"No," she said, shaking her head. "It's okay...Well...he was supposed to meet me at the party-a few hours earlier before you came....but..." she trailed off shaking her head.

Melody sighed, "He just...decided that it was over between us...He did phone my cell to let me know...but only a few minutes before my friend came to cheer me up."

"She sounds like a good friend," he said. He thought for a moment that going out with her and having danced with her would have been too soon after a breakup. He decided it probably didn't matter, since she seemed to be having a good time right now. At least she seemed happy now. That's what counted.

"Well, I have two friends that I hang out with. We aren't close or anything," he said. "Honestly I don't stand out much. I've always been ignored." He paused for a moment and remembered he had just met someone earlier. "I did meet a guy earlier today named...hmmm. I think his name was Konton."

Dar's smile was very big at that moment. He turned a little red and pointed his head down for a moment before looking back at her. This was all he wanted, not to be ignored and he was getting more than that. A small "Thank you" came from his lips.

In Dar's mind he was starting to freak out as she was leaning in to kiss him on the cheek. He just sat there very still. Hid body was quite tense.

"F...for what?" he asked nervously, even though he thought he knew. His body loosened up a little bit. 'Could it be she likes me?' he thought to himself. A small smile came accross his face.
Then the waitress came by with their orders.
