After a few moments looking at the screen and not seeing anyone that looked like Mark, Zevi lost interest in the machine entirely. Going back around the desk to stand near Rex, wearing a confused smile on her face, she knew he was being playful, but hadn't the slightest idea of what a mechanic, a TV, or a mower was, so really didn't know what to make of what he had said. "Good, cause she told me to smack ya if you broke your leg again." Zevi let out a short laugh and refrained from giving him a playful smack since she knew that she had nearly broken both of their limbs earlier. "Auh, yea...if you've been here your whole life and still haven't gotten it figured it out, I think that means I'm probably hopeless. Think I'll stick to things I need to know, and can figure out, worry about things like this thing here if I ever need to use one." she said in response to Richard, motioning to the computer and hoping she didn't have to use one any time soon. If the explanation gave her a headache, she assumed figuring out how to work it would be even worse.

Rex stuck his tongue out at her, grinning. "Well, I guess that depends on who's faster. Maybe I won't let ya smack me." He reached up and grabbed one of her horns gently, rocking her head a bit. "But I guess I could try not to."Richard watched their antics over his shades before replying to her. "I do the same really, and I was raised here. After all, why bother learning stuff I won't use more than once?"Rex raised an eyebrow at his friend. "Oh, I don't know. Maybe to better yourself?""Bah. I can drive a car, fire a gun, heat up leftovers and play computer games. What more to life is there?"Rex refrained from further replies. He should have known better than to assume Richard might ever actually want to get smarter.

"You ain't gonna be able to get away if your leg is broken!" Zevi whipped her tail around, giving Rex a smack on the back of his head, a sort of wake-up call for and a bit of retaliation for touching her horns. "Auh, don't do that. I don't mind you touching my head, but don't grab my horns, please." she said, pulling her head away. She'd never liked it when others grabbed her horns and it didn't help that, being the smallest troll in her tribe, the others had thought it funny to drag her around by her horns, a couple times while roughhousing they had flipped her over and stuck her horns into the snow so that she wouldn't be able to get them back immediately afterwards. "Either way, I'll be happy as long can figure out enough to make myself useful." Zevi shrugged and smiled, she hoped she'd be able to pick up what she needed to learn here as quickly here as she had picked up on what she had been able to out with the tribes. "But I'm not too worried about that!"

Rex admitted to himself that this was probably true, but focused more on her irritation at her horns being handled. He stored that little morsel of information in the back of his mind for use at a later date. He took her tail-bat with a grain of salt (as well as a chortle) and nodded in understanding. Richard nodded to Zevi. "That's all you really can do. Rex'll take care of ya, show ya the ropes."Rex nodded. "Yeah, just leave it to me."Rummaging could be heard in the back room, followed by a triumphant cry from a familiar voice. "Oooh, now THESE are quality limbs! We should contract Magnum to help make the base, then use our waterproofing methods to...oh, I can't even think about how juicy that deal would be! Girls, help me carry these out."A few moments later, Mark popped out of the room and strode down the hallway with his ladies. The girls presented the limbs to Rex and Zevi respectively. "Thanks for being patient Rexxie, Ms. Z. These should be a lot safer for water use now." He shrugged and grinned simultaneously. "Though I wouldn't go submerging them, they'll certainly hold up better to rain and snow. You'd think Magi would consider these things, ugh!"Rex raised an eyebrow and took the gunleg back from the girl in front of him. He played with the workings a bit, but only the things he knew he could mess with without destroying the work Mark had done. Anything that was water sensitive was coated with a clear coat material. Even the gunpowder chamber was waterproofed. That would be handy.

"That's why I ain't worried" she glanced over at Rex and flashed him a quick smile "he's done a pretty good job so far."When Mark yelled out, Zevi couldn't help but cringe. She had managed to forget that they had been waiting on his return in the first place, it hadn't been too hard since she had very little desire to deal with him again. "Does he ever just...talk, or is he just constantly yelling?" she said rubbing behind one of her ears as they twitched irritably along with her tail. Quickly trying to brace herself for whatever she'd have to grit her teeth through this time though, when he started talking and didn't immediately begin to annoy her, she hoped that maybe he would be tolerable for the remaining time they were there, which hopefully wouldn't be long. Zevi eyed the arm for a second before taking it back. Rather than waste time trying to look for anything when she didn't even know where to begin, or what she should be looking for, she went about trying to detach one arm and re-attach the other without having to ask for help. "hmph, even though I think you need to get some manners beat into you, whatever you did to make these waterproof is useful..." she paused a moment when she found what she was looking for. Wrapping her tail around the aquatic-arm, she passed it off to the girl that had returned her arm so that it wouldn't fall and break. Once it was free, she used her tail once again to help reattach her arm and was rather pleased with herself for having successfully managed to figured it out on her own. Now that she no longer had to focus on her shoulder, Zevi continued what she had been saying "Unless you plan to cut your tongue out, and probably your eyes too, you probably shouldn't go to the hot-springs." she left out the details of what would happen if he did go. If he asked she'd tell, though she hoped he didn't, if not she figured he'd probably find out on his own at some point. It wasn't an apology, but it was about as close to one as he would get out of her. It was a little disappointing to know that he'd be aware of the danger of going there before arriving, if he went at all. She had hoped to ask Rex if he could find out when Mark left and when he came back so she could see if it had even been worth sending him up there in the first place. course, if Lira doesn't find anything and he did go, I'll have possibly gotten him killed, or very nearly so. He'd have done something nice for us without asking anything in return, and I guess him being annoying isn't really something I should be trying to get him killed over.... with that thought train, she'd managed to think her way into feeling bad for trying to send him there and frustrate herself, with herself for being so petty in the first place.

Rex had no time to respond to Zevi really. He felt his energy begin to drain as soon as Mark's voice became clear. He looked to the human with a misleading smile, all while thinking how badly he wanted to throttle Mark. The human's volume was definitely a high percentage of his annoyance factor. Rex tilted his ears away a bit as he removed the swim leg and attached the gun once more. As everything clicked into place, Rex noted it actually felt a bit smoother to move if not mildly heavier. His muscles were already adjusting to the weight though as he walked around on it. Mark clapped his hands together and winked at Zevi. "Oh-ho-ho, such a pistol! You picked a fine one Rexxie." He grinned wide and shook his finger at her. "Oh, I know something as simple as that, dear. Do you really think I'd go into untraveled territory without doing some research? They say to know your enemies, and my alliances shift oh so frequently. I have satellites in space watching every tribe." Rex rolled his eyes. The show-off side of Mark was one he didn't appreciate. "Can we cut the chitchat Mark? I'm cold and wet."Mark paused, thinking. After a moment he chose to derail his prideful chatter and nodded, seeing the two of them still rather wet. "Right then, time to clean up!"Mark punched a button at his level on the wall. A chamber formed as walls shot down from the ceiling, surrounding Rex and Zevi, separating them by a thin, opaque membrane. Before Rex had a chance to panic, UV light scanned the pair of them to disinfect them. A hole in the top of the chamber opened, blasting them with air for a brief moment. Once they were dry, the air stopped. Zevi's clothing dropped from the hole, cleaned and folded for her. Rex's shirt and tie returned to him as well, but his pants had been blown dry already. Rex spoke exasperatedly to Zevi through the membrane as he began dressing. "These are makeshift changing rooms, I think. Just dress quick and we can get the hell out of here."

"Can't blame me for hoping..." she muttered while Mark had been busy talking himself up, rubbing her temple with her middle finger. Mark's flaunting of his 'gray area' status went unheard as Zevi chose to block him out before her mouth got the better of her. Zevi heard the machine working above them and looked up towards the source of the noise just in time to see the walls fall down around her and Rex. "What th-" when the light flicked on, she cut off her speech and lifted her hand up to block the unexpected light from her eyes. The light in her face and air blowing down on her didn't bother her quite as much as the fact that she felt caged, her lack of trust for mark, and Rex's obvious annoyance with the short man didn't help calm her any. Once the machine had run through it's job and her clothes dropped drown causing her to jump slightly having not expected them to do so, she stood there silent, holding her breath for a moment before exhaling and letting her breath blow her hair out of her face. Zevi hoped that Rex talking meant the machine was done with whatever it was doing. "I don't like it." she stated flatly. picking the clothes up from where they had fallen, she wasted no time getting dressed, not sure if the walls would be lifted without warning as suddenly as they had been called down. "If I ever consider coming back here, hit me, hard." she said, pulling her finger through her hair, wincing as she felt them being forced through the knots that had been worsened and newly created by the blast of air that had dried them off.

Rex nodded in response to Zevi, buttoning his shirt up and pushing his hair back. He made a mental note to refrain from placing stock in Mark’s home life division – this cleaning machine wasn’t worth a damn thing for all the knots it put in his hair. He put his tie back on, tightened it, and patted himself down briefly. He didn’t feel any bugs, but it was unlikely that Mark would make any of his trackers big enough to be felt. If he really wanted to be debugged, he’d need to go find an EMP machine to blow any circuitry hiding in the folds of his clothes. Rex swore in frustration and knocked on the powdered glass, eyeing up the obscured figures on the other side. ”Goddamn it, Mark. Let us out,” he snarled darkly. ”We’ve had enough of the games today.”When the walls finally lifted, Rex was ready to give Mark a reaming. He kept his temper in check long enough to note that Mark was already gone and chuffed irritably, kicking at the ground. "Figures he'd run away without a proper chance for me to kick his skull in."The two girls remained from earlier, holding the waterproofed limbs. One of them approached, holding a wrapped leg-shaped package. "Master Markie asked me to give you this. He had to leave to take care of some business, you understand."Rex raised an eyebrow and took it from the girl with a mumbled thanks. He pulled off the note taped to the package and read it: For those moments when you aren't killing things. If that ever happens, I'm sure your little gal will appreciate a real leg to rub! Thanks for the fun, Rexxie. ~ M Rex rolled his eyes and shoved the note into his pocket before hefting the gift leg over his shoulder. He looked to Zevi, darker circles than usual under his eyes. "Ready to leave? I'm tired of this place."

Zevi managed to not jump when the walls began lifting around her. Eager to get out of that spot she ducked down and moved forward, rather than wait for them to disappear completely into the ceiling. "Oh but you can hit him~" she teased lightly, shaking her head as she doubted that Rex would attack the short human after having given her multiple reasons as to why she shouldn't. Zevi tilted her head at what had been handed to Rex. It wasn't the package that drew her interest, she could guess what was in it from the shape, but the note she did wonder about, though she dropped her curiosity quickly enough when Rex spoke to her. "I'm all for that, before the short-s**t decides to come back." She agreed, refraining from mentioning that he looked like he was much more than just tired. Whether it was due to actually being exhausted, irritated, or a combination of both, Zevi wasn't sure. "Wherever we're going next, I can give the Taxi another shot..." She offered, waiting for Rex to move before she followed. Zevi suggested the taxi more for his sake than her want to try another taxi ride. In fact, Zevi would prefer to walk over taking the taxi, though she figured that, as bumpy a ride as it may be, it would provide him more of a chance to rest up than walking would.

Rex simply felt more drained by the second. He grunted and pointed in the general direction of the elevator, then shuffled over to it. Once they were both inside, Rex leaned against the glass and slid down it into a sitting position. He closed his eyes and tilted his hot head against the cool glass. "Well...that was more crazy than I was ready for today. I could almost go to sleep…" He sighed heavily. "…but funnily enough, I don’t trust Mark for a second." He looked to Zevi, a half-smirk on his lips. "So right now, there’s one place we have to go, and it's right around the corner."He looked out the window of the elevator and pointed to a building not far off. The roof was covered in metal spikes, which appeared to be drawing lightning from the sky, creating brilliant flashes with each lightning strike. "See that place that looks like it’s brewin’ a thunderstorm? That’s Seven Strikes Night Club. It’s the only place I can think of that can get rid of any bugs we couldn’t find on our clothes or limbs."He wasn’t kidding. While the club was like many others in some ways – dancing, music, back-room drugs, lots of neon – it was unique in one very different way. The newest attraction introduced at Seven Strikes was a large static electricity chamber. Women in protective but form-fitting suits would dance in them. Rex figured if he paid one of the dancers enough, she might drop their clothes and limbs in there for a round or two. Nothin' like dancing with your hair standing on end, he thought with a chuckle. What’s the appeal, anyway?

Zevi opted to stay standing, letting her elbow rest against the glass and pressing her face into the palm of her hand "Just think about how I feel, most of today has been...normal for you." she moved her head for a second to wave her hand around when she said 'normal', to show that she wasn't sure about how close to normal it was for him as well as that she herself didn't feel any sense of normalcy today. She couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief when informed she wouldn't have to get back into a taxi quite so soon, although the appearance of the nightclub did unnerve her almost enough to make her wish she did. ""wuh- we won't get hit, will we?" she asked looking from the club, to Rex and back in the pause. Zevi knew it was unlikely to be struck by lightning, she did couldn't help but worry that their chances would increase with the amount of strikes going off at the roof of the building, and though she knew very little about how things in the city worked, she was smart enough to know it was the metal drawing lightning to it, and they had metal attached to them. "You city-dwellers really love your bright lights...." she said as an afterthought, almost every thing in the city had lit up some way with seemingly every colour and shade. From where she stood now, the lights didn't bother her, but she was sure once she got closer the brightness and the flashing would wear on her eyes quickly.

"You'd be surprised how close that is to normal for some city folk, but for me that's never easy. I'd rather spend a week in a jail than a day with non-stop Mark," Rex admitted, rubbing his face with both hands. He'd do it in a heartbeat, too. Prison wasn't intimidating to Rex anymore. It just meant less time to do business and more time to plan business. Now, public execution...that was a real zinger. He put his brain back on topic. "Anyway, no. 'Nightclub' is a fancy way of saying a place to dance and lose yourself. Nobody clubs anyone, unless a fight breaks out. But there's security there, so we should be alright as long as we don't start anything." He looked at the tower again. "Yeah, I guess you could say we got tired of being afraid of the dark, for all the good light does..."As the elevator finished its descent, Rex pushed himself to his feet. He waited for the door to open, then headed for the front doors with the leg under his arm. Richard was standing there, grinning. "I have a bad pun in mind, but I'm sure it'd be lost on ya Rex."Rex snarled, glaring at Richard out of the corner of his eye. "Ah shaddup, orc." He waved Richard off, realizing he'd been a bit short with the guard. "Sorry. See you around."The fresh air, minus Mark, was rewarding in its own right. Rex inhaled deeply, then prepared himself for the walk. He'd take care to guide Zevi around frost troll territory.

Zevi's ear twitched slightly "Is jail like exile." it was said quietly, not really a question she meant for Rex to have to answer while he seemed so tired, just something for her to wonder about. I probably wouldn't mind a fight right about now... she grinned to herself for a moment, not immediately responding to Rex's words. She wouldn't go looking for a fight, but she definitely wouldn't hesitate to throw a punch or two in return if someone else started one with her. Zevi huffed out a laugh "I was talking about the lightning. I might not know about the city or city-things, but I can well enough see it's attracted to the metal on the roof there and we have metal attached to us." she corrected, speaking fast enough that her frost troll accent showed more than it had in past conversation. Following a couple paces behind Rex, she paused only to say a farewell to Richard "Goodbye and good luck." she said, the wish for luck having to do with him having to deal with Mark. Once outside Zevi reached up interlacing her fingers above her head and behind her horns, standing on her tip-toes she arched her back and moved her hands down until she could rest the back of her head in the palm of her hands. The stretch caused a couple cracks to sound from her back, and a feel-good sigh from the short blue troll. Satisfied, she let her hands fall back down by her sides and shook a bit to make the leftover feeling leave. Zevi enjoyed the feeling of the rain falling down hitting against her skin before running down and being absorbed by cloth, or dripping off the tip of her nose, chin, fingers, or tail. However, she didn't enjoy the 'fresh' city air quite so much as Rex did, the rain had made stink of the city compared to the clean air up north more apparent. She didn't complain, or let it show though. It was something neither of them had any control over and she knew it, like many other things, to be something she would get desensitized to in time. "After this, y'think we can go......wherever 'home' is?" she said looking back at Rex. She figured they were both tired enough and that today had been full of enough excitement for the rest of the day.

Rex didn't hear her first question. He was in his own world for a moment, considering how to best navigate the city. As long as it was raining, there was less likely to be trouble. Crooks around here hated inclement weather. His thoughts drifted to Hemani. That b***h of a troll...he'd have to deal with her sooner rather than later. Not a moment too soon, Zevi's longer string of words brought him back to reality. "The lightning is basically a dangerous light source for that section of town. It won't hurt us though - we're too little to get struck by it with those huge towers collecting it all."Richard gave Zevi a nod and a wink that was barely visible behind his sunglasses. He then went back to watching the monitors, as a good guard would do. He hoped to see them again - work was dull, and that had been fun. Rex beckoned for Zevi to follow once she was outside. The rain was tickling his scalp. He wanted desperately to shake the water from his hair, but knew it would do little good for the moment. He walked with Zevi and spoke to her as well. "Yeah, we can go back to the bunker after this. I could use some rest anyway. Hangin' with Mark takes it out of a guy, y'know?" he chuckled, rolling his eyes. "Hell, I've had more energy after a full on brawl..."

"Maybe I'm too small to be struck, buuuut I dunno about you..." she said teasingly taking a few larger than usual steps to bring herself to his side before adjusting her pace so that it matched his. "I don't think anyone could stay energetic when he's around." She looked up and yawned a wide, open mouthed yawn letting the rain fall into her mouth before looking back down and nodding in agreement "I don't know how those other two females deal with his s**t all day long." she admitted with a grimacing glance back in the direction of the building. Her ears tilted downward the closer they got to Seven Strikes Nightclub, though the city was loud, the nightclub was equally as loud and possibly more so. Zevi couldn't help but become nervous about going at all, slowing her pace ever so slightly she hoped to get a bit more time before their arrival build up her confidence about going in. She knew they needed to, even she with her limited knowledge of how bugs worked, didn't like the idea of possibly having them on her, but she also found it hard to simply walk up to something that she knew to be dangerous if unlucky enough to be struck.
