Glad to see that you're all right, Masq. And I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle.
It's cool that you got a gift certificate. Last weekend I gave in and got a membership card to Barnes & Nobles. sweatdrop That should shave off a few dollars of the cost of getting manga from there. sweatdrop

w00t. I got payed for my first art commision. blaugh It was a white and black charcol drawing of my summer english teacher's daughter. I'm hoping to get a picture on DA of it soon. Well, my asking price was $50, but she liked it so much, she paid me $70!!! xd
I really wanna save the money for the new Escaflowne boxset coming out at the end of October (it's $99, but at best buy it's $66 3nodding ). I hope I can save it for that long. sweatdrop Because....there are so many mang and DVDs to buy.... xp

:sigh: I know that the temptation to spend a lot is _very_ tempting, but I'd save it for what you really wnat. Or least save a bit of from very commission that you manage to sell until you're sure that you have enough to get the boxset. That way you can try to have both, the boxset and everything else that you want.

Neko that's awesome! some one last year offered to buy one of my paintings but I never contacted her about it . . . no one could agree on a price for it so I just kept it. xp Barnes and Noble is one of the places I don't have membership to. I have a Waldenbooks and Books-a-Million one. I guess because Barnes and Noble is in fact- out of the way for me. It's not close to where I live at all. That's why I prefer Waldenbooks- in fact both locations are closer than the other two (though one Waldenbooks is right across the street from the Books-a-Million, but it's still closer). Plus I've always loved Waldenbooks collection in manga. In my opinion they have the best, largest, and most variety of mangas I've ever seen. A lot people don't give it credit for carrying a good selection though I've been to Borders, Suncoast, Barnes and Noble, and Books-a-Million and still in my eyes Waldenbooks is better (with mangas . . . the other stores kick Waldenbooks' butt with carrying nonmanga books).

Well, here's how it is in Greensboro, NC....
Walden Books - Decent Selection (The get Hana Kimi in months before other stores do, so I likes them, but tend to go to Borders... sweatdrop )
SunCoast - Ehhh...Almost decent, but not quite (They used t have a better selection)
Borders - Magnifique~ *huge* selection, although it may take them a while to get the new stuff in...BUT! They get Hana Kimi before any other store so I likes them.
Barnes and Noble - Decent Selection -Plus- Much better than Walden Books and SunCoast, but not quite up to par with Borders
Acme Comics - Okay selection, but very good about getting the new stuff in on time or even before the release date.
Cosmic Castle - Ah, the casa. This is where my anime club is held and I have mucho mucho friends here. 3nodding Great manga selection and great about having the new stuff in, better than Acme Comics! (Plus, I can get stuff put on hold here and I have inside connections...mwahahaha! twisted )
And those are all the places I go to find manga!!! sweatdrop

I got new manga though only one TP
Bleach 1 (though I've already read it plus volume 2 I had to get because it was that awesome)
Alice 19th 2
Imadoki! 2
Cresent Moon 3
Descendants of Darkness 1

The descendants one . . . I read scanlations to that back in the day . . . really back in the day and then when I was in Japan my host sister owned it so I "read" it. You know when I was in Japan my host sister was borrowing this series called Black Cat which was totally awesome besides the whole it being in Japanese thing. I just hope one day it'll be liscens. whee You know what manga is coming out next month? Matentie Loki Ragnarok . . . I'm probally the only loser looking foward to this. whee sweatdrop

Surely you jest? I LOVE LOKIIIIIII~! blaugh I can't wait until the anime is released. But the manga, vury beautiful artwork and cute too. The only thing I don't like...is....well, ADV is releasing the manga and they SUCK at release dates. I bought the first Chrno (IT'S C-H-R-N-O, damnit!!! stressed ) Crusade manga back in May and I have yet to see the 2nd volume be released. Same with Pretear, but I just saw it released a couple weeks ago, but those two titles came out in May. It's horrible! There better not be any major cliffhangers in Loki. gonk

i saw the anime (expect the last episode . . . again . . .) sweatdrop
Yeah the art and the manga look awesome. I saw an add for it Newtype USA and I was like "YES! MATENTIE LOKI RAGNAROK MANGA IS COMING OUT!" I can't remember if they actually translated the name or not . . . sweatdrop So ADV has the rights to it eh . . . yeah they are kind of lacking in the Chrno Crusade manga. Actually I heard that in Japan it was suppose to be Chrono Crusade but due to copy rights they couldn't do that name because there was already a video game with that name. Kind of like when X came to america they had to make the manga be called x/1999 because there was already an american comic called X.

I think they're calling it "Loki Ragnarok". Don't quote me on that tho... sweatdrop
I didn't know that about the video game thingie. The only video games coming to mind are Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger. I lurve Chrono Cross, my first rpg. 3nodding
Anywho, Yeah...The Japanese name is "Chrno Crusade", but ADV thought spelling "Chrono" as "Chrno" would make people think it was mispelled. So,..."Chrono Crusade" it was. I'm so happy it's coming out Tuesday and I'll have the moneys to get it!!! heart

Well...Waldenbooks _does_ have a better selection...but I spend most of my time at B&N and they're opne later than Waldens, which is located in the mall that closes at nine. xp
Hastings also carries manga but not as much...they mostly have videos, music and nonmanga books. :sigh:
No Castle Comics or Suncoast where I live...I don't think that there is one where I go to school either...Blah!! xp
I just make do with what I have, you know?

I hear you Mika.

Waldenbooks <- It's 15 minutes away, and another 30-40 minutes away
Books a Million <-30-40 minutes away
Barnes and Noble <- 20-30 minutes away via Interstate
Diversions (local comic store)<-20-30 minutes, very poor selection . . . very poor.

I lovies Waldenbooks- it's close and nice selection heart

Neko- I could you know actually look it up in the Newtype Magazine. xp sweatdrop It's called Mythical Detective Loki RAGNAROK. But it's not on ADV's manga catalog (online) though i saw the add it was coming out next month . . . hmmm *goes check*

Where the crap do they get "mythical"?!? It's just Detective Loki Ragnarok (Matantei Loki Ragnarok). I hate when people (manga/anime companies) change or add stuff about/to the titles. stare
Nya...I found out there's a Hot Topic at the mall closest to me instead of the only other one that was 45 min. away. Now we have one that's only 15 min. away! WAI! blaugh I'm'a gonna go there tomorrow...maybe. I need to buy some H6 pencils...maybe some 9s too, so I'll probably go to the art store too. whee

Meh! I just need to get back to the basics...reading and writing.
For my creative writing class, I have to write a short story (only one, mostly we'll be looking at how other people handle it) and last week I find out that the current story that I'm writing may be too long for the class. stare I'm trying to finish it as quickly as possible. I plan to talk to the teacher about the page length; but if it is what I've been told, then I'm going to have to write another one. And I have a lot of reading for most of my classes as well. stare Being in college can be stressful.
