Karasi blinked, a little surprised by his words and his tone. She half expected him to saying something about how she was irresponsible or something. She was taken aback by the way he called her a ‘sleepy head’. “Nice to see you too.” She returned with a morning smile. “Let’s get something to eat and then start training.”

Karasi nodded, and headed down to were a group of children and their mothers were gathered around a fire, passing pork and other small berries around.
She quickly took note that all the men were not present, and sat down.

Aru_Soki "where are the men" he asked "Don't say such things out loud." she whispered to him, and then said in a softer tone, "There's probably been a raid. The men have gone into the woods to defend the tribe."

"We should sneak out of here and check on the men. This is an older tribe, but most of the men are very young. They aren't battle hardened yet, and might run in an attack. But first, we need to pretend we haven't noticed. Eat a little bit of the meat and then we'll leave."

"Think of it as a warm up: like you're just stretching and getting your muscles ready." she sighed, and when a little girl in tough leather came up to them with slices of pork, she accepted them with a smile and bit into the pink meat.

"When will you be leaving, Lady Karasi?" One of the mother's said very formally.
"My pupil and I shall be leaving you shortly. We thank you for allowing poor traveler's like us into your home and your table."
At here words, the mother's eyes became a little fearful.
"So soon?" another mother asked, and there was a hint of fear in her tone, "But you only just got here."
"And we must leave soon. We are on a long journey."
The fear in the air tingled with electricity, and now they were trying to hide the fear in their faces.
