My expectations for ANY movie that's based off a popular game [series or single] or show are pretty much near zero. However, I don't think the Resident Evil movies turned out THAT bad when you compare it to other game-turned-movies like Alone in the Dark. o.O
There's plenty of potential for a dark, beautiful, and action-packed movie coming from the Castlevania series, but to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if we got a bad movie with a rushed storyline.
American film makers have a tendancy to ruin things. D:

Wait, so that's supposed to be part of the script from the movie? It doesn't feel like CV to me. If the movie turns out to be this way I have a feeling I'm gonna be real disappointed... confused

Well, it's new to me but I'm always behind on this stuff.... Thoughts you say though? Thoughts??? THESE are my thoughts! "I think I'm gonna be sick!" Not only do I find out he's still working on castlevania, but there are reviewers that think he's a GOOD writter?! UGH! Sick is only beginning, if this lack of taste continues it may lead to my grave. Seriously, somebody stop this man!!!
About the script in specific, wtf? Wasn't this supposed to be an ORIGINS story? Meaning Leon Belmont? Second of all, Simon was TOLD about Dracula by the Mayor... Because he's a proffesional soldier that fights TURKS?! No! He thinks Dracula is a good guy at one point! This is nonsense. And finally... Simon's brother? I can already smell the shitty trying to be dramatic scene already "DRACUULAAAAA!!!! You'll PAY for killing my only brother! ARUGHAHAHAGAAAA!!!!!!" stare
@Ariadyne: True it could have been alot worse, but not that bad? C'mon... she broke a zombies neck to kill it... In Day of the dead, they decapped a zombie from the mouth up with a shovel and it was still alive! She was wearing hooker boots and a mini skirt yet somehow managed to avoid a single scratch... (Milla Yovavich I mean) A Licker was formed by a chunk of flesh injected by the T-virus... When they already established that all the T-virus does is revitalize dead cells. And somehow when whatever his name is gets scratched by the Licker he starts becoming Nemesis?

Yeah, besides, if you survive drinking bleach your voice gets all ******** up like that guy from independance day. Rather than drinking bleach ourselves we should opt for forcing Paul Anderson to drink it.

Hey Koemiko! I'm with you on the first RE. I did like that one more than the second one. The second one didn't feel like RE much, and I've only tried the director's cut on the PS1. rolleyes

The second one WAS far worse than the original, but I still think the first one sucked too. If you forget about RE's existance it just wasn't a very good zombie movie. No depth to the characters or plot, zombies got suprisingly LITTLE screen time for a zombie film, and they weren't scary at all. And I will never let go of the fact that some 20 pount bimbo killed both a zombie human and a zombie dog by breaking their necks. Bull-oni!

Is it her weight and build you're upset about, or the fact she killed them by breaking their necks?

| hiraku kioku | hiraku risei | hiraku sekai | ~*~ Shi_Yatsu @Ariadyne: True it could have been alot worse, but not that bad? C'mon... she broke a zombies neck to kill it... In Day of the dead, they decapped a zombie from the mouth up with a shovel and it was still alive! Yes, in Day of the Dead. That was Day of the Dead, NOT Resident Evil. You can't compare creatures from different movies written and directed by different people. In some vampire movies a cross is all you need to rid yourself of a vampire, and running onto to Holy Ground will keep you safe. In others, a very similiar vampire could wear it's own cross, or simply call it [and anything related to the church] propaganda, and even chase your a** right through several churches. Consistancy does not exist between movies, even if they have elements in common. Shi_Yatsu She was wearing hooker boots and a mini skirt yet somehow managed to avoid a single scratch... (Milla Yovavich I mean) Actually, in the first movie it was a dress and low heeled hooker boots. In the second it was a strap shirt + mesh shirt, and some jeans. Valentine wore a much harder-to-move-in outfit in the game in comparison, so really if you're talking wardrobe, it was an improvement in the movie.
I don't remember if she didn't get scratched AT ALL. But it's based on a game. It's quite possible to run through many games and not get hit. Shi_Yatsu A Licker was formed by a chunk of flesh injected by the T-virus... When they already established that all the T-virus does is revitalize dead cells. That's not all a Licker was. It had pieced itself together from parts of many different things. The Umbrella Corperation also had other experiments going on OTHER than the T-virus which IS shown in both movies. Shi_Yatsu And somehow when whatever his name is gets scratched by the Licker he starts becoming Nemesis? Yes. His body started to mutate when it came into contact with the virus, and so does Alice's, which is shown to a greater extent in the second movie.

I think he must mean that a zombie would not die cuz it's already dead and the only believable way to stop one would be to blow it to bits or something similar. That's why in CV they are usually weak against fire... 3nodding

That script is not the official one. Paul Anderson will no longer take part of the production of the Castlevania movie. News: Warren Ellis has signed as the film's screenwriter. So far, Igarashi has approved everything he has come up with. It will be an animated trilogy that will come directly to DVD. Story will be set in Wallachia in the year 1476. According to the screenwriter's blog, he won't include Grant DaNasty in the story. Production Blog: http://castlevaniadraculascurse.com/
