As Chloe and Kaze faced the many grunts on deck, it certainly didn't take a rocket scientist (or a Rocket scientist either) to figure out that they were sorely outnumbered.
"Well, what can you do?" Chloe murmured bravely to her partner. Kaze shrugged with a smirk, clearly agreeing. There wasn't much of a choice in the matter on their part. Kaze kicked up two rods of steel with a foot, kicking them towards Chloe, who picked them up. Although she had less weapon knowledge than a kindergartner, it looked like she was about to get a crash course.

In the waves below, another battle continued, as the Delibird reached for yet another one of its dreaded "gifts" for Daimon. This one exploded in short order as well, leaving the small Horsea panting for breath (or water, in its case, since the whole gill thing... if you want to be technical), and clearly weakened, it didn't look like Dai could take much more, but he still wasn't giving up. He fired off another Bubblebeam at the Delibird, trying his best to keep one step ahead of the icy bird.

"No! Dai!" Chloe called, seeing another explosion rock the waves below the boat, wincing as she tried to turn her focus back to the Pokemon battle, however, the grunts would have none of that.
Chloe barely had enough time to throw Cáel's Pokeball out before her attention was once again turned to the charging grunts. The Dragonite emerged, as Chloe managed to shout out, "You're on your own! Keep Dai back and give him some help! Hurry!"

Cáel nodded, before diving deftly beneath the waves, as adept beneath the waters as he was in the sky. The dragon wove through the waters, releasing a controlled Thunderbolt at the Delibird, careful not to let the electrical energy strike at Daimon, who certainly wouldn't have survived the blast.

The Delibird retorted with another package, aiming at Cáel now, wanting a bit of revenge. The thrown bundle exploded, as did all the others before it, as Cáel shook off the blow, glaring at the bird.

Deciding to end it quick, Cáel used Dragon Rush, darting forward with surprising speed, slamming into the Delibird, knocking it out.

On deck, Chloe had little time to celebrate the victory, or even be aware of its existence. There was still so much to do, and she was a bit occupied at the moment.
She soon came to bless whatever stroke of chance it was that caused her to be crossed with a Persian.
It certainly was helping her reflexes.
A grunt charged at her, leaping out, knife at the ready, and Chloe barely had enough time to register the movement before her arms were moving on their own, bringing her pitiful shards of the crane (which Kaze had thoroughly enjoyed wrecking by the looks of it) before her in a cross.

The Dragonite finally emerged from the waves, after giving Daimon a quick word of support, and faced off against his new foe. Lv. 43 Hp 370 Dark Pulse- 65 Hypnosis- Opponent is put to sleep Dream Eater 70 Works only if opponent is asleep Shadow Ball- 65 Cael charged forward in another Dragon Rush, dashing against the ghost type with startling force as the two grappled mid-air. {{-90 from Gastly, 280/370 left}} The Gastly released a wave of hypnotizing forces, trying to lull Cael to sleep. It was successful, as the Dragonite fell helplessly into the waves below, sound asleep. The Gastly cackled in triumph.

The grunt facing off against Chloe executed a double-thrust wide, bringing his other hand around, revealing another knife, stabbing past the axis of Chloe's makeshift rods.
Chloe reacted purely on the instinct given to her by the Persian DNA, throwing her hands out wide to their respective sides, the called-for defense, each of her pieces of steel taking one of the grunt's blades.
Advantage taken, Chloe went for the greater stance offered by her curved pieces of metal. A more conventional fighter would have reversed the hrust back at his opponent, but Chloe wasn't a fighter at all, so she turned the steel over the neo's blades, using the curve of the steel to draw the knives in tighter, so that the neo couldn't lash out with the blades.
Kaze took over from this point, knocking the grunt back with his tail, and sending him sprawling over the railing, screeching as he fell into the waves below. The Charizard snickered, exhaling as he released a gout of flame that licked along many of the grunts, sending them running purposefully towards the railing to dive over in order to put out the flames.

The Dragonite below the waves wasn't able to rouse itself in time for a counterattack against the Gastly. Daimon zipped alongside the drifting Cael, trying to wake the Dragonite, to no avail. His cries were unanswered as he cast a frantic glance behind him, seeing the Gastly easily float through the waters, using its ghost-like abilities to simply phase through the liquid as if it wasn't even there.
Daimon blanched, renewing his efforts to rouse Cael, knowing full well what was in store for the both of them if he couldn't.
"Come on!" he pleaded in his own tongue, frantic and near tears, despite his best efforts. "Cael! Wake up!" he cried again, trying to rouse the Dragonite, "He'll attack if you don't!"
The Gastly's eerie cackle, sounding strange underwater, alerted him that he was out of time as he winced, seeing the Gastly summon a Dream Eater to regain the health lost by Cael's earlier attack. The Dragonite writhed in his sleep, the pain of the nightmares coming through quite clear to the frantic Horsea who was watching helplessly.

The Gastly sent another Dream Eater Cael's way, not letting up. Daimon at this point was near hysteria, still trying to awaken his new friend, but unable to do anything to help.

Up on deck Chloe and Kaze were still facing off against the grunts that surrounded them. Kaze had managed to light a few more on fire, and Chloe was doing a mediocre job in deflecting their attacks, but it was clear Chloe was tiring. And there didn't seem to be an end to the supply of grunts charging the two. Kaze eventually took up position in front of Chloe again, defending his trainer as the grunts circled about.
Cael, finally rousing from his sleep, was more than furious. Honor was a big thing with the Dragonite, one reason why he continued to fight alongside Chloe. If nothing else, the girl had quite the sense of honor about her. But distasteful tactics like the Gastly was using was not high on his list of nice things at all.
The Dragonite glared, pausing but a moment, before charging through the waves, slamming into the Gastly with another Dragon Rush.

The Gastly retorted with a Shadow Ball, hurling an orb of dark energy at the Dragonite, who dashed forward through his pain, slamming into the Gastly with another Dragon Rush. The waters beneath the boat churned dangerously, as Daimon looked helplessly on, knowing that he wasn't able to get involved, no matter how much he still wanted to, despite his weakness. {{-130 Cael, -175 Gastly, 260/530 Cael, 105/370 Gastly}} The two continued to fight it out, as the Gastly released another Shadow Ball, Cael resorting to another Dragon Rush. Both were tiring, but neither were giving up until the other was finished. As the Mask of Ice stubbornly called out his next Pokemon, the match turned topside, as Cael flew to the deck, as the Houndour emerged from his Pokeball, growling low at the dragon. Cael took a moment to rest, Roosting as he recovered some of his stamina for the fight ahead.

The Houndour used Crunch, snarling as he snapped at the Dragonite. Cael used an Aqua Tail to dislodge the canine, sending it scrambling to recover its footing on the shifting deck.

"I want a little revenge," Kaze smirked, glaring at the Mask of Ice, "I'm trusting you to keep her safe while I kick a little butt." "...You're so vulgar..." Cael sniffed, to which Kaze only laughed. But the Dragonite nodded taking Kaze's position in front of Chloe as the Charizard stood to face off against the Ariados. Kaze (m) Personality- Impish Lv 97 HP- 760 Dragon Claw- 60 Shadow Claw- 50 Fly- 55 1- fly up, 2-attack Flare Blitz- 100 Exp- (41/50) It didn't take him long to release a Flare Blitz, the bug retorting with a Psychic. As the Mask of Ice resorted to his stronger Pokemon, sending out his Lapras next, the two swapped places again, Cael taking up the offensive as Kaze dealt with the defensive, sending grunts scattering.
Cael sent a Thunderbolt at the transport Pokemon without a moment to lose, as the Lapras shot an Ice Beam at the Dragon.

Cael was about to push onward, but a light from Chloe's belt revealed Krad, who had let himself out in order to join the fray. The Espeon glanced for a moment to Chloe, seemingly reluctant to give his support, but his stubbornness won out, not about to let Chloe's debt to him so long ago go unpaid. He had pledged his help to the trainer, as much as he disliked it, and he would stand by his word.

Krad, considering his part over, left the field, returning to his Pokeball, as he tapped Mikami's in his place, using a tag-team approach. Lv. 50 Hp 410 Earthquake- 80 Doesn't work on flying Ice Fang- 60 Double Hit- 40 Take Down- 80 1/4 recoil ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mikami (m) Personality- Bold Lv. 63 Hp- 520 Toxic- Always poisons Crunch- 60 Hyper Beam- 120, leaves used immobile next turn Dig- 40 1- dig a hole, 2-attack Exp (1/42) The Trapinch took one good look around, thoroughly confused, before it hit him. Chloe was in trouble! That was all he needed to know, as he darted towards the Mamoswine, releasing a Toxic at the pig-like mammoth. Chloe couldn't help but grin, recalling Cael, Midna, and Mikami, before searching quickly in the water below to recall Daimon as well. Before the Mask of Ice could react, she hopped on Kaze's back, and the two took off, leaving the grunts behind, as Chloe sighed in relief.
"That was a bit too close for comfort..." she muttered, shaking her head as she and the Charizard rose a bit higher to avoid any counterattacks the Neos might come up with.
"I'm not trying that one again anytime soon...," Chloe murmured, as Kaze chuckled. If nothing else, the Charizard had gotten some enjoyment from the whole affair, plus, he had gotten the chance to bust up the crane holding Lugia's net, so perhaps it hadn't been such a loss.
"That's right, Lugia!" Chloe realized, scanning the waters below. "Whatever happened to it?"
