Byakko [***Byakko's Tour of Kutou***]
Byakko once again, shook his head sadly at being dismissed so easily, he could see that the seishi was so set in his ways and yet he couldn't stand the thought of all that would transgress if he continued, what a waste it would be... He pursed his lips however and after a few moments of regaining his composure he sent one last thought towards Nakago, a simple warning.
'Ayuru - To abuse your fellow seishi is one thing,' He was obviously referring to Ashitaire in this instance, 'But to abuse your miko is another, she is weak already and without love and care she may not live to complete all three of her wishes.' He paused for a few moments to allow this to sink in before continuing with another warning and one that perhaps would be somewhat more unweclome.
'And do not attempt to concoct an illusion from what you have witnessed today, for that is going beyond the boundaries... You are right Ayuru, we will meet again but perhaps not on the same grounds.' He finished and then turned to Tomo with a warm smile.
"Lead the way." ::Tomo nodded, his mind in a flurry of mixed thoughts.:: Is Nakago-sama in his right mind refuting Byakko Seikun like that?
I did not know that deities could read minds!
I have to lead Byakko out? The last time I played host like this, that woman came back and made all this trouble!
Wow, the Seikun's human form is quite handsome.... like something from a play; so unreal, yet, here he is...: biggrin espite any misgivings Tomo had about being once more reduced to chore-boy/escort, he was still ever humbled in the presence of greatness. He stepped quietly from the hall down the hallway leading toward the palace's main entrance. He walked with his eyes straight foward, but his mind drifted backward, and he pondered over what words had been spoken between Tatara and himself. Were there truely such great differences between them as seishi? Was there really something he was missing, something he did not understand? Would not the Seiryuu Seishi's ends justify the means? He contemplated as he walked, slowing his pace so as to walk beside the great Avatar instead of in front. He thought perhaps it would be giving Byakko some level of respect, but it was also a habit of sorts; he had never been able to afford to place a lot of trust in others. That what living Kutou had taught him; watch your back, and the ends will justify the means.:: So does this Tatara disagree? But that is what life is like in this country!

Seikun (Korin-Chan) Byakko once again, shook his head sadly at being dismissed so easily, he could see that the seishi was so set in his ways and yet he couldn't stand the thought of all that would transgress if he continued, what a waste it would be...
"Lead the way." Sieshi (Korin-Chan) "How are you feeling?" Tokaki enquired as he took a seat on one of the outcrops. They had been sitting in the same spot for a long time as Tatara attempted to regain his strengths. In truth, had it not been for the intervention of Byakko he wouldn't have had the strength to keep up appearances.
His limbs ached, his head pounded but how was he? He didn't know...Too many things, both physicall and mentally had occured and he could no longer put how he felt into words, his head was in turmoil and in combination with the pain of exhaustion, he really was not in the mood.
"I have felt better," He replied at last, resting his back against a tree trunk with a grim smile. Tokaki simply smirked at this and shook his head, turning his gaze towards the city of Kutou in the distance.
"Interesting place," He mused at last and grinned, "Pretty ladies but uh...a little too much violence for my tastes."
"Hmm.." Tatara responded.
"So who was the girl with the braids?"
"That was Subaru...another of the Byakko seven," Tatara explained with a chuckle.
"Ah, so - where to?"
"Well...when I can walk again I would suggest that we return to Sairou to recuperate..."
"Good idea!" Tomo (Kitty Little) ::Tomo nodded, his mind in a flurry of mixed thoughts.:: Is Nakago-sama in his right mind refuting Byakko Seikun like that?
::Outwardly, Nakago was refuting Byakko, despising Byakko, contesting Byakko...But inside...even the mighty shogun, was fleeing. Of all the power and unexpected events...the Shrine of Seiryuu would be a sanctuary. Nakgo doubted than any of the other dieties would make their prescence known directly in one of the other temples. And thus he had swept past, having exhausted his won abilities in contesting, fleeing to the temple, while still holding his proud guise. Having Tomo lead Byakko would accomplish two things, First, not leaving the task to Nakago, as he would not have held up to do so, especially how the diety had "attacked" him, and second, it would pull Tomo away from the shrine, and he would be less likely to see him in uch a state. Even though he knew Tomo knew more than anoy of the others...more than any other living being perhaps, it was still an issue of pride.::
::The shrine doors remained open until Byakko's last words to him had been spoken, and then with a thundering sound, they closed, and as they did, Nakago faltered and fell to his knees in front of the great statue to Seiryuu. A few of the words stayed with him...::'But to abuse your miko is another, she is weak already and without love and care she may not live to complete all three of her wishes.' ::This was something that he could not refute, outside of his own emotional struggle. Kutou needed her for it's salvation...and so too did he need her...without her...all this was for nothing...and this weighed heavily on his proud shoulders::
::A dark shroud seemed to envelope him as his mind, body, emotions, and very soul fought within::

Kitty Little ::Tomo nodded, his mind in a flurry of mixed thoughts.:: Is Nakago-sama in his right mind refuting Byakko Seikun like that?
I did not know that deities could read minds!
I have to lead Byakko out? The last time I played host like this, that woman came back and made all this trouble!

Byakko was a peculiar creature, instead of searching the minds of those around him or interfering with anymore of their troubled thoughts, he simply took the oppertunity to observe the decor as he was led to the exit of the palace. He was simply fascinated by the beauty of the gardens and the decor - it was impressive to no end.
Nevertheless, the peculiar smile never left his lips as he walked after the seishi. It was only when Tomo slowed to walk beside him that he glanced briefly towards him and then returned to observing his surroundings. This was perhaps one of the first times he had stepped into 'modern' Kutou and he was enjoying himself immensely...despite the encounter he had had a few moments ago.
"I must thank you for leading me to the exit," He said at last in a calm voice although his eyes were elsewhere - as usual. When he reached the exit to the palace he would wander out to the gates of Kutou before taking the opportunity to leave, this would prevent him from gaining too much attention from the locals and he would be free to go, he was sure those of Kutou were used to unusual things, particularly when it came to strange people walking around with constellations marked on a part of their body...Miaka-San Miaka smiled at Nuriko, it was good everyone was catched up now. She laughed at Tamahome cringing at Nuriko and then watching Nuriko flip out over Hotohori and she then remembered her previous time alone with Nuriko.
"Ah...Nuriko...Tamahome, shouldn't we go try to find more seishi? I mean...and maybe a inn with...umm food?" she said rubbing behind her head laughing loudly. Her stomach was empty and she wanted food.
She then smiled innocently hoping one of them knew a place to eat and would help her get there, "Ah! Rice would be good! Or jello! Ahh...prime rib! Or even root beer floats!" she said while she was dancing. "Yeeee!" The loud shriek sounded from above as the streak of white light collided with the ground before the trio. It lingered briefly before fading to reveal Subaru, her expression one of grim pain as she stumbled to her feet and rubbed at her backside with a look of slight discontent.
"Ow," She muttered and quickly touched her hair to ensure that everything was still in place, "That really hurt," She seemed to be conversing with herself but after a few moments she glanced round at the trio and pursed her lips. After a long pause a smile developed upon them and she offered a wave.
"Well hello there!" She chirped merrily.Tatara & Tokaki - Continued "How are you feeling?" Tokaki enquired as he took a seat on one of the outcrops. They had been sitting in the same spot for a long time as Tatara attempted to regain his strengths. In truth, had it not been for the intervention of Byakko he wouldn't have had the strength to keep up appearances.

"Ah, so - where to?"
"Well...when I can walk again I would suggest that we return to Sairou to recuperate..."
"Good idea!" "You know, I think I have an easier way to get home," Tokaki confessed after observing Tatara's struggles. The plant seishi was in no condition to walk for any distance let alone the whole way to Sairou...
"And what would that be?" Tatara enquired heavily as he clasped the rock beside him and attempted to hold his balance against it, only to slip once more and topple to his knees. Evidently the journey hadn't been kind to him - then again being tied up and then strung up wasn't exactly comfortable for anyone.
"Teleportation, the same way I got to Kutou when I was following you," Tokaki replied and grabbed one of his arms, swinging it over his neck and hauling Tatara to his feet. "You were right, name's Tokaki." Tokaki confessed once more and released a grunt of effort, Tatara certainly was heavy for one so lithe.
"Well," Tatara snorted slightly as the long locks of hair fell over his eyes, free from their usual confinements of a thread behind his back, "I suppose that would be a more appropriate method of travel," He muttered, moistening his lips briefly as he leant against his new found support.
"To the shrine it is then!" Tokaki murmured and closed his eyes - teleporting two people instead of one was certainly a challenge for him, but after a few moments both did vanish and appear in another place further ahead from their previous post.
"Oh yeah..." He added as he vanished again and appeared in yet another spot, "Was that really Byakko or just a white tiger with some nice magic around it?" He enquired curiously.
"I have no idea," Tatara replied coolly, although he had to admit - that in the presence of the creature he had found a hidden strength, that now seemed to evade him with its absense, "It might have been Subaru's sorcerery," He added and winced as they teleported again - his senses seemed incapable of keeping up with the constant change of scenary and he was becoming disorientated.
"Where is Subby anyway...?"
"Do I look like the all seeing eye?" Tatara snapped back, keeping his eyes shut to avoid the throbbing pain in his head after each teleport.
"Just figured you would know..." Tokaki responded innocently.
"Well I don't," Tatara snarled as the journey continued...

His mind wandered from Tatara to Byakko himself, and that strange smile he wore. He contemplated what kind of thoughts were masked by such a smile, but he too quickly reached the exit. Tomo lead the way down the stairs, and bowed so as to indicate that this was as far as he would go.::

He contemplated what kind of thoughts were masked by such a smile, but he too quickly reached the exit. Tomo lead the way down the stairs, and bowed so as to indicate that this was as far as he would go.:: "Do be careful," Byakko murmured gently as he returned the bow with one of his own before he began to make his way through the exit. The symbol on his forehead flickering briefly before fading to mask his presence to those around him. Now it would only remain to be seen that he wore foreign clothes as opposed to being something else.
The smile returned to his lips however after he had spoken and he bowed his head against the crowds as he slipped into them and in essence, vanished from view...all except the top of his silver haired head visible as he navigated his way towards the exit of the city in general.
Eventually, he appeared to reach it and a large flash of white light could be seen along the borders of the entrance before fading. Had one been sitting upon a roof top, one might have seen the large white tiger slipping silently into the forested areas towards the western regions once more.
...He was going home.

The symbol on his forehead flickering briefly before fading to mask his presence to those around him. Now it would only remain to be seen that he wore foreign clothes as opposed to being something else. ::Tomo said nothing as he returned to the palace, Byakko's final words to him playing over and over again in his mind.:: Do be careful... of what?::In his heart, Tomo already had an answer. Be careful of your own ego, your own ambitions. Be careful of Nakago, he will extort everything you are for his own purposes. Tomo frowned slightly; he already knew all this. He knew exactly what Nakago wanted out of him, and he was willing to give it all up for him. In the end, Tomo was so starved for someone to understand him, he would do anything to stay beside the one person who did. It was true, he knew all of Nakago's secrets, and Nakago knew little of Tomo's history. Even still, the connection was there. Both seishi had faced the dirty streets of Kutou, lived amongst the corruption and despair. They both had struggled, each in their own ways, to overcome that which threatened to overwhelm their own forsaken souls. And there they were, two completely different people, who were very much the same. That was not something Tomo could so easily give up. But then his mind went to Tatara. That young man and his god had stirred up so many doubts in him, Tomo began to wonder; was it possible there was someone else in this cursed world who could understand him? Could that Byakko seishi share his pain? The possibility was not something Tomo cared to aknowledge, but he could not deny that his curiosity was aroused. The lad was an enigma to him, and Tomo hated being ignorant of anything so aesthetically pleasing. He wanted to find out more about the young man... but that was impossible. He had duties, to Seiryuu, to the Miko, to the Shogun...:: ::Tomo sighed and pushed the conflicting thoughts out of his mind. When he glanced around, he noticed that his feet had taken him back to the shrine. A nervous looking servant was there, holding his decorative headpiece. Tomo took the crown, dismissed the frightened fellow, and carefully placed the adornment on his head, shifting his long ponytail. He sunk back into the comfort of the shadows, patiently waiting, as always, for Nakago's orders.::

"Alrighty, well that didn't take to long now did it?" Tokaki enquired silkily as he appeared at the entrance to the temple of Byakko. A warmth immediately enveloped him in welcome and he grinned in reply, it was always nice to be welcomed home after a long journey but his journey wasn't over that for the groan of discomfort beside him, reminded him that he wasn't alone and with a small sigh he nudged open the temple doors and tugged the tired Tatara inside.
"No, no it did not." Tatara replied in a soft tone as he was lowered onto the cushions in front of the white-gold statue of Byakko. His shoulders slumped at once and with careful precision he had lifted his hands to adjust his hair, returning it to the confinements of the binding thread to cler it away from his face.
"'Sup?" Tokaki replied curiously at the solemn expression, crossing his arms behind his head as he stretched. It wasn't everyday he visited the shrine nor helped a seishi, in fact he had no idea other seishi were actually around but he figured this was the least he could do before he took off again.
"Nothing," Tatara replied, turning his gaze towards the statue as he allowed his entire body to relax, the pain seeping out of his limbs. He would need plenty of rest but he would be fine - after all, he wasn't battered just bruised. Of course his reply had been a lie, he wasn't used to being so harsh to anyone (if you could call it that) and the expression of betrayal upon the unmasked face of Tomo was something he wasn't proud of...unmasked, now there was a surprise...Never in his life had he ever guessed he would see that day.
"Hm, well...I'ma - " Tokaki froze and examined Tatara's ears, something was missing, "Where'd your earring go?" he chirped, causing Tatara to tense immediately and catch his ear.
His eyes widened in utter horror as he thought back to the palace of Kutou, so many time he had been there and upon shifting his face away from that whip it must have fallen off! His earring...
"Oh no..." He murmured in a voice full of dread, his expression clouding with worry. So he had lost his earring, the priests were going to be furious, they had given him that to take care of for them.
"S'alright...I'll get it," Tokaki shrugged at this and grinned, "'Sides - I'm the only one left standing!" He pointed out merrily and vanished, heading back towards the Kutou palace in a series of 'jumps'. He sincerely hoped no one interrupted his search that was all...he wasn't there to harm anyone, just relocate the earring, then again - why was it so important?
He shrugged at this and continued to jump from place to place, he'd ask later.

Nakago ::A dark shroud seemed to envelope him as his mind, body, emotions, and very soul fought within:: Tomo Returns (Kitty Little) ::Tomo sighed and pushed the conflicting thoughts out of his mind. When he glanced around, he noticed that his feet had taken him back to the shrine. A nervous looking servant was there, holding his decorative headpiece. Tomo took the crown, dismissed the frightened fellow, and carefully placed the adornment on his head, shifting his long ponytail. He sunk back into the comfort of the shadows, patiently waiting, as always, for Nakago's orders.:: ::Nakago remain motionless, knwoing it would not be long before Tomo returned, he needed to be in control of himself when that happened. The Byakko's all gone...Avatar and Seishi, the power of Nakago surged out and back into place, protecting Kutou Palace, Looming ominously at the great seals of the City, and in greater force concerning Lady Yui. Not in an effort to overwhelm her, but precautionary, and perhaps to give her strenght...The more she "felt" of him with her, or around her, the better. This was good...for it allowed him to focus his mind elsewhere than where Byakko had lead him, back to his duties...and that which was at hand. He caught hint of Tomo on his return trip and took in a deep breath, but the dark shroud had still not adequetly abated::Nakago did not realize it at first, but the dark shroud plauging his soul was matched by a physical manifestation of darkness. Swirling around his form it began, then sloly, it began to take form, visually, if not truly physically. It formed the shape of an AEthereal hand...Pale skin and long claw like sharp black nails...the hand had fully visibly materialzed by Tomo's return, and he would no doubt see it...and it could be seen...running along Nakago's back, Until only a finger seemed to be tracing down his spine.through his armor..through his back, into his very being. Then it began to draw back and shrink in size...shedding its Aethereal nature and solidifying. The hand then drwe back more, reducing to the size of a normal hand, and then "growing seemingly from darkness, an arm to match it...long, sleek, pale until the shroud of a long cloak began to form. The arm then seemed to "attach itself to the darkness, from whence stepped an ominous figure who cared not what sacred ground he stood upon, so long as he had the power to do so..and he did. A figure garbed in black and purples, an ornate crest upon his head, from which flowed LONG silver hair flowing with his cloak, and peircing eyes...::
::The figure stepped oout of the shadows and then rested his hand, physically upon Nakago's shoulder as Naakgo had begun to rise with Tomo's return::::Nakago froze midrise, and the shroud threatening his very soul darkened and thickened::
"Tenkou..."

Cos-mos7 (( Hmm..Seems the fellow Suzakus have died...)) Korin-Chan ||No kidding, but Subby's there. :bid: || Well...I could theoretically volunteer to play a Suzaku (Don't kill me for that Seiryuu...its so we can keep things going!!!) ((I wish Yue Kurine was here...)) I could play HOTOHORI!!! (Those of you who know..know...XD...no but, I make it on once a day on average...so that could help if the "other side" NEEDS it and Moderator lttle doesnt mind.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Nakago and Then Some ::The figure stepped oout of the shadows and then rested his hand, physically upon Nakago's shoulder as Nakago had begun to rise with Tomo's return::::Nakago froze midrise, and the shroud threatening his very soul darkened and thickened::
"Tenkou..." Tomo (Kitty Little) ::Tomo raised an eyebrow. Tenkou? Here? Things had become maddeningly complicated, and this was the icing on the proverbial cake. Tomo shifted his weight slightly, and silently contemplated just what this could mean for the Seiryuu.:: ::Tenkou stood, saying nothing, waiting::::Nakago finished rising and finally turned to face Tenkou. His mere prescence here bringing to light yet again all that which he had been trying to supress. Nakago's Icy Blue eyes met Tenkou's sharp gaze::"The Byakko...summoning that vicious cat was not enough for them, they had to interfere..."::Nakago turned his head away and took a deep breath::::Tenkou walked, slowly, taking measured steps around the shrine, stopping before the great golden statue of Seiryuu, scowling at it and then resuming his pace, as if he owned the place::
"And the slimey turtle has been brought forth too...How unfortunate..."::Nakago was a tad confused and intruiged at the same time. This was not where he was expecting this to go...where was Tenkou going with this?::"...How unfortunate....for them!::Nakago's eyes shot open wide. The dieties already summoned...a bad thing for them?::::Knowing how this would catch the attention he wanted to catch, Tenkou , back to Nakago, Smirked::::Regaining his outward composure:: Enough of this game Tenkou...why are you here?::Turning so that his side was to Nakago.:: "I am here to make sure you get your revenge on the Byakko."
::Now, standing sideways, his other arm could be seen, and he was holding it in a rather curious position...as if holding something up, but nothing was there::::Nakago looked closer, stepping towards Tenkou and then caught a glimpse of something, something in his hand...something small::::Tenkou curled his fingers in around the object, and then wavered them back out. It was not actually in his hand, for he dare not touch it. He knew the properties that resided within...He COULDN'T touch it. Not directly. But he could make sure it was not overlooked. And that was exactly what he did::
"A small token...left behind by the Byakko. Something that will garuantee that they will be back...and you will have your revenge!"
::He raised the hand that was levitating the object just above his own hand and pointed it at Nakago. The object shot forward, straigh at Nakago's face at an alarming rate of speed::::Reacting quickly, Nakago turned his head aside as a secondary measure, while bringin his hand up to catch the item. He reached it in time, and he could feel the stinging senstion of it trying to penetrate his hand::::Tenkou swept around, walking right next to Nakago and meeting eyes again...the communication passing from siimply their yes back and forth was more than most could ever know or hope to conceive. A sharp look and the doors of the Temple were opening before him. He moved squickly now, stopping only to penetrate the depths of the shadows where Tomo was waiting::::His back to the apparently leaving Tenkou, nakago brougt his hand around to look at what this object was. It was a small earring, uniquely crafted, and because of Tenkou's appearance and attention to it...had to be more than met the eye::

[***The Secret of the Earring - Part One***]
The earring was more than met the eye, and provided exactly as Tenkou had said for a brief flash of white light appeared down thhe corridor, a few metres away from the temple itself. Somebody had teleported in and hadn't bothered to mask their trail - they had either forgotten or considered it unnecessary but whatever it was, it was there.
Truth be told, it was Tokaki and as he dusted himself down he took a few moments to glance around just to make sure he had gotten to the right place. Upon seeing the chains coiled around the pillar; he knew he had, and calmly approached them, having careful consideration to make sure his body language held no threat. He had to find that earring, something in Tatara's eyes had shown that it was a little like a matter of life and death...
"Come on..." He whispered, more of a mumble under his breath, turning his gaze to the ground as he concentrated on the task at hand. Quite frankly if anyone decided to interrupt him now he wouldn't be in the mood to talk, he would be more inclined to ignore them - his search was more important and he should have been able to see the earring a mile off, after all he was young and his eyes were good. The sun was also high in the sky so it should have caused the earring to glisten...
...But it seemed it was nowhere to be found, could it have slipped down a crack, or could it have been moved? The very thought of this made his blood run cold, if that was the case then how in the name of Byakko was he meant to get it back peacefully (provided it hadn't been pawned or destroyed...if it was destroyed then there would be problems).
"Oi..." Tokaki sighed heavily as he brushed a hand through the short and rather messy locks of silver hair, his limbs were tired and he was somewhat disorientated from the travelling - hot and cold temperature changes were easy to deal with gradually, but not suddenly and he'd borught no travel robes. "I should've known this would happen."
He grunted at this and calmed his thoughts as he closed his eyes for a few moments before reopening them, focus, focus...it couldn't have gone far and what would he say it was for if somebody else had it? How would he persuade them to return it...?
Somehow, he thought he already knew.
|ooc: If you find it would be easier to start playing some of the Suzaku seven then I would say go for it, they have been very quiet as of late|

Tokaki (Korin-Chan) The earring was more than met the eye, and provided exactly as Tenkou had said for a brief flash of white light appeared down thhe corridor, a few metres away from the temple itself. Somebody had teleported in and hadn't bothered to mask their trail - they had either forgotten or considered it unnecessary but whatever it was, it was there.

Nakago Turned the earring in his hand, curious...trying to analyze it, deduce its importance. And this was a good distraction, as he was not ready to leave the temple just yet. Even the arrival of a farmiliar energy...another Byakko, didn't bring him out. He did however, having returned his barriers to their standing positions, and brought the seals back to their active state, put a bit of pressure over the palace, so as to keep the invadetrs use of power to a minimum. He wasn't focusing on him...but put enough to make a point.::
::Unmoving...and strong, as if he had not been affected by the interaction with Byakko, he called out::
"Tomo! Get in here...and Bring Shin with you..." Tenkou, with plans of his own, turned away when Nakago called Tomo in. He knew that the byakko had returned...but faster than even he had anticipated. But no matter, he began working his magicks as he walked, fashioning out of a piece of his own head-dress, coupled magically with a single strand of his own hair, enchanting it as it melded together, a replica...a replacement earring, for the one that had been "lost"...one that he intended to give to the Byakko, on Nakago's behalf. In appearance, the replica was uncanny...only one who knew what they were looking for... might be able to distinguis that difference. Emulating the properties, would be a far more difficult task...so he simply masqued it, as if ther had been an attempt to cast a spell on it, and had only succeeded in hiding its true properties. He was sure that would be overlooked until it would be too late.::
::He turned down the next hallway, headed straight for the Byakko lad. Turning one more corner, he saw him searching...surely fo rthe earring, andt hen stand up, almsost frustrated that he had not found what he was llooking for. To Tenkous delight...no one else was around, he could act any part he wanted to pass the "earring" to the boy::
I've never seen you around the Palace before...
