I too scared and shy to ask strangers favors. And when I'm nervous, I can't think straight and I do stupid things. Like when school started, I was the first one the math teacher picked on. I knew the answer, but I was so nervous I said the completely wrong thing.

Its a convention full of strangers, you dont have to be shy around fellow otakus.
And schools completely different from talking to otakus.

I know it's a very bad characteristic. It's just hard to get rid of. Sometimes I tell myself, just get it over with and you won't have deal with it for the rest of your life. And it works 3nodding sometimes sweatdrop

Well all you need to know is that people LOVE to get their picture taken at AX.
They know then their cosplays are good.

Hurting their feelings? heavens no.. by asking them for a photo op makes them feel good..
It made all my friends felt great that they had more then 40 people take pictures taken of them.
