#148 Dragonair User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Interesting Facts: The name "Dragonair" is a portmanteau of "dragon" and "debonair", referring to Dragonair's dragon-like form and their affable and suave nature. The last syllable may also be derived from "air", referring to Dragonair's ability to become airborne, or possibly even the "air" being a feminine-sounding suffix. Their English name was originally going to be "Dragyn". In the Japanese version, "Haku" in this case means older brother as they are the elder form of Dratini. "Haku" can also mean white, creating the possible interpretation of the creature's name as "white dragon".

Poke'dex Entry: Dragonair look like sea serpents, thus having some dragon-like characteristics. They have a long, sleek, blue and white body. They have a small horn on the forehead and two wing-shaped protuberances on the sides of the head which are often said to be ears, but are in fact wings, as evidenced in the short film preceding Pokémon: The Movie 2000. They have a blue orb placed at the neck and another two near the tip of the tail, similar to the rattle on a rattlesnake.

Dragonair live in large bodies of water, like lakes or the sea. They store an enormous amount of energy inside their bodies. This energy seems to manifest itself in two distinct fashions. First, even though they lack large wings, Dragonair has been seen flying with the wings on the side of the head greatly enlarged.

Furthermore, a Dragonair can discharge energy through the crystalline orbs on its neck and tail to envelop itself in a gentle aura. This aura, which makes its body shine slightly and gives it a mystical appearance, is said to enable the Dragonair to control the weather in the immediate area and change it in a matter of minutes.

Even though Dragonair are known best for their ability to control the weather, they do not naturally learn any moves that change the weather in battle (such as Rain Dance, Sunny Day, or Hail).

#149 Dragonite User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Interesting Facts: The name "Dragonite" is a reference of the word draconite, the valuable jewel thought to be inside dragons' skulls. Its Japanese name, Kairyu, literally means "Sea Dragon" (kai=sea, ryu=dragon).

Poke'dex Entry: Dragonite's appearance is notably different from that of its previous forms (Dratini and Dragonair). As Dragonite, it is now an orange bipedal dragon with a beige underbelly that extends from the top of its neck to the tip of its tail. Along with already being a Dragon-type, it has now gained the secondary Flying-type, growing wings. It has a small horn on the top of its head, along with slighty "S" shaped antennae. However, much like its previous forms, Dragonite still has a gentle and somewhat innocent appearance.

Dragonite behavior is inspired by both the mythical dragon (in that they can fly, breathe fire, and lay eggs), and by real-world dolphins (in that they use echolocation, have a strong connection to the sea, and possess near-human intelligence). Also, like the dolphin, they have been noted to save drowning swimmers and threatened sailors. They even have the ability to release electric charges from their antennae. How they do so is unknown, but it may be because the fur on their antennae allow a powerful static charge to build. Dragonite are very loyal to any trainer they find worthy of acceptance. They are calm, gentle, and intelligent creatures, but when threatened can put their pudgy bulk to good use. Dragonite seem to have more advanced vocal abilities compared to other Pokémon in that they make several different types of calls, rather than just saying their name. They also have incredible flight capabilities and are considered some of the fastest flying Pokémon in existence despite the size of one's wings compared to the rest of its body. It makes a loyal servant to humans.

#150 Mewtwo User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Interesting Facts: Mewtwo's name originates from that of another Pokémon, Mew, from whom its genes originate. The "two" suffix refers to Mewtwo being a cloned and enhanced Mew. The name Mewtwo refers to the species as a whole, as well as to individual specimens in the games, anime, manga, trading cards, and other media.

Mewtwo's body is light purple and has an alien-like appearance, also resembling Mew's to an extent.

Poke'dex Entry: Mewtwo is described by the in-game Pokédexes of the Pokémon video games as being cloned from Mew[3] having been created by scientists by modifying Mew’s DNA. However, they had created it solely for battling and failed to make it compassionate.[4] It is primarily due to this reason that most Mewtwo appearing in the various Pokémon media are destructive and remorseless. A sapient being, Mewtwo is among the few Pokémon species created by humankind. In place of ears, Mewtwo has two small horns. Its body is more humanoid than that of Mew.

Due to its genetic background, Mewtwo’s powers are undeniable. Mewtwo can employ telekinesis to lift people and Pokémon off the ground, or to perform self-levitation. With only a minor strain on its mind, Mewtwo can achieve genuine flight. Mewtwo has the ability to project its thoughts telepathically to others, making it one of the few Pokémon who can communicate with humans directly (it can also understand other Pokémon as well). When in battle with another Pokémon, Mewtwo can easily summon a barrier of psychokinetic power to protect its body. It can also erase the memories of others.

Even though Mewtwo is the clone of Mew, it does not have the ability to use all attacks and moves for unknown reasons. This is speculated to have originated from its possibly imperfect cloning process. However, it is said in the first Pokémon movie, by one of Mewtwo's creators, that Mewtwo is the "most powerful Pokémon". ("We tried to create the world's most powerful Pokémon, and we succeeded.")

#151 Mew User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Interesting Facts: Its name may be a reference to the sound made by cats, the Japanese word for strange or unique (妙, myō?), or the English word mutant (ミュータント, myūtanto?).
In the Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow, FireRed, and LeafGreen, the discovery and existence of Mew is revealed through 2 out of 4 diaries found in the abandoned Cinnabar Mansion, also called the Cinnabar Mansion Journals. The Cinnabar Mansion Journals are found in several rooms within Cinnabar Mansion and contain information pertaining to the discovery of Mew and the creation of Mewtwo. There are 4 journals in total; only 3 of them refer to Mew (the first two journals tell of Mew's discovery, while the third tells of Mew's "giving birth" to Mewtwo), while the last refers only to Mewtwo. The first of the journals claims that Mew was discovered in South America.

According to game Pokedexes, it has only been sighted only a few times by people who are pure of heart and have a strong desire to see it. It is still believed to be a mirage by many experts. Its DNA is said to have the codes of all of the Pokemon. Its fine hairs can only be seen through a microscope. It can learn any TM or HM, and can make itself invisible at will and fly. Mew was cloned by Team Rocket, and its clone is the equally powerful Mewtwo, who, in the first Pokemon movie, tried to destroy Mew, but comes back in Mewtwo Returns and assists Ash, along with Mewtwo's cloned Pokemon. According to Cinnabar Mansion Journal No. 1, Mew was discovered on July 5 (Year Unknown), deep in the jungles of South America (this is supported by Mew's data in the PokéDex). In Cinnabar Mansion Journal No. 2, it is stated that on July 10 (just 5 days after it was first discovered), the newly discovered Pokémon (Mew) was given its name ("Mew") by the scientists that discovered it. The last journal that refers to Mew, Cinnabar Mansion Journal No. 3, states that on Feb. 6, Mew 'gave birth' to Mewtwo. On Faraway Island, there is a sign that appears to be written a long time ago. It says: "...ber, 6th day. If any human...sets foot here...again...et it be a kindhearted pers...ith that hope, I depar..."

Poke'dex Entry: Mew appears as a pink feline-esque Pokémon with short arms, long feet, large blue eyes, and a long tail. Its skin is covered with a layer of fine pink hair. In the 3D games, it is shown to be white with pink points on its feet, tail, and head. It seems to be genderless as well. The Cinnabar Mansion Journals (4 diaries found in Cinnabar Mansion) state that Mew 'gave birth' to Mewtwo, Mewtwo was genetically altered by the author (probably with the aid of his fellow researchers) of the Cinnabar Mansion Journals diary. This is explained in both the plot of Pokémon: The First Movie and Mewtwo's Pokedex entry.

By nature, Mew is known to be a playful, but wise, Pokémon that acts benevolently towards all other Pokémon. Its DNA is said to possess the genetic composition of all existing Pokémon species. If its DNA does contain all the genetic compositions of every other Pokémon, it is safe to say that Mew may have been the first Pokémon and they evolved over time to today's modern species, excluding Porygon, Arceus, Dialga, Palkia, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, (Arceus being the Alpha Pokémon, Dialga and Palkia being stems of Arceus' power and Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf being stems of Arceus' spirit), Entei, Raikou, and Suicune (they having been created by Ho-oh). Also note that there are some theories by Pokémon enthusiasts that Mew is older than even Arceus, but possibly from a different dimension. It is capable to use seemingly all known Pokémon techniques. In addition to its wildly variable techniques, Mew can also transform into another Pokémon in the same manner as Ditto. It is also capable of instant teleportation, summoning giant pink bubbles of psychic energy, and making itself invisible at will.
Mew also strongly resembles the jerboa. The long feet and tail with stubby arms support this, and in addition, its sprite in Pokémon Green has the hunched-over posture characteristic of the jumping rodents.
