"I know I know! But you don't understand Calin!" Xearus was getting defensive again. And images shifted into his mind and showed him a different. No, not real, Calin was Right, Darvien was ******** with him. Diversion...he needed it bad...
His first glance, with feral eyes was to Calin...nothing better to vent your frustrations on something that moves. But that's what Darvien wanted. He had said 'don't kill each other'. Now Xearus was being pushed to do it. Damn Darvien and his games.
But he found his diversion in the silver as unprotected palms were pressed flat against the walls, the resulting hiss of burning flesh ringing out. But Xearus kept from screaming and closed his eyes, trying to find his diversion in that pain. He wasn't going to let Darvien win, and he most certainly wasn't going to strike Calin down.

Calin's head was filled with images, horrible images and his palms began to sweat and blood appeared on his forehead. His eyes widened in fear and he cringed painfully, crying out and falling to the ground. His stomach was burning, his skin was sizzling...it all hurt. He felt himself being burned alive and he rolled on the ground, screaming in horror. "Nooo!" He was terrified, it showed in his eyes, in the way his body shook when he was laying there whimpering like a dog on the floor at his master's feet.

Xearus forced his eyes open and looked to Calin who seemed now to be the victim. "CAlin...listen to me..." It was hard to talk through pain. "Just like you said...it isn't real...think of something else...you're fine...just...concentrate on..."
On what? What was the easiest? Wha- "Blood Calin. Think about blood...fresh warm blood from your first successful hunt." Again there he was being protective of him once more.

Well that was no fun. Xearus was hurting himself. But Calin...he was in worst shape, and mostly for that particular rememberance givne a new life in a fresh mind. But Xearus wouldn't go for that. besides he wouldn't dream of taking the real feeling of sunlight away from Xearus for the first time. So he pressed down on his little intercom button, so he coudl be heard onteh speaker in that room.
"I see you aren't enjoying yourselves all that much. But I am rather amused at you, Xearus. injuring yourself like that. going to make it hard to feed when you can't hold the prey. not to mention..you'll use up more blood healing those wounds."
Darvien was chuckling lightly now, at Calin.
"Oh and Calin. Don't spoil that for Xearus. Or I'll make things much worse on you. You've only got another day's worth in there, then you'll be free birds again."

Blood... He closed his eyes and tried to see himself as bringing someone down and biting into her neck, letting that sweet liquid slide down his throat. But the image changed. It was Semara and she was standing over him as blood was everywhere. Gutting him with silver. He began to breathe erratically and was still freaking out when he forced the image to be overpowered by himself, successful hunter. He could do this. Power ran through his veins and his teeth clenched. He was so damn hungry. Turning, his eyes glowing he looked at Xearus.

Xearus growled at Darvien as the voice was heard over the intercom. The man was acting like he had put a rabid dog and cat in a cage together just to see them rip each other apart. He didn't respond to Darvien, because in essence he was right. Any blood he had left was going to go into emergency healing...and getting hold of prey would only be hard and probably cause more injury. Damn that vampire's logic.
Another look to poor Calin...and Xearus had to double take. "s**t..." He yanked away from the wall, standing to face Calin now. Calin now held that look of a starved predator turning on it's own kind for the flesh it required to live. Iridescent gray narrowed at the younger vampire as the room started to go silent from them both. Calin wasn't thinking...no...he couldn't be... "Calin...""

Calin was still in his mind, and to him Xearus was his prey. A middle aged man, starting to gray at teh temples, easy prey really. He hissed lightly and moved across the room in a burst of lightning speed and baring his fangs said, "Lowly human, prepare to die!" In his mind he grabbed the man and instantly sank his fangs into his neck, but he heard Xearus' voice come out of the man. Calling his name. He blinked momentarily and shook his head but the demonic gleam remained in his eyes. He slowly circled Xearus, he could smell the other vampire's sizzling skin. He was weaker now, injured. Pick of the sick and the young. They were the easiest. Pure instinct was ruling Calin now. He hissed again, his fangs bared and licked his lips. "Blood.."

"Oh no you don't...not mine..." Fear wasn't the ruling factor in Xearus now, it was more of annoyance. Seemed that Calin had snapped, and Darvien was getting his show. Poor Calin though...
No matter how fast Calin, Xearus was faster and with a quick back step out of Calin's reach. He had his trench on and had even grabbed his gloves from his pockets and put those on as well. So now he joined Calin in his circling motions.
"So help me Calin...I will not hesitate to bring you down..." But Xearus also had his own tricks. Cloaking for one, he could do. Didn't work on the elder vampires, but perhaps a blood crazed fledge was easy enough to fool. They were often stupid enough in their blood lust.
Slowly he slid his hand into his coat, fingers wrapping around the cold steel of the weapon he kept concealed. Yes, he'd use that too if need be. Would be helpful in tying Calin up really. Darvien wasn't going to get his wish of Xearus killing Calin.

Calin kept circling, snarling and hissing. He wanted nothing more than to just sink his fangs and feed, adn Xearus' blood would do it. The gleam remained in his eyes and he moved in lightning speed and leaped at Xearus, his fingers formed like claws as he connected with his shoulder and used his foot to kick out, aiming for the older vampire's stomach. He knew how to fight and his voice came out in a low growl, "You're mine.."

Xearus let himself take the hit, Calin's hand at his shoulder, foot to the stomach. But he also used Calin's own momentum against him. The kursara-kama was out, chain let loose and wrapped around Calin with Xearus holing both ends as he let his knees give out and shifted the weight of them both back on his heels.
Combined, it would force Xearus to his back, chain securing Calin enough to hold him and make him fall with the elder vampire. The momentum would give Xearus the force he needed to roll back, thus putting Calin back first in the floor, Xearus on top.
And Calin would now find his hands also wrapped in that chain, Xearus' knee in his chest, silver blade of the kursara-kama to Calin's neck in threat. "Calin snap out of it!" Sure Xearus was no match height and weight wise.

And Calin thought he had it won when his feet connected...but he soon found himself bound by chains on his hands and on his back, the blade at his throat. The gleam in his eyes quickly disappeared and he stared up at the gray eyes of Xearus. The one who had saved his life once before and been through this with him. Shame slammed into him as he realized what he had been about to do and he closed his eye, a drop of blood dripping from his forehead and onto his hair and then the floor. His whole body started to shake and fear replaced the look in his eyes. "Xearus.." he groaned. "Just do it. Kill me...please."

Xearus pulled away the blade and pulled the attached chain off of Calin. He had learned the secret. No matter how tough Calin appeared, when faced with a little violence and him knowing that he wasn't winning...the fledgling backed down rather easily without complaint.
Now Xearus leaned down, getting in Calin's ear to whisper. Didn't particularly want Darvien to hear if he was listening in. "I kill you and he wins Calin. You want him to win? You want to be the cringing dog under his boot? Show him Calin. He can't always win."
Pulling away he got off of Calin and stood, brushing off his coat. Well, one thing had been accomplished...he wasn't so angry anymore.

Calin listened and then nodded. Xearus was right. Who was Darvien to win? He was doing exactly what he wanted him to. A puppet on the a*****e's strings. He had fallen directly into Darvien's planned trap. And now he felt like s**t because of it. He picked himself up and brushed himself off, then looked up. "s**t." The sky was beginning to lighten. Dawn was coming soon and it was going to be more drippping silver and weakening more and more as the day went by. "We'll get through this Xearus. Somehow...right?"

Darvien had ben enjoying the show, until Xearus didn't finish the job. Fair enough. So Semara was Xearus' real weakspot. He'd file that away for later. and Calin was easy to manipulate through starvation. this littel room was wokring out great. it alone coudl be used to keep Calin in line, and Semara can be used to keep Xearus in line. But of course he felt the comign of dawn, and a ghoul entered in ahis suit as always to monitor things in Darvien's absence. The ghoul started to get thigns ready, and Darvien left his office, heading to his private rooms, to sleep the day away in comfort. Of course the ghould hit the intercom button, mostly becuase he could.
"Mr. Adrik wishes you both a pleasent day."

Xearus looked over his shoulder, and offered Calin a smile and a nod. "Yes Calin. We will...we just gotta keep ourselves together. One more day is all." He kicked the ground. "It's not so bad...you'll get used to it. I'll teach you how to take a beating from Darvien and all."
His eyes drifted upward as Calin's did. "And so dawns another day...I'm not sleeping again. If you do, make sure you're tucked tight to the wall and try to cover your skin." Coat off and folded, set on ground, and Xearus took his seat on top of it in the corner again.
Then a look up at the intercom voice. "Pleasant ******** day to him too..."
