Oh my, I feel like such a noob. So many here train like crazy and have black belts and even teach martial arts. Cool.
I've been practising giyomonkai -karate-jutsu for about 2 years now (yellow belt atm). I'm quite short and light (I look like a 15-year-old, I'm 158cm/5'1" tall and I weight 50 kilos/110 lb) so sometimes I'm having problems sparring with the members of our club (I train in the adults group where most of the members are 10 years older and 20 kilos heavier) and such. Many say that martial arts aren't suitable for me but I really enjoy practising even though I get my a** kicked all the time. I'm interested in martial arts overall, about their history and such.

Hey everyone,
I'm new, as this post will tell ya. I live in Florida, and I've been taking martial arts for about a year and a half now. I started out taking jujitsu for about six months, but ended up leaving that dojo because I didn't care for how the instructor treated me, and other students.
However, I'm now training in Choi Kwang Do and I just reached my Senior White belt. I'm an avid MMA fan and enjoy the Japanime.

Um, well I'm 12 and I have recently I have tested for the last degree on my recommended-to-be-black-belt in Tae Kwon Do. I'll get the stripe next week and then on May 15th I'll test for my Black Belt Don one, which is the first degree of black belt. And after that I'll begin to learn Kourio: the first Black Belt sequence of moves. I've been at it since I think..... kindergarden. So that would be 7 years.

Hello I'm 17, and I was invited to the guild.
I have been doing Taekwondo for over 10 years, currently I am a second degree black belt (testing for 3rd this year) I compete nationally, and plan to get to team trials, in September (aka win at nationals) Lets see what else? I currently teach classes, and help run the school. That is about it...

I'm 17 and i got a random invite. I don't have much martial arts training myself. I've had three lessons of taekwondo. That makes me somewhat useless at it. In particular i would like to learn Judo and Muay Thai. Would much like to learn a large variety of martial arts... i could make a list of them... but obviously i dont have the time or money...
I do have experience in parkour though, which is much like martial arts in a philosophical sense and the way of training. I have been doing this for about two years, made up of light-ish training, so i wouldn't be as good physically to someone who had the time. (still in school if you haven't figured), though i've done lots of reading. Yes, i may be sounding like i think i know more than i do, but i feel i do know a great deal about parkour. That being said, i can help with creativity, flow of movement and various methods of conditioning using natural elements and the human body.

Welcome ... and I wouldn't call it a random invite ... I saw your Bodyweight conditioning or unconventional methods thread in the Sports forum ... and thought that some of the things in the Health and Fitness subforum section of our guild might be a benefit to you ... I did not however know you practice parkour ... please post a parkour topic in the Martial Arts styles subforum ... of course this is just a request ... hehehe sweatdrop

Well, Thank you for inviting me smile
I'm 22 years old and have been practising aikido for about 1 1/2 year now. I'm 5th kyu and hope to be able to go for the 4th this june. I only train once a week because I'm usually too bussy with school, and going to the dojo costs money. sad
The thing I enjoy most about aikido is ukemi. I love being tossed around so much a few yudansha have called me a masochist. sweatdrop
