You got almost everyone that still ever comes here from the GD and although it's a much crappier place now there should still be some diamonds in the rough to be found.

We can't do HOTs anymore, haven't been able to for years, so what's left?
Mindless recruiting? trolling about the various forums and such until we find someone we want to hang out with, then inviting them, hoping vainly that they'll want to fill our halls with sound again?

I was picturing PSAs without the hangout factor but it's probably impractical.
Maybe take the model to a different website?
Or we could tolerate the chatterbox and just act unfettered in there.

Not really. I've been bumming around this one that's for a dating site because it's full of new-age spiritual people that aren't playing with a full deck and the bay12games forum because I got into dwarf fortress so the first one's an obvious no but I don't know what the silly parts of the second one are into. The game's got an obvious fantasy setting so maybe.
Maybe we could use one of those other dead guilds we've got access to to do the horrible recruit everyone thing and then pluck people out of that pool.
We could say it was some station where the monsters are all handing in paper work and such, maybe to get access to the walking around in disguises thing.

I don't feel like we need to do a whole bunch of crazy nonsense. My general suggestion would be to just move to another forum which does not have a lot of frills and craziness and things.
I might have one that I'd be inclined to move to, but the danger and realities of stagnation are still very there, howver there are a lot fewer just straight dumb people there.
