehow Keegan." Dante muttered a somewhat hysterical giggle escaping him as he heard his mom's voice echo through the hallway.

~~~~~~~~~
Not really wanting to put her Pokemon away Robin scooped Zuko up, the little bug wasn't exactly fast, and he was still a baby, before grinning down at Ace. "Let's go see what Ampersand had in mind for us to do, he said something about a Pokemon sled? That sounds pretty fun." Bouncing on the balls of her feet she started to make her way over to where the older man, who looked to be napping again, was waiting for her. The bubbly redhead only got a few feet before she heard a nervous voice all out to her.
"H-hey! Your a-a-a Pokemon trainer ri-right?"
"Hmm?" Robin was curious as she looked around her, she was being addressed right? She was sure she had just heard someone talking to her... As she looked around though she didn't see anyone.
"Over-over here!"
There it was again! Robin was sure she was hearing someone talk to her. Frowning the redhead turned around to see if someone was sneaking up on her but no one was there! Huffing she pouted slightly as she turned around again. "Whoever is talking to me come out here right now! It isn't nice to pull pranks!"
"I am not hiding though..."
This time the voice was much closer to her and Robin almost jumped out of her skin as she screamed slightly turning to face the mysterious voice. This time she did see who was talking to her! "Where did you come from!" She accused pointing a finger at him her bright blue eyes flashing in irritation.
" I have been standing here the whole time." The man said sheepishly.
" Why didn't I see you then?" She accused not really believing him.
" Well... I have been told I am kind of plain?"
"Hmm..." Robin tapped her chin with her free hand as she studied the man in front of her. Well, he was right, standing in front of her was the most plain and forgettable person she had ever seen. He was average in every single way. If Robin turned around she was sure she would forget all about him and would never be able to point him out from anything ever. "Ok, so Mr. Plain. What is it you want?"
"Mr. Plain? My name is John. John Quincy Public..." The now named John offered a depressed look on his oh so ordinary and plain face.
Frowning at him Robin was starting to get a little unnerved by just how regular this guy was. "Ok, you still didn't answer my question." She pulled Zuko closer to her and eyed him, maybe he was trying to use his boring and forgettable appearance to steal her Pokemon! It would be the perfect crime, Robin would never be able to find or recognize him even if he stood right in front of her after doing it!
"I just wanted a Pokemon battle. Actually I have been trying to get your attention since you left the Pokemon Center." Mr. Public looked depressed at that.
"Oh, a Pokemon battle huh?" The redhead grinned as she cupped her chin in a confident manor. "As a fellow trainer I am not allowed to refuse any request for a battle! Very well! I accept your challenge! Whoever you are!"
"It's Jon. Jon Quincy Public..."
The next several moments were made up of the Summers' discussing their son's punishment, though by the end of it, Todd had reasoned that it was likely that being arrested and spending the night in the drunk tank had probably done the boy some good. Well, hopefully it had done him some good, though it wasn't like he hadn't had run-ins with the police before, especially when he and Mike had palled around and gotten into all sorts of trouble back in Lavaridge.
The couple rose from their seats as another officer came into the room, informing the irritated parents of the chance to speak with their sons. They were all in agreement about something, at least, and they followed the officer through the door and down the hall. "I think this should be a family moment, I'm sure you understand," Maggie said in her usual kind tone in response to Violet's good-natured query.
Back in the cell, luck, however how brief, was on Keegan's side as he managed to drift off into a hazy sort of half-sleep, and for a fleeting few moments he was free of shame and embarrassment. Fleeting it was, as no sooner had he nearly convinced himself that this was some horrible, awful dream, Dante's muttering startled him back to reality; the other teen's high-pitched giggles were like needles through his brain. His stomach was feeling better now, however. "I'd happily kill you right now," he mumbled, raising his head off the concrete to glare at Dante, "but I left all my ambition in my other jail cell." He closed his eyes again and put his head back down on the floor, now able to hear the sound of voices and footsteps in the distance. In a meager attempt to retain at least a shred of dignity, the redhead pulled himself up enough to half-crawl and half-drag himself to the corner where he propped himself up into a semi-sitting, semi-hunched position. Now, he could clearly hear several voices, two of which were very familiar. Keegan felt his stomach bottom out. This was it; this was the end. While he was almost certain his father was probably going to shoot him on sight and without uttering a word, at that, he could already imagine the disappointed look on his mother's face and somehow that made him feel that much worse.
Though it was expected, the officer rapping his club on the cell bars made the redhead jump yet again. "All right you two, time to go," the officer grunted impatiently. "Your parents are here."
"Don't we at least get some sort of trial?" Keegan mumbled, decidedly incapable of turning off his sarcasm mode even when situation clearly did not call for it.
"Oh, Keegan," Maggie sighed, frowning at both the mess on the floor and the messes that were her son and son's apparent 'friend'. "What on earth were you boys thinking?"
Keegan was certain he'd regret looking at his parents, but he did it anyway, and upon doing so was met with a gut-wrenching guilt, even though his mother seemed more concerned than anything else at this point. As usual, he couldn't read his father's expression, but he considered that a small win seeing as he wasn't sensing any anger from his old man. He felt another jab in his gut as he remembered that he hadn't exactly left things off on a good note with his parents the other day, either. He tried to come up with something to say in his defense; an explanation, an excuse, a terrible joke at his own expense - anything, really - but nothing came to him. All he managed to do was shrug helplessly and shake his head before he buried his face behind his hands. His parents could be angry and disappointed in him all they wanted, but they had nothing on the level of self-reproach he was feeling at this very moment.
Even the clunking of the cell door opening did little to lift his spirits, and though he did consider asking if he could just stay in here forever, common sense finally scored a point for him as he decided to remain silent for once and instead he slowly got to his feet and somehow managed to get around the colourful pool of vomit on the floor. Had he been more in his right mind and full strength, there would have been a good chance that the officer that took hold of his arm (probably to prevent him from trying to run, as if he was even capable of that right now) might have lost it, or at least been met with a punch or some other attempted violence as an act of defiance, but right now Keegan was just too despondent to put up any sort of resistance. He glanced back at Dante, managing to force a small smirk at the other boy. "Good luck," he said, mostly for posterity's sake, before he and his parents were lead away to some sort of briefing or interrogation room.
Robin was soon joined by Luffy who had decided this was more interesting then the sleeping Ampersand. "Hey there, you ready for a battle buddy?" Robin grinned confidently at him as the Ambipom used her as a climbing toy before perching on her shoulder. "So do you know any good battle spots around here?" She asked the completely forgettable guy she was going to battle, Robin was glad she had spotted him again after looking away at Luffy. "Oh wait." The redhead fiddled around in some of her stuff before recalling Ace and Zuko, she gave the fire monkey a wink though trying her best to let him know he was definitely going to be having a part in her upcoming battle. Robin remembered Tony Tony saying something about not letting your opponents know what you were about to use as a strategy. Sure he knew three of her pokemon but if he didn't know what order she was going to use them in then she was good!
"Well, there are battlefields scattered across the town. I think the Pokemon Center one might be the closest though." John offered.
"Ok then, Pokemon Center one it is then!" The hyper redhead cheered, and started to head off that way before she froze. "I totally forgot about Ampersand there!" Hastily scribbling a small note on a post-it note she had in her bag she handed the scrap of paper to Luffy. "Can you stick this on his head or something?" A huge grin threatened to split apart the monkeys face as he grabbed the note and dashed off to the lazy mans side and using his tails to stand up he slapped the note right on Ampersands face. Chuckling at her Pokemon's antics Robin waited as he ran back to her and took a running leap to land on her shoulder again. "Ooffff.... Luffy, your getting a bit to big to be on my shoulder buddy." Robin muttered rubbing it where he had landed. "Right, where are we going again..."
"The Pokemon Center battle ground." A helpful, if totally unremarkable voice chimed in.
"Ah!" Robin screamed in bloody terror as she looked around wildly for the voice that had just spoken to her.
"Ah, I am right here. You promised to battle me remember?"
This time Robin spotted him giving him the stink eye as she followed him to the battlefield outside the Pokemon Center. Robin wasn't going to lose him this time, she repeated the mantra in her head determined not to get scared or forget again.
Violet graciously stepped aside and let the Summers pick up their own wayward son. She wondered briefly if she should request asking for a private room like they did but after a second of thought she figured it would be better to punish her son behind bars. The usually smartly dressed woman, at the moment she was more of the somewhat disheveled smartly dressed woman, headed into the small towns holding cell visitors area. Her boots making clicking sounds with every step she took Violet stopped in front of the only occupied cell and stared at the misery that seemed to be engulfing one corner of the cell.
"Dante, I take it you reached a decision." She spoke after a moment. The older woman watched the teen seem to deflate after a moment before uncurling gangly teenage limbs. Violet gave her son a gentle smile as the auburn haired boy gave her an annoyed hung over look. " Well, before you give me an answer I must say I am surprised." Dante gave her an annoyed grunt at that his facial expression the perfect mixture of teenage disrespect and someone who had spent the night making horrible decisions. Chuckling Violet figured she was going to receive a lot of answers like that this morning. "Oh nothing honey, I just am surprised you were that upset about Apollo."
"I am not heartless." Came the muttered reply and an annoyed look.
"Of course not darling." Violet replied as she eyed the weary teen before continuing on. "I know you aren't heartless, I just did not expect you to act the way you did. Well, in a way yes and in a way no I suppose."
There was silence in the room as the two of them eyed each other wearily, this wasn't like their normal meetings. Violet supposed she was partially to blame for that but sometimes it was a good thing to give her son a good shake.
"Why wouldn't I be upset." Came Dante's slow response, his mother watched him put his head in his hands for a moment before leaning his chin on his propped up palm. "Apollo was my first Pokemon, well, first Pokemon that I raised." He was probably referring to that accidental catch of the Kangaskhan. "He was the first Pokemon that I raised anyway. For a Pokemon like Apollo an injury like that could kill him. Of course I was upset."
"Oh baby, I am not mad at you for being upset don't think that. I am just... disappointed that you ran away." Violet did her best to comfort. She was still mad at her son for this whole three days worth of actions but that didn't mean she didn't see why he was acting the way he was.
"Of course you aren't." Her son spat out a surge of anger seeming to course through him. Violet watched as he seemed to tense up for a moment his narrow shoulders seeming to stiffen. Not saying a word she watched him sit there for a moment before he sighed his whole body slumping again as he let it go. "Of course you aren't." He muttered again before turning tired black eyes up to her. "I just wish I had more control over my life is all."
At his words Violet paused, this was heading into somewhat dangerous territory here. She had always tried to steer her son away from any measure of control he might have over his somewhat hectic life. A need for control was always a big thing with his father, that need that only seemed to grow as years went on. In truth she was glad for the horrible luck he seemed to posses, it ripped any measure of control he might have gained with their nomadic lifestyle growing up away from him. Nights like this and his Pokemon getting hurt as badly as Apollo was now while sad, were always reassuring to Violet. The one thing she wanted was for him to not end up like his father, he could do anything in the world, be a stripper/whore who married his pimp and she would be happy as long as he didn't end up like him. Doing her best not to let him sense her nervousness the redhead did her best to stamp down on her nervous ticks before slowly answering. "Dante my love, the amount of power it would take to control your own life is to much for anyone person to handle."
