Avelop laughed when he heard that they could sing, ''I better not, my singing is worse than the krakens''. He knew that the female wanted him to leave, but he would only leave via a direct order from the man, as he evidently seemed incharge of the ship-building.

They would most likely ignore him, until he did something wrong then they would make him leave or hit him. If he did something right, it would just be what they expected off him. He knew nothing of building, so he couldn't help much, but he did know about knots, so he could help with the rigging, he prided himself on kowing all the knot's used in the rigging as he was taught them at an early age, he was not a 'Master' of knots, but he knew quite a few.

Avelop realized he wasn't thinking straight so he turned his head back towards the other people.

Tracey just kept on going, not bothering to tell Avelop that he wasn't talking to him. As far as he was concerned, the man was an extra set of hands tagging along. It as Tia that he offered to help.

His mind was not on them at the moment, it was on the building they needed to get done. Without knowing what their limits, it was hard to set them to task. So, like working in the dark, he thought of tasts to test them. First off would be the home, he knew how he wanted it, it would be up to them to follow what he said while he worked on other aspects. The question is, who and how much alone?

While he pondered this, his feet kept leading to where a modest pile of thick wood lay. Okay, it was only two pieces of wood, very thick pieces he struggled to move by himself. He nearly messed his back up, it was still sore and hurting him. If he hadn't have stopped, then he really would have been in trouble. Yet, he is able to hide the discomfort completely because he is so used to not complaining or showing weakness. This wasn't going to be easy, and it would take months to complete, he was positive of that; however, with help, it would get done faster with less hardships.

Time's before him had seemed hard, makng himself feel mature, educated, wise, but how wrong could he be. He could barely write, he was childish, silly, cheeky, whatever. Now who was this man, to walk into his life, like a beacon, who was this man, who came into his life fitting exactly into a prophecy given to avelop by an old hag. the prophecy had stated 'You will believe yourself invincible, untill the day your master appears to show you the way', Avelop was sure this was that man, but would resist calling him master, untill he had confronted him about it first.

Avelop decied to pick up some wood as well as his master, he carried all he could, putting pressure on his back, but he realised, that's what he had been to these two.

Building a ship would be difficult, and the road ahead was unclear, with trials ahead. Together he was sure they could get off the island, or survive till a boat got there.

Tracey only spared him a moment's glance, "There is a lot of work to be done, strain yourself now and you'll be useless." He laid down the items he collected, and walked over the circle he had placed in the sand earlier. The distance was right, and he did do a lot of calculations, not the math kind just watched the waves to figure out where they went in high tide. That spot would keep the home form being washed away.

Walking forward to the center area, a coconut shell filled with water laying there to make its place. Reaching down, he dug a whole just big enough for his hand and a little bit of his wrist to fit. He had his back so that they could see what he was doing. The water was used to keep the edges of the whole from sliding back down. He proceeded to mark out a fire pit big enough for him to walk three steps--heel to toe. Marking everything he said, "Make the rest of the fire pit just as I showed. Ask if your not sure, I'd rather answer questions then fix mistakes."

He didn't say who should do it, because it didn't matter, all that did was that it got done. He went to collect wood to make the actual house. He had some stripped pieces of saplings; however, it wouldn't be big enough for him to be able to tolerate three people, so it was off to find more.

Tia stayed quite through everything just following along. She watched Tracey mark the area thinking he was being very detailed just for a camp site. After hearing Tracey finally giving an order. She simply replied with a song.

"Shiver my timbers, shiver my soul
Yo oh heave ho
There are men whose hearts as black as coal
Yo oh heave ho ."

As she sang she grabbed a few pices of wood from Avelop's back and headed over to where Tracey had marked the fire place. She broke the wood and put it place before standing and spotting some rocks in the distance.

"And they sailed their ship cross the ocean blue
A blood-thirsty captain and a cutthroat crew

It's as dark a tale as was ever told
Of the lust for treasure and the love of gold."

Tia made her way over to the stones choosing some the size of a clenched fist. She carried as many as she could back to the fire place and begain to mark the fire circle that would hold in the stay pices of wood.

"Shiver my timbers, shiver my sides
Yo oh heave ho
There are hungers as strong as the wind and tides
Yo oh heave ho."
......
"How this?" She looked up at Tracey ready to redo it if so need be.

Avelop thanked her for taking the wood of him, and built another trench.
He looked inquisitively at Tracey then asked ''Master, would you teach me manners when we get off this island?'' He knew the question must ssem very odd, but he couldn't be liked less so he decided to ask it anyway.

While the female was looking away, he spoke quietly to Tracey ''We better be carefull, we have a 'Charlotte de Berry' back there, she's violent. She almost shot me, unusual circumstances though. You have nothing to fear from me, I have never killed before. Never.''

He turned and set back to work, allowing tracey to think on his first question. He hoped for a yes, but he wsas unsure what the answer would be.

Tracey returned with five bushels of six foot tall saplings from a native trees, slender but sturdy enough. All the bushels were tied together with rope which is what he used to toe them behind. He wasn't all that good at guessing something he had never done before; however, he had seen other villagers do this and just grabbed what they did for making a large home.

He also had five sticks of Heart of Palm from a grateful villager he help out along the way. The Hear of Palm was vinegary, but notorious and would do as a part of a decent diet.

He served what she had done, nodding his approval. She was a good worker, he could see that already. Letting go of the rope that held his load, he placed a palm leaf on the ground and the Hearts of Palm, grabbing one for himself and starting to eat it as he plotted out the building. "Help your self." He stated before taking another bite, this wasn't really to his tastes; however, one can't be choosy when there is nothing else to eat until this task was done.

Tracey remembered the blond from his last ship, and how she couldn't stand sleeping in the same cabin as any male besides her good friend Tiny Cannon. If Tai wanted shelter, she'd have to deal with being in the same room as him; Avelop he'd kick out if he became a problem before an assistance. Still he like his personal space as well, so he took all that into account.

Marking out the space for three hammocks, one on each side of the fire leaving the third side of the fire open for a door. None of them would be able to touch the other unless they got up and walked over to them. That would have to do. Speaking again, he instructed, "I need a large pile of palm leaves, and a starting store of coconuts. If either of you can spear fish or can use a net, then do so. If not, I'll teach you once the hut is completed." He didn't tell them that the hut he was building was vital, with the weather the way it liked to be; because, he didn't have to explain himself. If either didn't agree, they could leave save him a good deal of work.

Yeah, Tracey did think the extremely odd question the man asked, also on how he spoke of Tia. The man obviously didn't understand what his promise to help ment. "My name is Tracey," He said clearly for them both to hear, "That is the only accatable thing to call me at this time." He hadn't earned any higher title, and wouldn't take any until he had.

In responce to Avelop, he shared a little wisdom, "Killing is not something you have to learn to do. Anyone can no matter if its the first time or the 100th time. She is the one I promised to help, keep that in mind when speaking of her, I keep my honor. As for manners, you'll either learn them from watching or from being admonished." He did stop and wonder if the man would even know a word as big as that. If he didn't, then he'd learn a valuable lession, ask when someone is willing to answer.

Avelop nodded then spoke ''Yes master.'' he took out his dagger, then went to the stream, he waited until he saw a fish swim by, he prepared his dagger, then plunged it into the water, catching a fair size fish. He left the fish on the bank, and got his dagger ready for another go.

The next few attempts were not so succesfull, and only on his nineth try did he catch another, this one was smaller than the first, then another he caught was even smaller. After another fish being smaller than the first one, he decided to take back his catch. In total, he had plunged his dagger 73 times, catching 5 fish he was unsure whether or not to be proud about this.

He took the fist over to his hammock, then wrapped the fish, in seperate large leaves. Once all five of the fish were wrapped in leaves, he took them over, and soaked all the leaves with water, then took them over to the fire to cook.

OOC: I did this once at a Bivouac event, smoked fish. You put in on the fire, then once it's cooked take the leaf of and it's ready to eat. I accidentaly chewed the fin....

After the fish cooked, he handed them out then spoke ''You asked why I hang to my heritage, because I've had trouble with the spanish, and any spaniard is intimidated by th name Sir Francis Drake, the tell their young he is the bogeyman, and if you were english, you would consider him a hero, I meant to stop trouble. But now I realise, I am the trouble.''

He ate his fish quickly, then took his dagger and fetched some small logs, he started carving out something. Wood shaving's went everywhere, and Avelop recieved many cuts on his hand, but after a while he had made a makeshift bowl, he filled this with water and took it to near the fire, ready for any more cooking.

He went back to the river to attempt to catch more fish, but with the cuts, he wasted ages of his time, catching nothing.

The Golden Cutlass door opened and there stood a man, face in the shadows. He took a step into the light and reveiled his blonde head, tunic'd chest and strong arms hanging at his sides, hands over his double bladed daggers, one on each hip. Luther lowered his eyes to the bar and walked over purposfully. Taking a seat he called for a whiskey, sat hunched and waited for his drink.

After the arrival of his first whiskey Luther had already set to his second and third. After his fifth he heard some comotion from behind him. Apparently two men were having a knife throwing contest and both declared themselves the winner. It seemed rather clear to Luther that a fight was going to erupt from this pointless argument, he found himself standing and with boths blades in hand.

Turning sharply Luther let loose with both blades, each sticking just so into the wall on either side of the point each man had been aiming.

"Good Lord man! You're a righ' nice shot." Said the first man with amuzment on his face.

"What do you mean?" said Luther wobling on his feet, pulling his daggers from the wall, "I was aiming for yer 'eads. I missed." Turning his back on the men he knew he had started what he meant to. Both men attacked with their knives pulled from the wall. Drunken, Luther bowed to the floor and brought his blades around spinning on his heels. Bringing up his right hand blade to slice up the thigh of one of his asailants. The other he threw sideways to block the blade of the second. Bringing around his right hand blade again he swipped at the man still standing, sliding the blade across his face. Taking three shaky steps back he watched both men crying in pain grasping their wounds.

Luther again turned and walked towards the bar. The injured men yelled with fury at this disgrace and stood to charge again. Luther mearly let loose of his blades and caught both men deep in the chest. They fell back lifeless. Luther turned yet again to retreive his blades pulling each from there soft sheiths of flesh. Wiping them on the deads shirts he replaced the daggers at his side and exited the tavern speedily.

"Right then." Tia replied ignoring the fact that they were talking she vanished in the forest only a faint hint of her singing could be heard , but even that vanished after awhile. About an two hours later her voice returned to the area they it seemed abit less shy she came through the trees with a bag slung on her back that she bag made out of palm leaves, it was about to break from the weight of the coconuts. In her other hand a bottle in her travels looking for the coconuts she had run into a family that made there own rum and were selling it. The teenage son of the family had given her a bottle while trying to filrt with her, but she didnt really care sides the fact she finally had rum again.
"Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!!" she wasnt to highly effected by the rum but it put a smile on her face atleast.
"So Tracey, where would you be wanting these coconuts?" Tia said flopping them on the ground and then sitting on them.
"And did we catch enough fish or shall I make a spear and catch some more?"

''We shall need a few more, unless there are any other animals on this island.'' he said, turning towards her. He took down his hammock then gave it to her, ''Use this as a net, you'll catch more. I prefer sleeping on branches anyway.'' he climbed the tree and nestled into a spot he thought looked comfortable, then gave a thumbs up to say he would sleep there.

Once he had climbed down the tree, he stepped closer to the fire, he stared into it, time went by as he stared into the endless fire, burning all in it's path, much like a mighty pirate, how nothing except the sea could claim it.

He turned to tracey ''Is it too dangerous out here, i'll take first watch if it is.'' he had no idea of the conditions here, so he was unsure whether or not they needed a lookout.

"I perfer the spear, thanks though. There were a few, but its to late to hunt for bigger game. Fish for now is a wiser choice. I know the water, but the island I do not." Tia got up and found herself a long study stick she sat be the fire and took out her dagger. She would carve abit then stick the point in the embers of the fire and spin it gently , but with some speed. She repeated this till there was a fine, sharp, and smooth tip to the stick.
Throwing the stick over her shoulder she took a swig of rum before heading towards the water stiking up a tune once more.
"What do you do with a drunken sailor? What do you do with a drunken sailor? What do you do with a drunken sailor earrrrlaaa in the morn'n?"
Tia followed the river abit comming to a quiet shaded part. She sat on the rock over lloking water that would normaly be hard for animals to fish at. She sat still and quiet thinking of everything that had happened. She missed James and a few other in the crew, but she definatly did not miss Captain Black Heart. This Tracey guy was so strange to her in the fact of how much he reminded her of James and yet why was he helping her. She had not done anything for him she had no real building skills though when it came to weapons that was another story. As Tia thought she eyed the water waiting for her chance. In a moment a slight glitter in the water Tia Plunged the spear into the water pushing it down as far and as fast as she could quickly bringing it up she had caught a very nice sized fish. Pulling it off the spear she held it till it stopped moving picking up the rum bottle and the spear she moved down the river again and repeated her auctions from before catching a slightly smaller fish. She looked up and the sun was setting she figure this enough fish for tonight and made her way back to the camp. Placing the spear and rum bottle to the side she put the big fish by the while the smaller fish she gutted and scaled then cut the meat into slices taking out the only thing of slight vaule she had((salt)). She lay she strips flat on the stone and covered them with as much salt as she had.
After doing that Tia got up and grabbed her rum taking another swig before she looked to Tracey.
"Tracey would you like me to cook your fish for ya?"
PostPosted: Sat Aug 19, 2006 6:48 am

By the time they were back with the food, He had most of the hut marked out with the sticks. Looking to Tia when she asked if he wanted her to cook his fish, he responded "Yes, thank you."

Continuing to screw the poles in, he took thin rope and started to tie the pieces together with great dexterity that only came from ages of practices. Right now, they could be burning the other half of the hut down, and he wouldn't have noticed until he was done and had gotten to that spot. He tied the bottom and the top to make sure there were no cracks for anything to get through. Reaching the other end, he took a sharp rock and cut into a remaining piece. Making a whole in the starting and ending piece of the hut, then making the cut piece sharp on both ends, he started to coax it in to the top.

Then, he placed the 'door' into place and stood back. The world came back too. He built a large enough hut for the three of them in record time, the only vanity in him was expecting some words of appreciation. It was his handy work that he cared about what others said, if both of them didn't seem impressed, he felt he would forget his promise and kick them both out on their ears.

Well, he wasn't completely done, he needed to thatch it and work on the Hammocks. Looking around for the leaves he asked, "Can either of you make hammocks?"
