 Matt Alfen Matt continued to look at the marble, unsure of what it could do or why Kat had been protecting this instead of her charm. He sensed someone heading towards him, so he prepared himself to speak to them. When the girl spoke to him, he looked at her and tilted his head, 'Ah, it's her.' He thought to himself and smiled gently. "A-Ah.. this..? U-Umm.. Well I'm not really too sure actually.. All I really know is that it radiates with magic.." He replied shyly with an unsure look on his face as he looked at the marble again. If one could compare to how he was speaking and acting before the girl showed up and and how he was acting and how easily he did it, one would think of the boy as terrifying. "A-Ah, Hello.. I'm Matthew, and you are?" He asked her shyly, as if suddenly remembering that they hadn't introduced each other yet.

 "Eh ? So you're carrying something you know nothing about ?" Her arms dropped to her side as she focused on the marble with her head still tilted to the side. "I've never anything like it before. Where did you get it from ?" Jynx then shrugged and lost interest in it. "Jynx." She replied, not really caring who the boy was. Jynx then looked over at him, he seemed to be around her age. Maybe this kid wouldn't be much help to her as she thought before approaching him. She sighed once again before taking a seat next to Matthew. Her feet hurt and decided she was worth a little break.

Matt Alfen "Pretty much." Matt replied with a wry smile as he continued to look at the marble, at her question about where got it, he simply told a complete lie. "A friend gave it to me a long time ago.. It was the last thing they gave me." He said with a sad smile as he closed his hand around the marble and carefully put it away in his bag that was at his side. He smiled lightly at her greeting, "It's nice to meet you, Jynx. Is there something wrong?" He replied with a curious look as he watched her sit down beside him on the bench. It seemed that she was trying to find something and had been wandering around for a while, not that he cared though.

Jynx nodded when he said where he received the weird marble. "Sorry to hear, I guess." She said, not wanting to hear more. Her ears perked up when he asked if something was wrong. "No, not really. I'm just having some trouble figuring out where certain things are in Janhall, like my house." Jynx sighed and lowered her head. "I'll be fine.. I'll find it eventually." She rubbed the side of her face. Once the girl felt well rested, she would continue on her way and leave the boy to do whatever it was he was doing before she arrived. "I'll start searching for it again soon. It's not like it grew legs and ran away." She joked.

Matt Alfen It was obvious that she bought the false story he made. Though, she seemed to perk up a bit when he had asked her what was wrong before telling him. "Is that so..?" He replied with a light tilt of his his head. It was really such a silly reason to be depressed and he wanted to point it out, but he kept it to himself as he got his bag and opened it. "Hmm.. I'm not sure if this will help, but if you know your address, this may help." He said as he pulled out a map of Janhall and gave it to her. "Feel free to keep it, I've already memorized it." He said with a kind smile as he looked at her.

"Like I said, I'll be fine." She said and raised her head again. She looked over at Matthew as he began rummaging through his bag. Jynx was curious on what he would pull out until he handed her a map. She opened it up and began rotating it in different directions and raised an eyebrow in confusion. Jynx wasn't really good at reading maps, but it wouldn't be hard to understand once she studied it long enough. "Oh, thank you." She closed the thing and held it. Finally, some answers, and it would come in handy for finding everything else as well. The girl didn't notice he was looking at her since she was now looking down at her feet as they dangled a bit. Silence grew over her as she was just resting. She didn't have much to say nor did she really wish to continue conversing, but she also didn't want to move just yet. Thus she just sat there, in silence, waiting to see if Matt would say anything else. Not that she cared or anything like that.

Matt Alfen "No problem." Matt replied wioth a kind smile as he watched her study it by turning it in all sorts of way. It was at that point the girl became silent, he had also become silent as well as they sat on the bench. He leaned back against the bench and looked to the sky in thought. After a few minutes of silence between the two of them, Matt suddenly stood up. "Sorry, it's time for me to go since I have some things to do." He said to her with a light smile and a nod before turning away as well as picking up his bag, he started to walk. Once he was sure his face wasn't towards her, he had scowl on his face, as he did not really enjoy dealing with people using his false facade of his, sure he could pull it off quite flawlessly, but it didn't mean he enjoyed it. He let his face return to a more neutral one as he walked.

Jynx looked at him as he stood up and spoke to her. "Oh, uh, alright then.." Jynx sat there for awhile as he began walking away. She was deciding if she'd ask to tag along, but then again it wasn't her business on what the kid was doing. Eeehh.. Just stay here and focus on what you were trying to do before you met him. Who cares what he's doing ? She thought as she pulled out the map he gave her. "But I also don't feel like learning how to read this yet.." She muttered and let out a little sigh as she stared at the paper before her. Jynx looked back over to Matthew, seeing if it was too late to ask, but decided against it once again. The witch huffed and folded it again before tucking it away. "Hey ! Matt !" She called out before running to catch up with him. "Can I tag along ?" She asked with a slight smile. Jynx had a feeling he would refuse, but there was a small possibility he'd say yes. Probably not, but she figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Matt Alfen Matt could only let out a quiet sigh the moment he had heard the girl calling his name and heard the sound of footsteps. He took a deep breath, preparing himself to use his facade. When she caught up, he looked at her with a curious confusion when she asked to tag along. "Well.. I don't mind, but I'm not really doing anything interesting that would be worth following me." He replied shyly as he scratched the back of his head a bit. "I was just going to do some grocery shopping and maybe get some books to read." He explained with a light smile as he looked forward again as he continued to walk. He had started to hum a bit with a light smile on his face, but internally, he was trying to think of an excuse to just get away from her and just be left alone.

Jynx walked a bit behind him, kinda shocked he's allowing her to follow. She didn't mind if it wasn't anything interesting, it was something to do. Maybe she'd find something she'd like. "That's no problem. Thanks I guess." She referred to allowing her to follow. The girl was now walking beside him, a nice little distance apart. "So.." Jynx tried to create some kind of conversation between them, walking in silence was just awkward. "Nevermind." She rubbed the back of her head. Matt did mention getting books to read and asked as she looked over at him, "What kind of books do you like to read ?" It was a start.

Matt Alfen Matt nodded a bit as he closed his eyes as he walked. If one listened closely, they would notice that despite him casually walking, his steps never made a sound, not even the the necklace with the metal chain a mysterious looking jewel on it made a sound. He opened his eyes as he looked at Jynx curiously when she started to speak, only hear nothing else afterwards. It was after another moment when she asked what kinds of books he liked to read. "What kind? Hmm... I would have to say history, fantasy, chemestry, mathematics, programming, technological hardware, weapons, martial arts, and biology I guess. Those are the kinds of books I usually read." He replied honestly with a light smile as he spoke about some rather unfitting books for his looks. "What about yourself?" He asked her curiously while looking at her.

The little witch never noticed, or really paid attention, that Matt never made a sound. Jynx listened and nodded when he began naming the kind of books he enjoyed. It was a nice list, kinda lengthy, too. "I guess you really enjoy reading, heh." She commented with a light smile and she looked ahead again. "Hm.. Well I guess just the usual. Anything related to the history of magic, tomes, fantasy, and some horrors." She answered him as she put her arms behind her head. "Nothing impressive." She shrugged as the two continued on their way. "It's something to pass the time, so I can't complain." She sighed and lowered her arms.

Matt Alfen Matt gave a wry smile at her comment, "Well, it became more of an acquired taste in my case, but yes I do enjoy reading." He replied with a nod. He became silent as she explained what kinds of books she liked to read. "You also have a good list." He stated with a light nod. Inwardly though, he was still trying to figure a way to get rid of her, there were many ways to do so, but he was unsure which method to use. "Well, reading is a good way to pass the time." He agreed as he put his hands in his pockets as he continued to walk, his eyes looking forward. The witch wouldn't notice it, but the boy slowly making his presence thinner as they walked and since it wasn't a magical spell and just a natural ability from his training, it was something could easily do. He didn't do this rapidly, but in a slow and careful pace so that she wouldn't notice.

Jynx understood and nodded her head as he spoke. "You think so ? Thanks I guess." Jynx thought it was pretty nice with Matt. He wasn't annoying, he seemed rather quiet and nice. While looking straight ahead, she noticed they were nearing the city. She grew a little nervous and lightly held on to Matt's shirt sleeve. Jynx's cheeks were a light shade of pink, she felt embarrassed that she was so scared of the city streets. She felt like a child hanging on to her parent as they walked, but she wasn't letting go of his sleeve any time soon. Her little grip on it was tight as if she was hanging on for dear life. The little witch didn't bother to look over at Matt. She just held on to him and continued to stare straight ahead, not even bothering to speak a single word.

Matt Alfen Matt couldn't help but to noticeably frown when he saw that she had grabbed the sleeve of his shirt. He quickly turned his face back to his shy demeanor and stopped walking. "U-Umm.. Jynx.. i-is there something wrong, you're grabbing my sleeve rather tightly." He asked her curiously as he looked at the girl, and even he could tell that she didn't feel that great, but for him that really didn't matter as he just wanted to leave the area. So, to get away quicker, he had decided to try to figure out her problem and possibly slip away after that. He watched the girl, letting slight worry appear on his face as he looked at her. "I mean.. t-that is if you want to tell me.." He added after a moment of silence as he looked at her.
