There was the sound of a violin playing, and then a full orchestra. "Ah, that'll be him," said Roez.

A man of, apparently, thirty or so, wearing jeans and a somewhat overlarge shirt, appeared in front of Kiwi, out of nowhere. "Hello there, missing this?" he said, grinning and presenting her Strawberry, who had a collar attached with her name on a tag with it. "He gets out sometimes, you know, I thought you might like it if people knew whose he was. Hmm?"
The orchestra accented his every action and word, as though it were simply there as accompaniment. Well, it was, but that's irrelevant.

Kiwi was frozen, eyes blank. The music... outlining... her vision warped... still, Kiwi reached forward and wrapped her hands around Strawberry's upper body, underneath his forearms and clung to him, though she didn't remove him from the dean's hands.
Maybe if she just held on... the feeling would go away...
Hopefully she wouldn't go back to Shade.
"Thanks. So much." Her voice was flat and empty, like a vast desert lacking any form of life but the sound, the singular tone... Do not understand what you mean in the (()) there, Xin-xin. o.0?

((I used the "gradient text" thing and that's a LONG paragraph; thus there would be a LOT of text there if you try to quote it. And, the Dean (this guy appearing) is an NPC.)) "Nothing to worry about, miss Kiwi," he said. The orchestra shifted to a song, as if being played on loud stereo speakers live. Particularly, the song was "Forgotten" by Linkin Park (the original version, not the remix). The song reinforced Kiwi's presence in the present realm, acting like a summoning song to keep her out of Shade much more easily."I love this song," said Roez, intentionally in the background. He played a few chords on his guitar to accompany it at some parts, and made sure to pay attention to it so he could replay some of it later.((Lyrics are here. I think the song is appropriate to the character.))

Ah, it was just the DO NOT QUOTE bit that confused me. smile And very good song... you mean the song fits the Dean? o.0 Or your character or mine...? Kiwi blinked and shook her head, a smile sincerely blossoming across her face now. "Thank you very very much!" she said, voice dry, like the before described desert, but now filled with and abundance of life, colors racing across the sky and sands in the multiple forms of life. Her head bobbed slowly to the sound-she liked this; and now she pulled Strawberry from the dean's hands and nestled him against herself, nuzzling the top of his head as he licked her chin. "Sorry..." she murmured to him quietly, almost softly but still too sandy-scratchy to be considered such. "I won't go away again... I'll try... I promise." Though he couldn't speak to her... Kiwi could get the feeling... he needed her, too.

"It's no trouble," he said. Once the song had finished he said, "I think I have another appointment. See you later, hm?"
He left and the music cut off (the song had already finished and the orchestra had been back since just before he started speaking), but the effect of the song would remain for awhile.
Roez smiled slightly. "I love that dragon," he said, wondering if she would get curious why he kept calling the dean that.

Kiwi cocked her head and watched him leave. "Not very scaly," she said, being weird-ish. "BYE!" she added loudly after the dean, voice normal again. smile Thought so...

"Oh, you were thinking of the usual mythological view of a dragon?" he said. "He doesn't use his true form unless there's some huge trouble, I've only seen it once and most of the new teachers here never have. A dragon's basically a being capable of most forms of magic; the dean, as you can probably tell, is capable of generating music out of his head with thin air. Essentially, he has no need for instruments and can have the sound and power of a full-sized band by himself."

"Wow!" Kiwi whistles, crossing her legs and placing her hands on her knees, hovering a little higher to be eye-level with Roez. "Wish I could do that... what happened to allow you to see him?" It couldn't have been long ago, since the teacher didn't look too old to Kiwi... Strawberry yapped excitedly, almost worried, finding his balance in her lap which had no floor beneath to help support him... he settled for hooking his front paws over her shins and allow her to give him a seat using her arms.

Head cocked again, Kiwi smiled and didn't seem to know what the word 'infuriating' could possibly mean. " No? Is Kiwi not trustworthy?" Kiwi asked, voice high.... her voice got high when she got nervous or shy, not as an abnormal affect other than the fact it was REALLY high but rather it was an almost human habit...

"Oh," Kiwi whispered, voice coming down a couple of octaves. Almost as if he had ceased to exist Kiwi looked away from Roez and focused on Strawberry, petting him softly from the back of his head down his tail. Secret, she mouthed to him, though the pup couldn't really see her face, and she placed a finger to her lips, then in front of his muzzle to indicate the secretiveness in the air. ^^ Odd... much... today... "In any case, you think that song he used, 'Forgotten', would work as a summoning song for you for a few years or so? Just, whenever you get trapped in Shade and someone else notices, they can play a part of it and you'll hear it there. You can either accepted and be taken here, or reject it and stay there if you want."

Kiwi laughed, eyes focused on him now. "Reject...? That would be... insane..." she giggled. "Forgotten, that was? Yes... I liked that... that would work well... Thank you, Teacher..."
She continued to giggle at the idea of rejecting a summon... why would she... choose to be...

"Quit talking, Iona," said Karen. "If I keep responding to you everyone's gonna think I'm insane."
"It's a lot easier when people believe you're not-- Oop!!"
Karen had run into someone while looking at Iona and walking somewhat quickly, and therefore fell over on her butt. "Ugh, I'm so sorry about that," she said to the girl with her ears one straight up vertical and the other down horizontal.
((She's supposed to have run into Aki (to reinvolve Thyme in this RP).))
