How you discovered asexuality: I was a young teen, found the term while browsing the internet, found AVEN, and was all set! It is kinda awesome to know from an early age that your not alone.
How you discovered this guild: I think I might've been in it a while ago. But I searched up for it again and rejoined.

How you discovered asexuality: I was on someone's MySpace and it said their orientation was asexual. I looked it up and was like, "...huh. Interesting." Took a few more years until I figured out that I'm asexual

Now tell us a joke: This dumb joke (from A Streetcar Named Desire) is my absolute favorite: so there's this old lady with a little swearin' parrot. Every morning, she takes the little cover on his cage off, and every night she places it back on. One morning, she notices that a priest is comin' up her walkway. She doesn't want her parrot to cuss infront of the holy man, so she quickly covers his cage before letting in the priest. They talk over tea, and everything seems to be going nicely when all of a sudden, the parrot gives a low whistle and squawks
"GODDAM, but that was a short day!"

How you discovered asexuality: Learned the term from a Article in the Toronto Star back in 06 and joined AVEN the same day. I'd always just used the term pansexual because it seemed to be the only one that worked for me in general, but in reality asexual works much better.

Hello~ My name is Eden and I'm 23. I knew there was something "different" about me my whole life but it wasn't until last year that I finally discovered what it was. I had to go through many ordeals to figure out I was asexual and now I am happy that I made this discovery about myself! I've been tossed and turned and teased on my journey to this self-discovery. I've had my hormones checked (I'm perfectly healthy and hormones are fine) and I am still asexual. The only thing I'm questioning is if I am aromantic or bi-romantic. Is it possible to be both or more of one than the other?
On one hand, I highly prefer friendship and crave that most of all. I've never really had friends before so I'm always eager to have friendship and experience it. I CAN fall in love but it's something I'd rather avoid. I guess I'm capable of falling in love but I prefer platonic relationships. Not sure if that makes any sense...

How you discovered asexuality: I googled "asexuality in humans" on a whim and found the wiki article, which linked to AVEN and it was an emotional moment, realizing I found the term that described me perfectly, and that I wasn't alone.
How you discovered this guild: I looked up "asexuality" in the search box, not expecting to find anything- but! There were a few results, and one of the threads linked to this guild.

Oh, and I'm a college student.
I've not had a lick of interest in sex for, well, as long as I can remember. I'm 21, and apparently my friends have found it strange. Sometime in High school, I think, I first learned of the word "asexual" and applied it to myself -- and at the time, I also referred to myself as "aromantic", as I held no interest in a relationship either.
I am, however, currently in a happy relationship with my girlfriend (a non-asexual). I continue to have little interest in having sex, but this hasn't really caused any disruptions in our relationship.
And now, for a joke.
There were some backwoods cowboys living across the river from each other, who feuded constantly. John hated Clarence with a passion and never passed up a chance to throw rocks across the river at Clarence. This went on for years until one day the Corps of Engineers came to build a bridge across that river. John was elated; he told his wife that finally he was going to get the chance to cross over and whip Clarence. He left the house and returned in a matter of minutes. His wife asked what was wrong, didn't he intend to go over the bridge and whip Clarence? He replied that he never had really seen Clarence up close and didn't realize his size until he started over the bridge and saw the sign: "CLEARANCE 8 FT 3 IN"

How you discovered asexuality: Simply through browsing the internet one day, or something of the like. I always knew I had no interest in sex, nor did I feel anything sexual toward others, and since I didn't wonder too much (I seemed to simply accept that these differences happen), I didn't really give it a name until the last couple of years, when I randomly came across it.
How you discovered this guild: After I joined AVEN a bit ago, I thought that maybe there'd be something on Gaia, so I searched and wah-lah.
Now tell us a joke: Well, I don't know many. There's a gay joke I know, but be aware that it's not to offend and that I support that arena: A man walks into a gay bar and sits down. The man beside him gets up and politely asks, "May I help you push in your stool?"
