Clow hummed along until another song came on, a fun little instrumental diddy that wasn't too fast either; Clow was very grateful for this.
His eyes had been more or less closed during the first song, enjoying the memory of the first time he had heard it, but for this song he opened his eyes, almost startled to see Yuuko's mysterious eyes staring into his.
Leaning foward, he smiled and whispered in her ear, "Yes, my dear?"

Yuuko shivered just a tad and blinked. "I didn't say anything..."
She tried to focus on the the next song, but the words from the last were still in her mind. Was that song special to Clow? It had his favorite word in it. Bijoux!

Studying Yuuko, he couldn't stop smiling as he wondered what was going on in that amazing mind of hers. Lifting his head, he straightened his posture; Yuuko was tall, but not that tall.
"I wonder how I angered you this time," he said lightly, pulling her in closer. "You're frowning again."

Yuuko whined, partly from being pulled in closer without any notice. She was starting to feel like perhaps she was trapped by this dance. It was a slightly vulnerable feeling, but she couldn't say that she completely disliked it. "I have the right to frown when I want to frown. Isn't that right, my bijoux?"
She threw the word she had been hearing all day back at Clow, hoping that maybe it was something bad although she doubted it from the previous song.

Clow blinked, surprised. Why did she call him that? She didn't honestly consider him her -
And suddenly it dawned on him. She had no idea what that word meant.
Clow laughed, simply tickled by how Yuuko seemed to notice the smallest of things and pounce on them like an impatient cat. How many times had he said bijoux that day? He hadn't noticed until that moment that it had been more than usual, which was almost never.
His smile turning into something much more devious, he asked in a vastly superior voice, "Do you even know what that word means?"

"Of course I do!!" She snapped back, gripping his hand tighter in anger. She was obviously lying. Few people would catch her lying like this and acting immaturely at the same time. "It means..."
"Um..." She was in a bind.
"...Witch?" She cocked her head to the side. She knew she was wrong, of course, and this knowledge only caused her to snap at Clow again. "Stop looking at me like that!"

"Like what?" he asked in a playful voice, and the hand on Yuuko's waist slipped down just a tad in response to the mind-numbing pain in his fingers. If she was going to insist on crushing his fingers, he would at least annoy her a bit in the process.
"And it doesn't mean witch," he added airily. He paused for a moment. "It means jewel." He gave her a pompous expression of mixed amusement and impatience, a lord surveying an airheaded maiden (though Yuuko was far from an airhead). "Maybe if you decided to learn a language instead of creating all those spells in order to hear foreign words in your native Japanese you would have known that already."

Yuuko was almost boiling over. She was simultaneously being groped, patronized to, and...and cherished? She had no idea that was the true meaning of the word, but before she got to deal with that, she had to touch on a few other things.
"Well, darling Clow, not everyone is such a genius as you are," She answered with venomous sarcasm. Incorrigible man! She continued her argument coolly. "Perhaps my spell is more convenient than learning every language on the planet. While you may like to show off, I'm sure other people in the future won't have time as they travel to unexpected places. I think they, at least, will appreciate my efforts. Or should I buy them 100 language text books instead?"
She challenged him with her gaze, but allowed her fingers on his hand to stretch in order to relieve his discomfort. She hadn't known she was gripping his hand so tightly. The witch still wasn't sure what to say about being called a jewel. She was a little too irritated to think about it.

Clow listened to her tirade with an almost bored expression. "Right, because you plan to share this spell with the world for the good of the people," he drawled, an eyebrow raised delicately. "Revealed on the anniversary of the spell that creates food and eradicated hunger." He allowed himself a shocked expression. "Oh, wait, you never shared that spell either."
Ah, but as much as he enjoyed this arguing, he didn't want to let her go quite yet - unlike the witch, he was mindful of the artist and didn't want to ruin his painting after taking so much care to provide him only the best angles - and so he leaned foward and brushed the skin on her forehead with his lips.
"Let's not argue, my bijoux," he said softly. "It might spoil the ice cream later."

Yuuko was still furious. "How long do we have to keep this dancing?"
"And I'm not your bijoux, but for the artist's sake, I'll pretend to like you for a minute," She tilted her face up to rub her cheek tenderly against Clow's face. If anything, that action was an example of what Clow would never have if he continued to infuriate her. After some hesitation, she left him a soft kiss on his jaw that lingered for artistic purposes.
"You certainly do a fairly believable job of pretending to like me," she whispered. "Despite how selfish and inferior you find me to be."
Obviously, it was a little too late for Yuuko to stop arguing, even though she had tried to tone it down.

"Un chanson plus, et je serai fini!" The artist sang out happily, so absorbed in his painting he didn't even notice their bickering.
"See? You only have to put up with me for one more song," Clow reported, taking advantage of the close proximity to kiss the side of her neck. Her perfume was deliciously intoxicating, as usual. "As for myself, well..." He laughed softly into her skin, half-wishing the last song would last forever. "You are rather bewitching. How do I know you aren't casting a spell on me?" Not that he really belived that she could, but the words sounded nice. Plus, it'd stroke her apparently wounded ego a bit.

You're full of it. Yuuko answered mentally because she was not in the proper state to speak. Clow's kiss on her neck and his breath caressing her made her want to forget all about their argument. She didn't even mind the artist who had spoken. She only wrapped her arms around Clow's neck, wishing they were in a more private area. She gave him one more kiss that was not for artistic purposes, hoping that she wouldn't regret it in the next few seconds. Suddenly, icecream was becoming not-so-important.

It suddenly became very difficult to restrain himself, something that only happened to Clow when either Yuuko or books were around, though with entirely different effects.
One hand now free, he put it on her waist, both hands now at the proper height. He pulled her closer, the scent of her perfume thick and seducing, her lips tempting, so tempting...
But, being the gentleman he was, he could not allow himself to play out any of the fantasies that were currently on repeat in his mind, and so instead, as the song prepared to end, took her hand off his neck and into his, then dipped her deftly, staring into her eyes.
Clow found himself speechless.

"Clow~" Yuuko swooned with the pleasure that only fine cakes and a good beer buzz gave her. She met his gaze with her own, believing that she could look at him forever. She found that her breathing had quickened a little, probably from the dancing.
Yuuko could happily stay in this position until someone pulled them apart.

((Random, but it's kind of annoying how the sound of a soccer announcer's voice getting louder as someone gets near the goal. It keeps popping me out of my chair. gonk ))
Clow, too, wished they could stay like this - granted, his strength would eventually wane, but that's what magic was for - but the joyful sound of an accomplished artist interrupted them.
"C'est magnifique!" the artist gushed, referring to his work rather than the couple. Clow relunctantly lifted Yuuko back to her feet and led the way to the canvas.
It was a breathtaking work, and Clow marveled over how quickly it was accomplished. It showed the both of them dancing, Clow on the left, Yuuko the right, the streetlamp and sunset highlighting them dramatically as they gazed into each other's eyes. The entire piece held an underlying sense of passion, and Clow found himself wanting to own the piece.
"C'est combien?" he asked the artist.
