[Zeiq : Olympus : Chamber of the Cornerstone]

Zeiq sighed in relief at the arrival of the new group. Even better, these three were members of the Legion. If he could get out of this mess with minimal harm to himself and without putting everyone near him at risk, all the better.

He let out a soft chuckle at Orielle's little snap. The girl was apparently insufferably rude to everyone in existence, as opposed to just people she perceived as servant's of darkness. He was about to pull out his own letter from the Council when a bright light interrupted his thoughts.

Turning, he saw that the girl with the glasses (Xaviere, if he remembered correctly) had just finished throwing a Firaga spell at the Cornerstone. The light was quickly dimming however, and if he squinted, he could barely make out little flecks of darkness.

Crossing his arms he began to muse, more to himself then anyone else.
"Ah, I see. So the energy in the Cornerstone is being dimmed somehow, and your attempting to counteract it with corresponding elemental magic." He then muttered much more softly. "Doesn't appear to be working, though."

Amelia :: Olympus Coliseum :: Lobby

“My name is Amelia.” Amelia said to Nathan. “Sorry for intruding on your balcony by the way.”

{Nathan .:. Olympus .:. Hotel Lobby}

"The pleasure is all mine, Jeanna, Amelia," Nathan responded as he came out of his bow. "Don't worry about it, Amelia, they're placed on the outside of the building for a reason. Anyway, I was thinking the Ηεbε* Café might be nice. It looks like a charming place, and there weren't too many lines there, so it's not fast food. Which to my mind signifies a much better quality restaurant."

When Mina danced around the subject of the famous fighters, he smothered a chuckle. It was nice to know he wasn't the only one in the dark about it.

"Well, never mind. We can find more information about the Games as we get some food. Mina, Amelia, stick close, I don't want to lose you in the crowds." He grinned cheekily, raising an eyebrow at the two. "I'm not paying for you if you're not there."

.:Oh come on! Can we just sign up for the games already? I Don't want to be saddled with the bimbo and the brats!:. Schwer protested. He knew damn good and well Nathan would definitely be treating the girls to lunch, and taking his dear sweet time about it, too.

.:No, we'll just be waiting in line for hours on end and you'll be complaining about being bored then. At least with the girls we won't be bored, and when the lines are shorter we won't have to wait as long.:.

{Mizu .:. Olympus .:. Temple of Sora .:. Chamber of the Cornerstone}

"Huh, I never considered using fire spells to heal the Cornerstone," Mizu said, watching the girl who'd had the chain whip thing. She ignored the one being rude and bitchy, and her eyes flickered to the guy making remarks for a moment. "Boss-man, I know my Blaze spell isn't all that strong, but d'you think I should try helping out?"

She wasn't sure what all her spell could do, considering the other girl was a lot more powerful in magic than she was. But still, anything she could do to help would be that much more energy the other girl could use to fix whatever was wrong.

[ Orielle : Olympus Coliseum : Temple of Sora : Chamber of the Cornerstone ]

The letter in one hand, her other still loaded at Zeiq, Orielle flicked it open and scanned the note, repeating the key facts aloud. There was an awful lot of waffle for a note with such a simple purpose. "Da da da... Legionnaires Richard Richen... Mizu Hikari... To aid in the protection and restoration of the Cornerstone of Fire, in the Temple of Sora on the Olympus Coliseum."
Looking up at the new arrivals, she let her eyes roam over them, the scowl on her face projecting her distaste in the results of her evaluation. "First off, there's no mention of him―" she flicked her head towards Zidane "―in here. So you need to produce a note of your own―" she was waving the now-folded letter at him "―or get your monkey-a** outta here. And you―" this time, she raised her voice and turned the sheet towards Zeiq. "―need to keep the obvious to yourself (she'd heard his muttering) and explain why the ******** you're still here."

Extending the note back towards Richard with narrow eyes, she opened her glowered lips and said in a low voice, so only the three new arrivals could hear, "This Cornerstone is the only thing protecting this world, and several in the near vicinity, from the Sorceress. It's the only thing between them, and destruction. If anything happens to this big glass ball, a s**t-ton of people are gonna die, if they're lucky." Her words were scathing and dripping in silent fury, her eyes burning with the images of the Frozen she'd seen. "And here you lot are, the ones who are supposed be able to fix this mess: late, ignorant (she looked at Mizu when she said this, in obvious reference to the girl's inability to provide a strong fire spell; the only thing at this point, save Balthazar, that could be in any way helpful. She didn't even know that she needed to use fire magic, for heaven's sake) and with barely enough people to fix a damn lightbulb," she finally finished, prodding Richard in the chest with the folded letter with each emphasized word.

The Legion. The group who took it upon themselves to protect the either realm. They organization with limitless followers. Orielle had been expecting a large party, full of experienced mages and strong fighters. People who could defend the Cornerstone and at least stop it from dying completely. Boy oh boy, was she disappointed with what she saw. Were any of them older than Xaviere? Surely those old men in white robes had better to offer.

[ Mina : Olympus : Hotel Lobby ]

"The h e b e Café?" ((not a censor-able word, Gaia -_-)) Mina said, tilting her head, "And talk about the tournament? Sure, I'm game for that." She laughed quite a bit at her own pun.

[Zidane : Olympus : Chamber of the Cornerstone]

Zidane cringed inwardly as the girl, yelled at him and the others in the room. With a quick hand, before she kicked him out, he took out his written orders, "Sorry about that, ma'am. Here you go, my orders to help protect the Cornerstone."

'Geez a temper like that, makes Mizu's seem sweet and innocent. Must remember not to get under her skin.

[Jeanna : Olympus : Hotel Lobby]

"Sounds like a game plan," Jeanna said, adding to Mina's joke, smiling a little as she walked with them to the streets of the city.

{Nathan .:. Olympus .:. Hotel Lobby >> Ηε Café}

.:Aaaaugh, the puns, make them stooooooop!:.

Nathan chuckled, mostly because of Schwer Lodern's discomfort and not so much at the puns themselves, though that's probably what it would seem like to the girls. He led them through the streets, keeping an eye on Mina and Amelia to make sure they didn't get lost, but the café wasn't that far away, and soon enough they were waiting in the cool, tastefully decorated interior.

Nathan glanced around appreciatively, it was done in soft creams and light wood, with some marble or fake marble accents here and there. The light was done with oil lanterns suspended from silver chains from the ceiling. The glass shelter for the lanterns was actually dual-layered, with water sandwiched between the glass to help magnify the light, so it was well-lit without being too gaudy. There was a sign posted right when they walked in for customers to seat themselves, and they would be served shortly upon finding their own table.

"Well, ladies, where would we like to sit?" he asked, indicating the booths by the windows, or the smaller square tables scattered throughout the dining area.

{Mizu .:. Olympus .:. Temple of Sora .:. Chamber of the Cornerstone}

Good Lord this lady was a b***h. When she heard the cowed tone to Zidane's voice, Mizu snarled and rounded on the woman with the guns. Richard was probably gonna kill her for this...

"Look, lady," Mizu snapped, and emphasized the last word to indicate that Orielle was being anything but a lady, "we're here to help, but nothing in our orders says anything about putting up with a b***h like you. So you can either cool your jets or we're walking, and you can deal with the Cornerstone yourself. Like it or not, the Legion sent us, so you can either trust their damn judgment and give the three of us a try, or you can go find help elsewhere, because I for one am not going to deal with your a**. This ain't the only Cornerstone in the universe, the rest of the Legion is out either fighting the Sorceress head-on, trying to win back the Frozen worlds, or protecting the rest of the Stones from the kind of tampering this one has had. So shut up or ship out."

She didn't so much as twitch during this entire speech, but her heart was hammering in her chest. She was going to catch hell for this, she knew she was, but she wasn't putting up with Orielle either. Mizu's chin was set stubbornly, and her green eyes were locked on Orielle's periwinkle ones.

Try me, b***h. I dare you, she thought, the sentiment reflected in her posture.

[ Orielle : Olympus Coliseum : Temple of Sora : Chamber of the Cornerstone ]

"Well the fact that the Legion sent three lead-legged, s**t-slow kids in diapers doesn't inspire much confidence in their judgement," Orielle scoffed, taking Zidane's letter and scanning it.

"Calm, calm, calm, calm, clam..."

"Tell me, Mizu; are any of you three capable of casting strong fire spells? Are any of you familiar with Sorcery, both light and dark? And it's just you, right? Because an organization as huge as the Legion can't afford to send out more than three toddlers to help something as trivial as the one object protecting at least a handful of worlds from the Darkness, right?" she asked pointedly, locking eyes with the girl and staring down at her; she didn't even break the contest when she handed the letter back to Zidane. "Yes, this ain't the only Cornerstone. I guess that makes it dispensable, right? So what if it's the sole thing keeping billions of people alive; you three clearly have far more important things to do."
"Oh, that little b***h,"
Orielle snarled to herself. Who the <********> did she think she ― they ― were, waltzing right in here, taking their own sweet time, all because they figured 'just one' of the pillars supporting the Light has been damaged, so it probably doesn't matter? Why the hell would the Legion send three infants who didn't even understand, or know how to fix, the eminent danger befalling this region of the realm? There could only be one answer.

"Guess they've all been lighting up."

{Richard : Olympus : Temple of Sora : Chamber of the Cornerstone}

Richard had been calm during the whole "interrogation" of the woman who seemed to be supervising things here. He took back the letter and pocketed it. Then Mizu basically exploded at the woman, which received nothing but rudeness and further anger from the woman. Not that that reaction surprised him. However, he knew his apprentice and she was liable to draw her daggers at this woman for those remarks. He quickly walked forward, placing a hand on Mizu's shoulder to try and calm her down. At the same time, he was putting himself as a barrier between the two.

"Enough! I don't know who you are, or why you are the one who seems to think you're in charge here. I thought the report had said to expect Balthazar Blake, not some hot-head who can't hold her tongue or mind her manners. Whether you like it or not, we have been ordered here. Even if we are unable to aid in repairing the damage done, we can and will defend the cornerstone from any more threats. If the Sorceress' Minions do show up here. Can you handle them on your own? If not, then I suggest you let us do what we can," Richard stated, a sign of very rarely released venom in his voice. His gaze cold as ice locked on Orielle. A gaze that intimidated many foes in the past. "We will not leave until our assignment is complete, and you can do nothing to stop us. Do not think that we are ignorant to what is at stake here, for we are not. We have seen it more times than any of us would like to admit."

With his last sentence, one might be able to detect very well concealed pain in the samurai's voice. Though only for a moment before it was gone again. However, his gaze was still locked on Orielle, as if challenging her to try something. Richard's grip on Mizu's shoulder had unintentionally tightened to a degree and he seemed not to notice.

[ Mina : Olympus : Café ]

It was a nice place! Although Mina likely would have thought the same for any restaurant that Nathan had treated them to. He was treating them, and that kindness made the place more special, in her eyes.

"A table would be nice," she said, thinking about how hard it would be to get out of a booth, once cornered there. A small, nagging feeling in the back of her mind pointed out how odd it was for an almost complete stranger to take her and 'her group' out to eat. Being much more willing to believe that people were sometimes spontaneously kind, she ignored it.

[Zidane : Olympus : Chamber of the Cornerstone]

Zidane took his orders and put them back into his pocket as Richard did. He glanced over at Mizu when she exploded on the woman. Though he didn't react physically, but he felt his mental eye twitch. Though he agreed that this woman was pushing the line, by insulting all of them. Before Zidane could do anything to try and stop the fight he knew was coming, knowing Mizu's temper- having been on the receiving end of it numerous times- Zidane knew that Mizu was about to smack this woman, or worse. However, before Zidane could do anything to hold her back Richard stepped in and placed his hand on their comrade's shoulder and spoke to the woman who set Mizu off.

"You know," Zidane said walking out to step between the women, casually, with his hands in his pockets, eyes closed, facing in the direction of the stone, "For someone who needs our help. You seem dead set on trying to throw us out. If you know anything about the Legion, you won't turn us away with insults. Like it or not, Lady, you got three children, as you call us. And you're stuck with us. So why don't we all just calm down and get along. After all we are all here for one thing. Which is to protect the Cornerstone."

[Jeanna : Olympus : Cafe]

Jeanna's eyes looked around the restaurant slowly. The interior was beautiful. It reminded her of a place back home on Kleides. Where her fiancee had taken her all those years ago. Where he... before he left... Silently, trying to keep her bittersweet memories at bay, Jeanna closed her eyes and touched the ring she wore on her neck.

With a heavy sigh she looked at the others when they mentioned about the seating, "I am fine anywhere," she said softly with a slight smile, that quickly faded as she looked down, still holding onto her ring.
