Kaosu was visibly, vocally, and emotionally 'freaking out' now. Not only was he trying to struggle out of the strong grip; not possible, but he was screaming to be let go. His mind was breaking down as well, the thoughts only something along the lines of 'NO!' running through.

Finally at the edge, he stopped. "P-please..no...no...no..." He looked down, and lost that small dot of bravery he had. He backed up into the small frame of his sensei, and then turned around. "...no...nonononono." It was apparent something was wrong at this point. No doubt about it. This wasn't the way Kaosu acted.

"P-p-please...no." He grabbed the sensei's gi. "D-don't make me do this...I can't...I can't...I can't..." He wasn't crying, but he was just as bad.

"Tsk, a coward eh?" Nagi was now extremely agitated. He was more hot-headed than Korin. "Fine, if you don't want to become stronger then stay here, stay a weakling, I heard from Horin that your the one who wanted something more glorious than burying the dead. But seeing you now, I think burying the dead is the perfect job for you. A shinigami's job is to protect Soul Society but if your scared of hanging from a cliff how can you fight hollows? ryokas?"

Nagi turned away. "Alright everyone hang for as long as you can, anyone hanging less than 10 minutes fails.."

Nagi began playing with his toy yo-yo and flicked his wrist letting it drop then come back up. He peered over at the students, they seemed to be struggling already. From the fear of falling and the pain in their hands just gripping on.

Kaosu stopped. He looked at the sensei with a fair bit of scorn. The rest of it was contempt. He turned and stared his fear in the face. Or rather, all the distance of it until one's body crushed to the ground. Fine. You're...you're fine. Just...just breathe. You could climb it before...just pretend you're....just pretend you're climbing. Climbing downwards to hang...yeah...you can do this.

He turned back to the shrimp of a teacher and stared at him with malice. I'll show the contrite piece of crap. I'll show him I'm better than that. He crouched down and touched the dirt lip of the cliff. OOHH...no! Calm down. Caaaaalm. One step at a time. He let one foot slide down from under him into the airy abyss and his whole body froze. NONONONONO!!! He kept yelling in his head, sure he was going to fall. But, contrary to his fear, his other foot followed suit. He had no choice but to hang on for dear life.

He closed his eyes and tried breathing calmly. However, with his freakishly shallow breathing, it was impossible. He looked over, and he had the luck of being next to Tsai. He just closed his eyes and kept muttering. "You're okay. You're fine. You can do this. Overcome fear. You're okay, you're fine...."

"Byakurai!" One of the three said, rather quickly, as she saw Ugu's serious manner. The bolt of lightning smashed forward toward the giant and aptly blasted him in the chest. Taking full advantage of the surprise strike a slightly chubby shingimi rushed toward Ugu.

With a massive burn on the centre of his chest, and his obi ruined, the large shinigami shifted into a defensive stance. He parried both of the strikes sent forth from the chubby arms of the attacker. As he blocked those strikes, though, the third came and attacked him.

"Crackle, Behelth!" the third said, changing his zanapkutou into a thick metal rod. With two quick prods the bo user smacked Ugu in the face and nicked the large shinigami's chin.

Ugu quickly twisted his blade and smashed by the chubby shinigami. He went straight toward the woman who had unleashed a kidou onto him. A quick shunpo, and side step, and he was behind the little girl. The large shinigami quickly slashed downward at the girl's head and followed that strike with another downward slash.

A blazing bath of blood fountained from the girl's wounds. Ugu simply kicked her still bleeding corpse to the side. The same medic that attended to Ugu's first opponent began work on the fallen shinigami. Her chubby friend, again taking advantage of an opening.

But, quite aware of the already shown tendencies of the fat shinigami, Ugu twisted on his heels and slashed at the oncoming man. The blow was blocked and the two remaining loafers stared back at the already blood covered Ugu Zenmaru.

Shunketsu had followed the others and was now dangling off the side of the cliff...

"hmm...interesting predicament I've gotten into..."

Shunketsu wasn't used to the arm strain, but he wasn't going to give up anytime soon. At this point in his life, or well...life after death, he would rather die again than fail. He swore to himself that he'd get stronger, not for his own sake but for others, and if he fell here, he'd never forgive himself...

Kaosu was now doing something most people liked to call 'dry crying'. He was making all the noises of people when they sob, but he wasn't crying. He could take the strain, that wasn't a problem. It was the hanging he couldn't take. Nothing under his feet for...a long ways.

He took Tsai's advice, looking up. "Yeah...thanks...the sky. I'll...I'll look at the sky. Big...blue...above me...safe. Yeah, safe." He closed his eyes, trying to stop his sobbing. "Hoo...boy. I'm fine...I'm fine...Just dandy...ignore the floor...ignore the floor..."
