He could stand to wait around for another soul in this terrain, couldn't he? Hachi had figured out quickly it was best to wait for them to come - souls didn't like staying still, it seemed, and there really was too much fauna for Hachi to be able to comfortably search. The whole place was so full of movement that circumstances were constantly changing, anyway.

So he turned his ears toward strange noises and made sure to sniff intermittently: a worthy soul had lived an interesting life, right? Well, perhaps they'd just gotten lost in the woods, too...

What could Hachi say?
He always came back here. It was peaceful, and the white sand was so lovely against the water's teal. A soul found him immediately, and he smiled - it was almost like he was a guardian for the place.

To be fair there was still a wide expanse of territory that Hachi hadn't managed to cover yet. He twisted to head somewhere more unfamiliar, just perhaps to stretch his neck as he searched.

Oh, no! He hadn't meant to scare it with his approach! "Come back, friend," Hachi told it. He didn't plan on hurting it!
He saw it briefly again, before it winked away. Was it leading him somewhere? How helpful - he could hardly see it.

Blinking briefly, Hachi collected himself and decided to swoop in the direction he'd last seen it move toward. There was no way to lose in this situation, right?
