He's a lawyer who sues videogame companies every other day. Not just that, he is a complete retard when doing so. Last week he wrote an open letter demanding the latest Rockstar game Bully to get a Mature rating, because it contained boy on boy kissing.
A few days before that, he lost a case where he demanded the game to be banned from the US, even though NO ONE had played it yet. Rockstar gave an alpha-version of the game to the judge, who played the game for a few hours and wondered what exactly is against the law in that game.
Oh, after that, Taketwo and Rockstar sued Thompson for a truckload of things and during the hearing, 4 cops had to "convince" Thompson to lower a picket sign he was waving around in the courtroom.
The judge filed an official complaint at the BAR, so Thompson will most likely be out of practise soon.
This is only one example of the many lawsuits of Jack Thompson

Edit: This site is incredible... you can even see a sign that says "Si Prega Di Chiudere." under the fresco on the gate which means, We Pray For You to Close. Amazing... simply amazing to see so much detail of a huge picture.
