Trace sidestepped Stephen, swatting the sword aimed at his head down. He swung his other sword down, aimed at Stephen's left elbow. "Come on, Stephen. You can do better than that."

Only being able to see what was happening, not hear, Anaiis gasped in fear and shock as a shadow creature entered Stephen's body, changing his appearance dramatically. Why she was suddenly so worried over this boy she had no idea, but still somehow, the thought of either of them hurt made Anaiis' heart ache. A reminder of her childhood flashed through her mind. "YOU TWO BE CAREFUL!!!" she yelled.

"There is no Stephen here." he said, laughing maniacally as it turned and threw one of his swords at Trace and attempted to grab his wrist and pull him closer while he slashed his legs with his other sword, all of this done at a speed that was more than any normal human could move.

I can't watch this, thought Anaiis to herself, as she covered her face with her hair, making bangs, and covering her eyes with her hands. Still, she peeked a look every now and then.

Melanie felt over the scalpel in her stocking while reconsidering the morphine. It wouldn't matter if slowed her reflexes; these guys were already too fast! Are these guys even human?!

Trace knocked the thrown sword away, and moved his arm out of the way, grabbing the thing's arm between his elbow and his torso. He pushed down hard, making it miss his leg with the other sword, as he fell backwards, holding the creature as they both disappeared into the sand.

Trace fell back into his own world, followed quickly by Stephen and this demon creature, who had been separated in the falling. He quickly put his sword at the demon's neck, ready to kill it easily at any moment. He looked at Stephen. "Is this yours?" he asked, looking at the demon spitefully.

Stephen slowly rose to his feet and looked at his hands as if making sure they were normal again. His appearence had chenged back to how it normally was after the Nightmare separated from his body. He looked at Trace. "Yes. I wouldn't bother with the sword though. You can't get rid of it like that."
The creature simply stayed still, looking back at Trace. It opened its mouth slightly as if it intended to eat him but then closed it again.

"In my world, demons die just as easily as humans," Trace said, keeping the sword level with the thing's neck. "But if you can keep that damn thing under control, I wouldn't mind going back. I just came here to separate you two, I thought that it was taking over. My bad," he said, shrugging.

"Well, I'll admit it was getting a bit overboard but I was gonna stop it, of course." he beckoned to the Nightmare and the creature slowly made its way to him, standing right over Stephen's shadow, its underside melting with it. "Oh and by the way, this is no demon. See ya, Trace." he smiled and then he and the Nightmare melted with the shadows and vanished.
Stephen reappeared on the swordfighting classroom; the Nightmare had melted with his shadow and remained out of sight. Stephen ignored the looks of everyone and walked to the bleaches, he stuffed his swords inside his coat and sat beside Anaiis. "Well, that's that. I guess."

"How is it that everyone has suddenly gained the power to enter and leave my world at will?" Trace asked irritatedly as he walked through the floor, reappearing on the other side. He dropped his swords, and they dissolved as they fell, the shadows returning to their original places.

As she saw the boys go down and back through the dimensional rift, Melanie began to have a headache again, like when she had casted the spell in the Forum. Some images she had seen were coming back to her, including some she hadn't seen before. Her Catholic school, her dorm at Aurora High, the cemetery, a grocery store, until she saw pictures of some figure talking to a much taller and sinister man. But soon the visions stopped and she was brought back to reality. D--m Dark Foresight... I wonder, just where had those two guys come back from...?

Trace walked over to where everyone was sitting, and he sat down a good distance from most of them. He mumbled to himself, "I really need to figure out why everyone can do that without my help..."

Melanie saw the guy from the Death dorms again, and even though her better judgement said to drop it, some spark of malice told her to say it anyway.

"So!" she said in Trace's direction, calmly taking out a scalpel from her satchel and pretending to polish the stainless steel. "I guess you never found that girlfriend of yours..."
PostPosted: Tue Mar 23, 2010 8:23 pm

"Alexx?" Trace asked, looking at her. "Alexx isn't my girlfriend." He knew the tone in her voice, the slightest changes, the tiniest hint of hostility. She was trying to instigate something. She missed my real fighting days by a good half a year, Trace thought bitterly, almost laughing at the irony.

"Oh, well that's pleasant news!" Melanie said with a smile masked on her face. "Love is just an illusion we tell ourselves each morning to get through the day, anyway. Besides, you look like the kind of guy who wouldn't want to associate himself with hypocrites..."
